Game developers and publishers set up public relations strategies to encourage potential consumers' needs. Considering characteristics of video game, the trailer, which is the animated image advertisement material, could occupy a key position in its promotion and marketing plan. Cinematic spectacles and attractive narratives are essential ingredients for game trailers, which are usually produced in 3D animation. Dead Island is an open world first person shooters (FPS) game released in 2011. When launched, it grabbed a great attention with a trailer, awarded the Golden Lion Prize for the best internet film at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The game was a commercial success and several spin-offs were producted. In 2014, its publisher, Deep Silver showed the official trailer of Dead Island 2 at Electronic Entertainment Expo, the world's largest game show. Dead Island 2 was scheduled to be released in 2016, but has been now delayed until 2018. This study compares and analyzes two trailers of Dead Island 1 and Dead Island 2. We examine the narrative structure of the trailer for the sequel promotion of a successful game. The differences between the two could be useful for building a promotion strategy of other game series.

  • The function of music in a motion picture ranges widely from supporting the storyline to being the main storyline delivering the major plots. This trend and can be seen in recently produced films, advertising as well as in music videos. Many attempts were made to express music visually in the past. But it was through Disney's creative production, "Fantasia", that such attempts became a reality in a motion picture. This paper will look into the difference between the "Fantasia" and "Fantasia 2000" through a comparative analysis of the correlation between the musical element and the storyline of the 2 Disney animation movies. The most distinct difference is that the "Fantasia" has a storyline that is faithful to the original interpretation of the true meaning of the music, while, on the other hand, the "Fantasia 2000" has a storyline that endeavors to express the special features of the overall sound of individual pieces as best as possible. And the differences between the two animations, thus compiled, is hoped to facilitate and enhance a better understanding of the two Disney's finest animations.

  • Computer technology pursuing more innovative image than before, makes some characteristics which distinguishes the digital fiction film from the analogue fiction film. One hand, the split screen in analogue film aides the development of drama in the aspect of narrative, on the other hand, it controls the psychology of spectator. The composite image in digital fiction film by computer graphic, and elaborated digital editing show many innovation in the field of audiovisual. In this context, I would like to remark on the digital film (2003) directed by Ang-Lee. In , the split screen and the composition of the fast transiition of shots in the scene of laboratory were created by computer graphic program for special effects. As visual special effect plays an important role in digital film, its narrative space creates a space which is distinguishable from that of analogue film. This can be an example which says a lot for the special aspect of digital narrative.

  • In film various techniques interact organically in order to bring a story to life and, by doing so, influence the audience's perception. The techniques composing the form of a film are part of a format-system and therefore have to be well adjusted to the content of the film to trigger an intended effect. It is then that these techniques boost the intensity of the audience's emotional experience. The subject of analysis in this study of aesthetic composition, which is part of the concept of visual narrative, is the movie "Silence", which depicts a disturbing story based on real events. The goal of this study is the analysis of composition techniques used to support the film's narrative structure, where elaborate frame-composition and techniques are applied with great efficiency. Another goal is also to illustrate the meaning of film-format and its importance. Looking deeper into the question of how meaning and emotions, which are inherent in a film, finally manifest themselves on screen through a single shot, where the cinematographer's ideas and aesthetic vision come together and also the question of how a narrative structure in the context of a film works- these questions are the essence of this study.

  • This paper analyzes the short animation film which faithfully follows the external dimension of cartoons, and studies the hidden subject and the way of narrative in the back of the figure. In this process, we analyze the theme of using the analysis method of mosaic image. The narrative of cartoons is usually the majority in discussing the differences in the aspectual part. However, this animation uses cartoons to reach the linear narrative of ordinary narrative movies. As Janet Murray explains, if a 'mosaic image' approaches a theme through a mosaic approach, we can limit the 'mosaic film' that are introduced in the film format among them. First of all, conceptually uses the characteristics of 'mosaic image', at the same time, it utilizes a work utilizing the narrative features of 'mosaic film'. By analyzing this animation film by bifurcation, the first half reveals the characteristics of open-minded mosaic video platform, and the second half introduces the linear narrative method of film narrative. This paper divides the narrative method of 'multi plot Film' into three types: mosaic narrative film, network narrative film, and multi-draft film. Thus, we can analyze the ending of as a narrative method of 'network narrative film' which is composed of parallel or juxtaposed stories. In other words, if the early part of the animation follows the 'mosaic narrative' as an 'extension of ensemble film', the latter part faithfully follows 'network narrative'. Even in the way of talking about the subject, this animated film uses the way of speaking the mosaic image. Considering the aspectual tendency of cartoons, it can be said that this film derives the meaning of 'humor' or 'satire' in an open way. If the first half refers to 'the ambiguous routine of modern man', the latter half draws a profound theme called 'the reality of human selfishness in modern society'. is a film for a wide range of social criticism designed for adults who can interpret meaning.

Especially, in the important context of the character and narrative structure of the film, such as the amplification of the tension and the resolution of the tension in the conflict of Truman, the main character of the film, Philip Glass's music is important through the contrast of the tempo of music and the contrast of emotional character.
