The avoidance of enemy's radar detection is very important issue in the modem electronic weapon system. Researchers have studied to minimize reflected signals of radar. In this research, two types of radar absorbing structure (RAS), 'C'-type shell and 'U'-type shell, were fabricated using fiber-reinforced composite materials and their radar cross section (RCS) were evaluated. The absorption layer was composed of glass fiber reinforced epoxy and nano size carbon-black, and the reflection layer was fabricated with carbon fiber reinforced epoxy. During their manufacturing process, undesired thermal deformation (so called spring-back) was observed. In order to reduce spring-back, the bending angle of mold was controlled by a series of experiments. The spring-back of parts fabricated by using compensated mold was predicted by finite element analysis (ANSYS). The RCS of RAS shells were measured by compact range and predicted by physical optics method. The measured RCS data was well matched with the predicted data.

The new PEI(poly(epoxy-imide))-nano Silica film has been synthesized via in situ CS sol process, and the chemical bonding and microstructure of nano silica dispersed in resin were examined by FT-IR, TAG and SEM. The dielectric properties of these hybrid films over a given temperature and frequency ranges have been studied in a point of view of stable chemical bonding of nano Silica filler. The results from IR spectra and SEM photograph indicated that PEI-Silica hybrid film prepared with nano CS sol process has been synthesized in uniform and chemical bonding. The decrease property of dielectric constant with CS content, tangent loss consistent of given frequency and temperature has been explained in terms of the chain movement of polymer through chemical bonging and size effect of nano silica. The new PEI-CS sol hybrid film with such stable chemical and dielectric properties was expected to be used as a high functional coating application in ET, IT and electric power products.
In this paper, we describe a new method to form polymer thin films, in which carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are homogeneously distributed so that they can strengthen the mechanical property of resulting polymer film. To do so, we first homogeneously mixed CNTs with polymer in a DMF solvent. With the assistance of ultrasonic nebulizer, the polymer/CNT solution was then aerosolized into micro-sized droplets and finally turned into solidified polymer/CNT composite particles by gas-phase drying process. As the results of SEM and TEM analysis, CNTs were found to be homogeneously immobilized in the polymer matrix particles due to rapid drying process in the gas phase. For comparison purpose, (i) the polymer/CNTs composite particles prepared by aerosol processing method and (ii) polymer/CNTs sheets prepared by simple solution-evaporation method were employed to form polymer/CNTs composite thin films using a hot press. As the result, the aerosol processing of composite particles was found to be a much more effective method to form homogeneously distributed-CNTs in the polymer matrix thin film.
A series of inorganic-organic hybrid membranes were prepared with a systematic variation of titanium dioxide nano particles content. Their liquid uptake, methanol permeability and proton conductivity as a function of inorganic oxide content were investigated. The results obtained show that the inorganic oxide network decreases the proton conductivity and liquid uptake. It is also found that increase in inorganic oxide content leads to decrease of methanol permeability. In terms of the morphology, membranes are homogeneous and exhibit a good adhesion between inorganic domains and the polymer matrix. The properties of the composite membranes are compared with the standard nafion membrane.
We applied a new analyzing technique for the polyurethane acrylate hybrid emulsion sample composed of polyurethane resin and acrylate resin using the phase-lag mapping techniques of atomic force microscopy. For the analysis, we synthesized similarly sized pure polyurethane dispersion and acrylate emulsion particles, which were used for measuring the standard phase-lag intensities for each material. Based on these signal intensity, we could discriminate acryl particle in the polyurethane dispersion matrix with the resolution of a few tens of nanometers. Thus, the techniques show a new possibility in the analysis of the organic two-phase particles, and we believe the techniques are helpful to design organic particles.
The relative viscosity was measured at different filler loadings for a cycloaliphatic epoxy resin and hexahydro-4-methylphthalic anhydride hardener system filled with micro/nano hybrid silica. Various empirical models were fitted to the experimental data and a fitting parameter such as critical filler fractions (${\phi}_{max}$) was estimated. Among the models, the Zhang-Evans model gave the best fit to the viscosity data. For all the silica loadings used, ln (relative viscosity) varied linearly with filler loadings. Using the Zhang-Evans model and the linearity characteristics of the viscosity change, simple methods to predict the relative viscosity below ${\phi}_{max}$ are presented in this work. The predicted viscosity values from the two methods at hybrid silica fractions of $\phi$ = 0.086 and 0.1506 were confirmed for a micro:nano = 1:1 hybrid filler. As a result, the difference between measured and predicted values was less than 11%, indicating that the proposed predicting methods are in good agreement with the experiment.

SiOC films were made using the oxygen and bistrimethylsilylmethane mixed precursor. The chemical properties of SiOC films divided into three properties, organic, hybrid and inorganic depending on the flow rate ratio between oxygen and bistrimethylsilylmethane precursor. The films with organic properties decreased dielectric constant, because of pore incorporation in final materials. In this study, the porosity of SiOC films with organic properties was investigated using the Makwell-Garnett equation. The porosity of the films could be correlated with the blue shift in the infrared spectra scopy, and increased with the decreasing the dielectric constant of the film.
The electrical wire explosion process in liquid media is promising for nano-sized metal and/or alloy particles. The hybrid Pt/Fe-Cr-Al and Pt/Ni-Cr-Fe nanoparticles for exhaust emission control system are synthesized by electrical wire explosion process in liquid media. The alloy powders have spherical shape and nanometer size. According to the wire component, while Pt/Fe-Cr-Al nanoparticles are shown the well dispersed Pt on the Fe-Cr-Al core particle, Pt/Ni-Cr-Fe nanoparticles are shown the partially separated Pt on the Ni-Cr-Fe core particle. Morphologies and component of two kinds of hybrid nano catalyst particles were characterized by transmission electron microscope and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy analysis.
In this paper, usability and use force on the structure and does not have a big impact on the development of existing materials developed using materials to their full impact/blast resistant Complex configuration on the panel that can be implemented. Each material of the characteristics so that they can exert in layers of layer formed panels in layers. Structure of the general structure is to keep strength and endurance, maintenance and minimize the damage can be utilized for knee brace to do basic research, for creating the panel.

Quaternary Ti-Al-Si-N films were deposited on WC-Co substrates by a hybrid deposition system of arc ion plating (AIP) method for Ti-Al source and DC magnetron sputtering technique for Si incorporation. The synthesized Ti-Al-Si-N films were revealed to be composites of solid-solution (Ti,Al)N crystallites and amorphous $Si_3N_4$ by instrumental analyses. The Si addition in Ti-Al-N films affected the refinement and uniform distribution of crystallites by percolation phenomenon of amorphous silicon nitride, similarly to Si effect in TiN film. As the Si content increased up to about 9 at.%, the hardness of Ti-Al-N film steeply increased from 30 GPa to about 50 GPa. The highest microhardness value (~50 GPa) was obtained from the Ti-Al-Si-N film having the Si content of 9 at.%, the microstructure of which was characterized by a nanocomposite of $nc-(Ti,Al)N/a-Si_3N_4$.
