  • When the landfill gas generated at the landfill site is released into the atmosphere, methane gas with a high global warming potential is emitted, which adversely affects climate change. When methane contained in landfill gas is used as fuel for internal combustion engines and burned to generate electricity, it is emitted into the atmosphere in the form of carbon dioxide, which can contribute to lowering the global warming potential. Therefore, in order to use the landfill gas as fuel for power generation using an internal combustion engine, it is important to increase the thermal efficiency of the engine. Thus, it is necessary to use a fuel supply system in which gas is injected using an electronically controlled injector at an intake port for each cylinder rather than a fuel supply technology using the conventional mixer technology. In order to use the electronically controlled gas injection method, it is important to accurately measure the mass flow rate according to the conditions of using landfill gas. For this, a study was conducted to measure the injection amount and calculate them in order for the intake port gas injection of landfill gas.

  • 최근 고유가 문제와 환경에 대한 관심 증가로 인해 친환경저연비 자동차에 대한 기술 연구가 다양한 분야에서 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이 가운데서도 특히 반도체 및 배터리의 급속한 기술발전으로 자동차용 부품들이 기계식 방식에서 전자식 방식으로 대체되고 있다. 그 중에서 전동식 워터펌프는 엔진의 회전에 연동된 타이밍 벨트로 구동되는 기존의 기계식 펌프와 달리, 펌프부에 전기모터 및 제어기가 결합되어 독립적인 구동능력을 갖추고 있다. 자동차 동력효율을 높이기 위해 내연기관 및 주변 전장장치들의 온도를 주행조건에 따라 제어하여 적정하게 유지시킬 필요가 있으며 이를 위한 자동차 부품으로 전동 워터펌프의 중요성이 커지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 자동차용 전동워터펌프 제어기 개발을 위하여 브러시리스형 DC모터를 적용하였다. 브러시리스형 DC모터는 고속 및 큰 부하에서 Back EMF 대비 전류의 지상 성분이 발생하여 상전류 증가 및 전체 효율을 떨어뜨린다. 이에 본 연구에서는 Lead Angle의 양을 계산하는 기법을 이용하여 워터펌프에 적용하였다.

Trend for Performance Improvement of 2-Stroke Gasoline Engine (2-stroke 가솔린 기관 성능 향상을 위한 추세)

  • 내연기관 연구에 전념하는 모든 사람들의 한결같은 3대 염원은 연비향상, 비출력증대 및 유해 배기가스 성분 감소이다. 이중 비과급 가솔린 기관의 경우 비출력 증대를 위한 4-stroke cycle 엔진에서의 여구는 현지까지 헤아릴 수 없이 많은 연구가 진행되어 발전의 한계에 도달한 느낌 이다. 따라서 이의 실질적인 증대는 시각을 달리하여 2-stroke cycle로의 전환으로서만 가능하리 라 본다. 2-stroke 엔진은 원래 이목적으로 고안된 것이라는 것은 주지의 사실이다. 그러나 이 장치가 비출력면에서 효과적인 가솔린엔진의 경우에서도 현재까지 별로 각광을 받지 못한 것은 다음과 같은 몇가지 두드러진 이유 때문이라고 본다. 첫째 흡입연료의 일부가 소기(scavenging) 과정에서 배기공으로 곧바로 유출됨으로 배기 공해성분을 증가시키고 연료손실에 따른 연비저감 을 초래하는 것이다. 둘째로 crankcase 소기를 이용하는 소형가솔린 2-stroke 엔진에서는 새 공 기의 흡입이 충분치 못하여 일방적으로 높지 않은 소기효율을 고려한 최종 흡입 체적효율은 상당 히 낮아지게 됨으로써 목적하는바의 비출력 증대의 득을 별로 얻지 못함은 물론 잔류가스율이 높아 저부하, 저속도에서 엔진의 구동이 손조롭지 못ㅎ하고 시동이 어려워지는 특성을 나타나게 된다. 따라서 이러한 바람직하지 못한 결과를 감수할 수 있는 경우에는 소형원동기에 주로 2-stroke 가솔린 엔진이 이용되어 왔다. 요사이 이러한 약점들을 타개할 수 있는 고안들이 미국 SAE지에 소개되어 관심을 끌고 있어 이에 대해 요저먹으로 소개하고자 한다.

Economic Analysis on PV/Diesel Power System for Remote Islands' Electrification (도서용 태양광/내연기관 발전시스템 경제성 비교 분석)

  • Several PV-diesel hybrid systems were built in isolated islands in Korea, where they are far from the inland to be supplied the electric power to a utility level from it. A lot of efforts has been concentrated to find a cost-effective electric supply system with higher reliability and minimum maintenance when compared with a diesel generator. For this purpose, an autonomous PV-diesel hybrid system with multi-channel remote monitoring system was investigated to supply electric power under minimum operating cost and maintenance in a small isolated island. In this report, the economic analysis was performed for comparison with photovoltaic system and diesel generator by computer simulation. And it was proven that a PV system is more cost-effective than an internal combustion engine for the remote island with less than 150 households. Especially, in the case of islands with less than 50 households, the initial construction cost of the PV system is comparable to and its operating cost is about 70% less than the diesel generator.

  • Natural gas fuel has known to be very promising in terms of abundancy and economic value. Therefore it is widely treated as research topics in a variety field of production, storage and utilization. Natural gas has become one of the major sources for the power generation by using internal combustion engines(ICE). Development of natural gas fuel injection device should be preceded to realize a reliable natural gas fuel supply system for a MW class power generation reciprocating ICE. In this research, an injection valve which consists of solenoid and body part with a moving plate was designed and its dynamic performance was experimented in the engine-like environment. Displacement length and diameter of an armature and diameter of a solenoid coil were tested at former study. In this research the effect of materials of solenoid core, size of main housing inlet and supply gas pressure are examined.

  • 국내 내륙 전체 배전계통은 "22.9kV-Y 중성선 다중접지방식"으로 일원화하여 운영 중에 있으나 도서 섬지역은 자체 내연력 발전 설비를 갖추고 380V-Y로 발전하여 $6.6kV-{\Delta}$로 승압 후 전력을 공급하고 있다. 현재 한전은 설비용량 200kW이상 38개 도서에서 비접지 계통으로 운영 중에 있다. KEPCO와 KDN은 비접지계통($6.6kV-{\Delta}$)으로 운영중인 도서 중 전북지사 부안지점 관내 위도에 시범운영을 통해서 실선로에서 비접지 1선 지락 고장 검출여부 검증을 시행하였다. 시범운영에는 배전자동화 시스템 주장치 1식, mFRTU 12대를 개폐기와 같이 설치하였는데, mFRTU에는 독창적이고 상용화 가능한 "비접지 지락고장검출 알고리즘" 개발하여 탑재하였으며 1선 지락고장을 발생시켜 mFRTU가 고장선로와 고장지점을 정확하게 검출하는지 여부를 검증하였다. 이번에 비접지계통 실선로에서 지락고장을 완벽하게 검출한 가장 큰 의의는 국내 및 해외 최초로 비접지 지락고장검출을 성공하였다는 것입니다. 본 논문에서는 비접지로 운영중인 도서지역에 배전자동화시스템 기반으로 지락고장검출하는 기능을 상용화하여 운영중인 시스템에 대한 내용이다. 이번에 구축한 배전자동화시스템은 비접지계통에 알맞도록 개발된 자동화용 개폐기와mFRTU에 지락고장검출 알고리즘을 기능 구현하였다. 선로에 1선지락 고장발생시 mFRTU가 고장선로, 고장구간 및 고장상 등을 판단하고 상위 주장치에 전송한다. 주장치는 고장정보를 HMI 단선도에 고장지점을 표시하여 종합적으로 감시제어 할 수 있는 시스템이다.

  • Between 1980 and 1997 the Korean textile and clothing industry (KTCI) experienced the transformation of export-led accumulation regime rooted in domestically-derived price competitiveness into the combination between foreign mass production involving the geographical extension of productive forces and quality strategy based on upgrading technology and automation involved in the domestic market for high quality and price products. This restructuring of the KTCI is rooted at the crisis in the export-led growth regime implemented unity 1980 due to the rapid increase in wage levels by the ‘great labour movement’occurred in 1987. In particular, increased wage and collective bargaining realized through labour empowerment led to the crisis in the conjoin between mass production and mass export based on long working hours and low wage structure. The aim of this paper is to explore the transformation of development modes between 1980 and 1997 that can help us in understanding the fundamental reasons for the restructuring of the KTCI. To this end, the paper identifiles the changing accumulation regimes between 1980 and 1997 mediated by wage-labour relations, inter-firm relations and state-film relations, which are insitutional forms of the modes of regulation.

Fundamental Heat Analysis about the Thermoelectric Generation System Using the Waste Heat of Exhaust Gas from Ship (선박의 배기가스 폐열을 활용한 열전발전시스템에 관한 기초 열해석)

  • IMO (International Maritime Organization) in the UN (United Nations) set up that aim at reducing $CO_2$ emission from ship by up to 30 percent until 2030. The final purpose of this study is the development of marine thermoelectric generation system using waste heat from vessel of internal combustion engines. Before the development of marine thermoelectric generation system, this paper carried out the fundamental heat analysis of marine thermoelectric generation system. It was able to obtain the valuable results about the efficiency improvement of the thermoelectric generation system. The results is as follows : 1) It was confirmed that the efficiency of thermoelectric generation system improves to 8.917 % with increasing the temperature difference of peltier module by reducing the temperature difference between peltier module and heat source at the hot side. 2) System efficiency according to change in the external load resistance was confirmed that the change width of about 6 % which does not significantly occur. 3) System efficiency in the case stainless steel at the same condition is 8.707 %. System efficiency could be confirmed that the stainless steel is higher than duralumin (8.605 %), copper (8.607 %).

Development of natural gas fuel injection device should be preceded to realize a reliable natural gas fuel supply system for a MW class power generation reciprocating ICE. In this research, an injection valve which consists of solenoid and body part with a moving plate was designed and its dynamic performance was experimented in the engine-like environment. As a result of the experiments, linearity of flow rate was obtained and overall around 2ms of response time was observed at the pressure difference of 1bar. In addition, more than 100Liter/min(@2Hz) of gas flow rate was witnessed, which is expected to be adequate for the fuel supply system of a MW class natural gas engine.

Analysis of Electric Vehicle's Environmental Benefits from the Perspective of Energy Transition in Korea (에너지 전환정책에 따른 전기자동차의 환경편익 추정연구)

  • The electric vehicle is a representative measure to reduce greenhouse gas and local air pollutants in the transportation sector. Most countries provide purchase subsidies and tax reductions to promote electric vehicle sales. The electric vehicles have been considered as zero-emission vehicles(ZEV) in light of the fact that there has been no pollutant emission during driving. However, recent studies have pointed out that the pollutant emitted from the process of generating electricity used for charging the electric vehicles need to be treated as emissions of the electric vehicles. Furthermore, the environmental benefits of electric vehicle replacing the internal combustion vehicle vary with the power mix. In line with the recent studies, this study analyzes the impact of electric vehicles based on the current power mix and future energy transition scenarios in Korea. To estimate the precise air pollutants emission profile, this study uses hourly electricity generation and TMS emission data for each power plant from 2015 to 2016. The estimation results show that the electric vehicles under the current power mix generate the environmental benefits of only -0.41~10.83 won/km. Also, we find that the environmental benefit of electric vehicle will significantly increase only when the ratio of the coal-fired power plant is reduced to a considerable extent.
