이 글은 1970년 11월 7일 이화여자대학교 도서관에서 개최된 ‘한국도서관학회 제1회 학술발표회’에서 발표된 필자의 발표논문 요지이다. 이 논문은 원래 ‘표의 구조론에 입각한 우리 나라 저자기호법의 연구’와 ‘저자기호법에 있어서 한글의 기호삼기 문제에 대하여-기호법의 요건과 Syllabic Notation의 원리에 입각한 고찰-’과 ‘동서저자 기호표(제2판, 개정판)의 구성원리와 사용원칙’이란 제목으로 되어 있는 세편의 독립된 논문인데 동학회 학술발표회를 위하여 Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,으로 요약하여 발효한 것이다. 이 논문들의 지상발표는 Ⅰ은 한국도서관학회지 제1집에, Ⅱ는 연세학교 Ⅱ‘인문과학’ 제24집(1970년 12월)에, Ⅲ은 본 기관지에 각각 실릴 예정이다.

수학적 기호는 수학이라는 특수한 분야에 한정되어 사용되는 언어라고 할 수 있다. Usiskin(1996)은 수학을 쓰고 수학적 의미를 의사 소통하는 데에 기호가 그 수단이 되기 때문에 수학 또한, 수학적 기호로 만들어진 언어라고 말하였다. 그러나, 수학적 언어와 일상 언어사이의 이중성 때문에 언어로써 수학 기호는 학생들을 힘들게 만든다. 교사에게는 의미 있는 기호일지라도 학생들에게는 친숙하지 않을 수 있기 때문에, 많은 학생들이 자신들의 수학적 사고를 표현하거나 개념을 반영하거나 또는 아이디어를 확장하기 위해, 수학을 말하고, 읽고, 이해하고 쓰는 데에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구는 학생들이 기호체계에 능숙해지도록 도와주고, 수학 학습과 문제 해결을 위해 수학 기호 언어가 의미 있고 접근하기 쉬운 의사소통 매체가 되게 하기 위하여 언어적 접근에 의하여 수학적기호의 교수-학습지도 방법에 대하여 살펴보고자 한다.

Mathematical thinking can be symbolized by the external signs, and these signs determine in reverse the form of mathematical thinking. Each symbol - a symbol in algebra, a symbol in analysis, and a diagram which verifies syllogism - reflects the diverse characteristic of cogitation in mathematics and perfirms a heuristic function.

Book numbers can be defined as the device for providing a unique self location for each book. They should include main entry which consists of author, title, the date of publication. Now, the university libraries are using eleven different methods on book numbers, in other words, nine eastern methods and two western methods. The aim of this study is to investigate problems that the present book number system has and some concerns that should be taken into account in case of the modification of the book number system and change into a new one. This study is based on the survey in that the librarian gave to 110 university libraries throughout the nation. As a result, the survey indicates that the crucial concerns of the participathing libraries are ineffective book management and the duplication of book numbers. In addition, the survey indicates that the priorities of the libraries is removing duplicated numbers, adhering to the current system, and keeping the same book arrangement system. Therefore, this study suggests the components for the expansion of the book number system and the necessity of standardization of diverse book numbers.

In this paper, the inputting method of english pronunciation for a computer by the combining diacritical mark is studied. English pronunciation system and the methods of its notations are investigated and conditions to input english pronunciations easily are analysed. Therefore, the inputting method which can input 3, 4-level stress as well as 2-level stress is presented. By using this method, English pronunciation can be inputted to the spreadsheets, databases and presentations as well as word-processors, and each application program's data can have compatibility. In the result of experiments, every data can have the compatibility in all of application programs and inputting speed is increased highly compare with using the individual vowel method which has high speed than using the pre-existing functions of word processors.

Semiotic theory plays a vital role in the cognition of realistic films. Realistic films aim to reflect events and situations in real life, and arouse the audience's thinking about real problems through realistic depiction. In this process, the theory of semiotics helps to reveal the symbolic elements in the film and the profound meaning behind them. This study focused on the realism movie 도 가 니 "(Silenced), on the basis of the theory of saussure's semiotics, combined with its proposed the concept of "signifier" and "mean", through the study of arbitrariness and secondary film symbol sign system, designed to dig deeper into the symbolic meanings in the movie, and their cultural significance and social evaluation. By analyzing the implied narrative structure, meaning structure and ideology in the film, this paper probes into the influence and effect of mass culture on society and reveals the potential information conveyed by symbols in the film. This study aims to provide creative insights and explanations to provide useful references for research in related fields.

Man is confronted with a lot of unknowable phenomena in his life. With the passage of time, man has interpreted the world by the accumulation of experience and development of thought. In the early days of the civilization when all the phenomena was not explained in a scientific way, man was dependent of the psycho-cultural interpretation by the accumulation of experience. Folk-Belief is one of the psycho-cultural interpretation about the nature. If Folk-Belief is paraphrased in a semiotic way, it is as follows : 'the traditional expression which believes that one or several sign and condition show one or several effects.' In this respect, Folk-Belief is the interpretation about the nature, man and society, as it were, the world. Folk-Belief is folkloristic semiotics. This article intends to clarify the process of Folk-Belief formation process. To investigate the Folk-Belief formation process, this article regards Folk-Belief as an interpretant which is the term from the semiotic theory of C. S. Peirce. Peirce explains the incessant semiosis that sign brings forth sign through the trichotomy relation among sign - object - interpretant. Folk-Belief is explained by the general characteristics of interpretant of Peirce when we regard Folk-Belief as an interpretant. By Peirce, Folk-Belief is 'something which believes that human mind represents something about some phenomena' The category of 'some phenomena' is included in a range of semiotics, we can look into Folk-Belief in a semiotic way.

This study was conducted to investigate the acceptance of vegetable menus by high school students and the factors that influence the acceptability. Second-grade high school students (n=389) in Seoul were asked to assess their acceptability of vegetable menus and plate waste, and answered survey questions concerning their demographic characteristics, health-related attitudes, dietary attitudes, dietary habits, and nutritional knowledge. Overall, the menus containing items that were sweet or familiar to the subjects were preferred. Acceptability was significantly associated with the amount of consumption. The acceptability was correlated with dietary habits, dietary attitudes, nutritional knowledge, and several health-related variables. The vegetable-liking groups showed significantly higher scores concerning dietary habits, dietary attitudes, and nutritional knowledge, but did not exhibit a specific pattern of association with the health-related variables. This result implies that intervention strategies focusing on changes in cognitive and/or hedonic factors, such as nutritional education or flavor-flavor learning, would be beneficial for increasing students' acceptance of vegetable menus.

As for the public, it is hard to understand semiotics because of the scope of an enormous semiotics education. This study is making semiotics of Charles Sanders Peirce the subject. I thought that utilization can hold his semiotics study in a visual design field. First of all, this study considered design related papers related to the existing semiotics again and study found an error of the existing semiotics study and understanding did category concept with re-definition about semiotics of Peirce. Explained a symbol mark through understanding of semiotics of Peirce. This study was able to get the following conclusion through these results. 1) A symbol mark means one product, sonics, company oneself with a custom. Therefore, it is a rule symbol in the Representation side. 2) A symbol mark symbolizes an object with one symbol, so a symbol mark is a symbol in an object. 3) Because a symbol mark exists through a social rule, in semiotics definition of Peirce, this must become understanding with a Argument symbol. 4) A symbol mark is what a company or an organization field used from the past, and the public are recognizing this how. Therefore, it works as fact a company attaches a symbol mark to own product, and to show the public a symbol mark. A symbol mark is Dicent Sign in Interpretant. A rule and understanding about a lot of types which have various mutual relation, Peirce classification and understanding of a symbol mark tells to demand is holding that understanding a type of semiotics with the concept that is not an image to us.
