Bioequivalence of Tigrin Capsule to Disgren Capsule (Triflusal 300 mg) (디스그렌 캅셀(트리플루살 300 mg)에 대한 티그린 캅셀의 생물학적 동등성)

  • Triflusal is a new antithrombotic agent which inhibits both platelet cyclooxygenase and c-AMP phosphodiesterase activity. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two triflusal capsules, $Disgren^{TM}$ (Myung-In Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) and $Tigriri^{TM}$ (Hana Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Eighteen normal male volunteers, $22.94{\pm}1.83$ in age and $63.7l{\pm}10.43$ kg in body weight, were divided into two groups and a randomized $2{\times}2$ cross-over study was employed. After one capsule containing 300 mg of triflusal was orally administered, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentrations of triflusal in serum were determined using HPLC method with UV detector. Pharmacokinetic parameters such as $AUC_t$ $C_{max}$ and $T_{max}$ were calculated and ANOVA test was utilized for the statistical analysis of the parameters. The results showed that the differences in $AUC_t$ $C_{max}$ and $T_{max}$ between two capsules were -0.30%, 0.81 % and -3.03%, respectively when calculated against the $Disgren_{TM}$ capsule. The powers $(1-{\beta})$ for $AUC_t$ $C_{max}$ and $T_{max}$ were 98.29%,84.73% and 81.02%, respectively. Minimum detectable differences $({\Delta})$ at ${\alpha}=0.1$ and $1-{\beta}=0.8$ were all less than 20% (e.g., 12.91%, 18.46% and 19.65% for $AUC_t$ $C_{max}$ and $T_{max}$ respectively). The 90% confid,ence intervals were all within ${\pm}20%$(e.g., $-8.97{\sim}8.37$, $-11.58{\sim}13.22$ and $-16.23{\sim}10.17$ for $AUC_t$ $C_{max}$ and $T_{max}$, respectively). All of the above parameters ($1-{\beta}, {\Delta}$ and 90% confidence intervals) met the criteria of KFDA for bioequivalence, indicating that $Tigriri^{TM}$ capsule is bioequivalent to $Disgren^{TM}$ capsule.

Bioequivalence of Hana Ondansetron Tablet to Zofran Tablet (Ondansetron 8 mg) (조프란 정(온단세트론 8 mg)에 대한 하나 온단세트론 정의 생물학적 동등성)

  • Ondansetron is a potent, highly selective 5-hydroxytryptamine3(5-HT3) receptor- antagonist, for the management of nausea and vomiting induced by cytotoxic chemotherapy and radiography, and the treatment of post-operative nausea and vomiting. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two ondansetron tablets, $Zofran^{TM}$, (Glaxo Wellcome Korea Ltd.) and Hana ondansetron (Hana Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.), according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Eighteen normal male volunteers, $23.56{\pm}1.79$ year in age and $67.35{\pm}8.35\;kg$ in body weight, were divided into two groups and a randomized $2{\times}2$ cross-over study was employed. After one tablet containing 8 mg of ondansetron was orally administered, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentrations of ondansetron in serum were determined using HPLC with UV detector. Pharmacokinetic parameters such as $AUC_t,\;C_{max}\;and\;T_{max}$ were calculated and ANOVA test was utilized for the statistical analysis of the parameters. The results showed that the differences in $AUC_t,\;C_{max}\;and\;T_{max}$ between two tablets were 7.53%, -0.23% and -3.92%, respectively when calculated against the $Zofran^{TM}$, tablet. The powers $(1-{\beta})$ for $AUC_t,\;C_{max}\;and\;T_{max}$ were above 99.00%, above 99.00% and 84.99%, respectively. Minimum detectable differences $(\Delta)\;at\;{\alpha}=0.1\;and\;1-{\beta}=0.8$ were all less than 20% (e.g., 12.25%, 10.88% and 18.37% for $AUC_t,\;C_{max}\;and\;T_{max}$, respectively). The 90% confidence intervals were all within ${\pm}20%$ (e.g., $-0.70{\sim}15.76,\;-7.53{\sim}7.08\;and\;-16.27{\sim}8.42\;for\;AUC_t,\;C_{max}\;and\;T_{max}$, respectively). All of the above parameters met the criteria of KFDA for bioequivalence, indicating that Hana ondansetron tablet is bioequivalent to $Zofran^{TM}$, tablet.

Soil Water Storage and Antecedent Precipitation Index at Gwangneung Humid-Forested Hillslope (광릉 산지사면에서의 선행강우지수와 토양저류량 비교연구)

  • The temporal variation of soil water storage is important in hydrological modeling. In order to evaluate an antecedent wetness state, the antecedent precipitation index (API) has been used. The aim of this article is to compare observed soil water storage with APIs calculated by widely used four equations, to configure the relationship between soil water storage and API by a regression model for one-year(2009), and to predict the soil water storage for the next two years(2010~2011). The soil water storage was evaluated from the observed soil moisture dataset in soil depths of 10, 30, 60cm at 21 locations by TDR measurement system for 3 years. As a result, API with the exponential function among the four equations can describe the variation of the observed soil water storage. Monthly optimized parameters of the API's equations seemed to be roughly related with the (potential) evapotranspiration (PET). Using revised monthly optimized parameters of APIs considering the seasonal pattern of PET, we characterize the relationship between API and the observed soil water storage for one year, which looks better than those of other researches.

Hydro-Biogeochemical Approaches to Understanding of Water and Carbon Cycling in the Gwangneung Forest Catchment (수문생지화학적 접근을 통한 광릉 산림 유역의 물과 탄소 순환 이해)

  • The information on flowpath, storage, residence time, and interactions of water and carbon transport in a catchment is the prerequisite to the understanding and predicting of water and carbon cycling in the mountainous landscapes of Korea. In this paper, along with some up-to-date results, we present the principal methods that are currently used in HydroKorea and CarboKorea research to obtain such information. Various catchment hydrological processes have been examined on the basis of the water table fluctuations, the end-member mixing model, the cross correlation analysis, and cosmogenic radioactive isotope activity. In the Gwangneung catchment, the contribution of surface discharge was relatively large, and the changes in the amount, intensity and patterns of precipitation affected both the flowpath and the mean residence time of water. Particularly during the summer monsoon, changes in precipitation patterns and hydrological processes in the catchment influenced the carbon cycle such that the persistent precipitation increased the discharge of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) concentrated in the surface soil layer. The improved understanding of the hydrological processes presented in this report will enable a more realistic assessment of the effects of climate changes on the water resource management and on the carbon cycling in forest catchments.

Estimation of the Groundwater Recharge Rate during a Rainy Season at a Headwater Catchment in Gwangneung, Korea (광릉 원두부 소유역에서의 우기 중 지하수 함양률 평가)

  • Groundwater recharge rates were estimated and compared in a headwater catchment at the Gwangneung Supersite using three different methods: water-table fluctuation (WTF), mass balance, and hydrograph separation techniques. Data were obtained during the rainy season from June to September 2005. Two different WTF methods estimated the groundwater recharge rate as 25.9% and 23.6%. The mass balance calculation of chloride ions indicated recharge rates of 13.4% on average. Baseflow separation using chloride ion as a tracer from six storm hydrographs produced a 14.0% net baseflow rate on average. Because of the implicit assumption of a long-term steady state without storage change, recharge rates calculated by mass balance and hydrograph separation were smaller than those done with WTF methods, which include the amount of increased storage due to the water-level rise. Subsequently, the WTF method is superior to others in the estimation of groundwater recharge rate to comprehend the dynamic characteristics of the hydrologic cycle.

Analysis of Relationship Based on Growth Period and Morphological Characteristics in Blueberry (Vaccinium spp.) (국내 도입 블루베리의 생육기 및 형태적 특성에 의한 유연관계 분석)

  • For analysis of the relationship among blueberry cultivars, the growth period and morphological characteristics were investigated in 28 blueberry cultivars, and cluster analysis using the SAS program was conducted based on the morphological data. The harvest period was later and longer in rabbiteye blueberry cultivars (Austin, Brightwell, Powderblue, Southland, Tifblue) than in highbush blueberry cultivars. The L/D ratio of flower was more than 2.0 in the Austin, Brightwell, Powderblue, Southland, Tifblue, and Brigitta cultivars, and this could be disadvantageous for pollination. The 28 blueberry cultivars were classified into two groups by the cluster analysis based on growth period and morphological characteristics. Group I included rabbiteye blueberries and Group II included highbush blueberries. However, the northern, southern, and half-highbush blueberry cultivars were not differentiated.

Growth and Fruit Characteristics of Grape 'Campbell Early' by Securing Planting Distance (재식거리 확보에 의한 '캠벨얼리' 포도의 생육 및 과실 특성)

  • Shoot and the fruit growth characteristics of 'Campbell Early' grape cultivar were investigated after vine thinning using the main branch leader. Before vine thinning, branch diameter was 11.8 mm, but it decreased to 9.3 mm after vine thinning. The number of shoots per vine increased to 55.9-64.5 after vine thinning. The number of fruit clusters per shoot was higher (1.5-1.75) in the vine thinning plot than in the control (0.8). Consequently, the number of clusters per vine was 98.1-106.5 in the vine thinning plot, while that in the control was 24.4-28.0. However, soluble sugar content (SSC) and tartaric acidity showed no significant differences between the control and the vine thinning plot. The proportion of >351 g fruit cluster weight after vine thinning (81.0%) was significantly higher than that of the control (32.5%). These results imply that fruit quality based on the variation in cluster weight and fruit yield was enhanced by vine thinning using the main branch leader.

Relationships among Physical Environment of Childcare Centers, Teachers' Creative Teaching Approaches, and Young Children's Creativity Level (보육시설의 물리적 환경 및 교사의 창의적 역할수행과 유아 창의성간의 관계)

  • This study examined the interactive effects of physical environment of childcare centers and teachers' creative teaching approaches on the level of young children's creativity. To do so, the study conducted an assessment called TCAM(Thinking Creativity in Action and Movement) that was developed by Torrance to 182 young children. Also, it utilized questionnaires to ask 28 teachers concerning physical environment of childcare centers and their creative teaching approaches level. The findings of this study were: First, the gender of young children didn't affect the level of young children's creativity but the age of young children positively affected the level of their imagination that is the subordinate area of creativity. Second, the high level of physical environment of childcare centers positively affected the level of young children's creativity. Third, teachers' actively creative teaching approaches positively affected the level of young children's creativity. Forth, both physical environment of childcare centers and teachers' creative teaching approaches interactively and positively influenced the level of young children's creativity. Fifth, both physical environment of childcare centers and teachers' creative teaching approaches positively affected the level of young children's creativity. The result of this study implies that the level of young children's creativity increases when childcare centers demonstrate high quality of physical environment and teachers deliver creative teaching approaches actively.

The Relation of Resilience, Positive Psychological Capital and School Adaptation of Middle School Students of Broken Family (결손가족 중학생과 일반가정 중학생의 긍정심리자본과 학교생활적응의 비교)

  • This study is to testify the differences between middle school students of normal and broken family and the effect of positive psychological capital on their school life adaptation. The main results are as follows. First, the middle school students of broken family showed lower level in self-efficacy, hope, resilience and optimism (positive psychological capital) than students of normal family. Second, the middle school students of broken family also showed lower level in school adaptation than students of normal family. Third, positive psychological capital was positively correlated with school adaptation in both groups of them. Fourth, self-efficacy, hope and optimism positively influenced school adaptation in students of normal family, only hope of positive psychological capital did it in students of broken family. It seemed that especially hope of positive psychological capital of broken family's students was very important and should be focused in planning and practicing interventions for them. The limitation and future tasks were discussed.

A Theoretical Approach to the Nursing of Tae-Yang Symptom (한방에서의 태양병환자 간호를 위한 이론적 접근)

  • In order to nursing practice of the patient in Oriental medicine, it is suggested that the fundamental recognition of Oriental medicine should be preceded. It is, however, difficult that we comprehend Oriental medicine generally since it is different from Western medicine in the point of th symptom. We have thought that is to be carried out to select and analyze a disease by the sense of Oriental medicine for the establishment of Oriental medical nursing. So we have tried out the analysis of Tae-Yang In view of the results so far achieved, it has been suggested that Tae-Yang Symptom applies to the first step of Sanghan Yug Kyung Symptom and consists of Palsy, Sanghan, Onbyung, Dropsy, and Congestion. In the Oriental medicine, Tae-Yang Symptom is recognized to be concerned with a common cold and the respiratory, renal and hepatic diseases. In the points of Orintal medicine, it is noticed that Tae-Yang Symptom is caused by the wind and cold evil, is related to human resisting force, and is fused with each other. And the treatment of Tae-Yang Symptom is various by the cause and the pathological mechanism. In the points of Western medicine. it is difficult to comprehend that various disease germs revolving each disease are implied by identical symptom. The summary of this study are as follows ; 1. In the outer-caused diseases. so called Tae-Yang Symptom, it is an important index to the patient's resisting force and the type of a disease whether he sweats, chills and the pulse is tense or not. 2. The treatments are various according the body's resisting force and the type of symptoms; harmonizing Yung & Wee(調榮衛) to Weaknees of surface(表虛證), sudorifics flourishing of evils(表實證), and antifebriles to On-byung(溫病). 3. If Tae-Yang Symptom is not cured, it progresses to develop complications ; Dropsy(蓄水) & congestion(蓄血), the former brings about renal diseases and the latter hepatic diseses. According to the resuslts mentioned above, we have come to the conclusion that the Oriental - medical nursing must emphasis the body's sesiting force and the type of symptoms rather than the name of a disease.
