The Factors Affecting the Intention of Career Discontinuity of a Married Women Dental Hygienist (기혼 여성 치과위생사의 경력단절 의사에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • The purpose of this study to find out factors that affect intention of career discontinuity among dental hygienists. The data was collected from 300 dental hygienists working at dental clinics. The total of 281 copies were used for analysis. Statistical analysis was performed using PASW Statistics 18.0 at the 5% significance level. T-test, ANOVA, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, hierarchical regression analyses were applied in this analysis. The results were as follows: 1. As for intention of career discontinuity by general characteristics, there were statistically significant difference according to age, duration of employment, children, children age and monthly income (p<0.05). 2. As for intention of career discontinuity by job awareness, there were statistically significant difference according to turnover, work-life, retirement age of dental hygienist, duration of job maintenance and re-employment of dental hygienist (p<0.05). 3. As for hierarchical regression analysis of the factors affecting the intention of career discontinuity, the support from employer had most significant influence on intention of career discontinuity (p<0.05). In order to decrease the career discontinuity among dental hygienists, plans that can increase the work-environment should be implemented by improving support from employer.

The effect of work-family conflict on depression in married working women. (직장 기혼 여성의 일-가정 갈등이 우울에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of work-family conflict factors on depression in Korean married women. For the analysis of the research, we were used in the 5th year data of Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families. The subjects of this study were married women who were living with their husbands and wage workers, and the final analysis was 1,299. As a hierarchical regression analysis result, the work-family conflict of the working married women had a significant effect on depression. Especially, conflict from family to work has the highest effect on depression(${\beta}=.150$, p<0.01). This study suggests that traditional gender role pressures can have a negative impact on the mental health of working women. Therefore, it is necessary to take appropriate social policy measures to alleviate work-family conflicts of married working women.

A study on the child education experiences of married female students who left their children in their home countries for study abroad (모국에 자녀를 둔 기혼 여자유학생의 자녀교육 경험에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the child education experiences of married female students who left their children in their home countries. This study consists of two questions. First, what is the meaning of the child in home country for married female students to their foreign student's life? Second, how they do the child education? For this study data was collected from March to May, 2016 through in-depth interviews with 6 married female students who left their children in their home countries to further their studies in Korea. Then, the data was analyzed their cases were analyzed. First, for married female students their children are always in the first place during their life as a foreign student in Korea. Second, their children play a great role in their foreign student life. Third, the child makes them to be exemplary student in their foreign student's life. In addition, children's education is entrusted to those who are raising them in their home country. However, when big decisions have to be made, it is done by the mother. Also, because they feel sorry towards their children they actively reflect the views of the children. Moreover, they often check everything about their children through SNS. Through this study, we expect to less school life's difficulty of foreign married students and it will be helpful material for them to graduate their foreign students' life. The purpose of this study is to explore the child education experiences of married female students who left their children in their home countries.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the mother and daughter-in-laws relationship perceived by married man playing the role of eldest son. This study relied on the qualitative research method in order to approach the most inside of the very complicate and delicate human relationship such as mother and daughter-in-laws one. The data for this study was collected by the depth interviews. The finding was that married man perceived mother and daughter-in-laws relationship as a competitive relationship between women.

A Study on Family Functions and Life Satisfaction according to the Types of Family Rituals with Married Women (기혼여성의 가족의례 구성요소에 따른 가족기능과 삶의 만족도에 대한 연구)

  • This study examined the family functions and satisfaction of life according to the types of family rituals and investigated the effects of family rituals on family function and satisfaction of life. The survey questionnaire was administered to 136 married women. SPSS Win program with MANOVA and Multiple Regression Analysis was used for data analysis. The main study findings were as follows. (1)The types of family rituals were significantly different according to age and satisfaction of life was significantly different according to the levels of family economy. (2)The influence of family ritual on family functions differed according to the subtype of family rituals. (3)The influence of family ritual on satisfaction of life differed according to the subtype of family rituals. This study indicated that it is necessary to develop affect, routine, and deliberateness for increasing family function and life satisfaction in married women.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to explore in depth and deeply the nature and meaning of the academic experience that married nursing graduate students have experienced in their Convergence roles. Methods: Giorgi(2004) method was used the four-step data analysis procedure following the technological phenomena. Participants were four nursing doctoral students who were involved in work, child-care. and education. Data collection was conducted through two in-depth interviews with participants from October to November 2017. Results: Data analysis was structured into 12 concepts and 5 categories, centered on thinking, feelings, and changes in life for study before and after entering graduate school. The five categories are 'I enjoy flying more than anyone', 'I am different from them', 'A solitary journey toward a dream', 'Family is my strength' and 'I have a dream.' Conclusions: In order to help married nurses improve their professionalism, it is necessary to build a support system for the family, improvement of the organizational culture, and a socially practical support system.

A study of the impact of the married life of married women from the baby boom generation on the Happiness Index (베이비붐세대 기혼여성의 부부생활이 행복지수에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is about the happiness of married women from the baby boom generation. The study aims to understand the impact of the married life of such women on the happiness index and to improve the happiness of married women by improving married life. The data for this study were drawn from the National Women and Family Panel Survey (4th year data) carried out by the Korean Women's Development Institute. The subjects for the final analysis totaled 885 married women from the baby boom generation, born between 1955 and 1963. Of these, 550 were married women in a dual income family, and 335 were married women in a husband-income family. IBM SPSS Statistic 21.0 was used. The findings from this study are as follows: First, the women's happiness index was higher in cases where the women had a more positive view of their husbands, the more often they were involved in leisure activities, the better their conflict resolution whenever there was a clash of opinions, and the more satisfied they were with the division of household labor. Second, in the case of dual income families, the women's happiness index was higher where they had a positive view of their husbands, their conflicts were better resolved, and the more satisfied they were with the division of household labor. Third, in the case of married women in a husband-income family, their happiness index rose the more positively they perceived their husbands, the more often they were involved in leisure activities together, and the more satisfied they were with the division of household labor.
