  • 기 발표된 보문에서, 정수두압이 작용하는 수갱측벽의 두께 산정과 수갱굴하의 특성을 간략하게 설명하였다. 이 두 부문에 대해서는 계속 다루어 나갈 예정이며, 본 회부터는 수갱굴하의 원론적인 문제도 다루기도 한다. 광산이나 탄광의 수갱은, 심부에 부존하는 광체 또는 탄층에서 채굴된 광물과, 갱도굴진에서 나온 버럭을 권양하고, 작업인원, 제반 자재, 압기동력원이 되는 전기, 급수 등을 공급하여 안전한 갱내작업을 유지하기 위한 통기회로를 형성시키고, 또한 갱내수를 배출하는 다목적의 대동맥과 같은 역할을 하는, 말하자면 광산의 가장 핵심체이다. 국내외 지구과학 교과서의 지질 연대와 국제 지질 연대 자료의 검토

  • 제7차 교육과정에 따라서 집필된 지구과학 I, II 교과서와 국내외 각종 지구과학 교재의 지질 연대 자료를 검토하였다. 지구과학 I, II 교과서의 자료는 대부분 최신의 자료가 아니며, 많은 자료들은 지질학 원론과 지구과학 개론 등의 국내 대학 교재에 제시된 수 십년 전의 자료를 그대로 따랐다. 또한 외국 대학의 지구과학 또는 지질학 개론서의 경우에서도 유사하게 수 십년 전의 자료를 제시하고 있다. 최근 국제 층서 위원회(ICS)에 의하여 연구 제시된 국제 층서 챠트(ICS 2000), 국제 지질 연대표(IGTS 2003) 및 지질 연대표(GTS 2004) 등의 많은 새로운 자료들이 제시되어 있다. 새로운 자료 중에서 중요한 것들에는 신생대의 고제3기와 신제3기, 석탄기의 미시시피아세와 펜실베니아세, 원생이언의 고원생대, 중원생대 및 신원생대 그리고 시생이언의 시시생대, 고시생대, 중시생대 및 신시생대를 들 수 있다. 이들 새로운 지질 연대 자료는 새로운 지구과학 교과서 집필시 인용되어야 할 것이다.

A study on the definition and proof of the circumcenter of a triangle (삼각형의 외심 정의와 증명에 관한 고찰)

  • The circumcenter of a triangle is introduced in logic geometry part of 8th grade mathematics. To handle certain characteristics of a figure through mathematical proof may involve considerable difficulty, and many students have greater difficulties especially in learning textbook's methods of proving propositions about circumcenter of a triangle. This study compares the methods how the circumcenter of a triangle is explored among the Elements of Euclid, a classic of logic geometry, current textbooks of USA and those of Korea. As a result of it, this study tries to abstract some significant implications on teaching the circumcenter of a triangle.

The study of monistic mind-nature theory of Nog-Moon Yim Seong-Joo (녹문 임성주의 일원적(一原的) 심성론(心性論) 연구)

  • Nog-Moon Yim Seong-Joo(녹문 임성주) is a philosopher of late Choseon Dynasty of the 18th Century. He concluded that the debates between the school of Ho and that of Rack originated from the seclusion of Li(理) and Ki(氣), and theorized the new Li and Ki theory according to his own perspective. The prime point of Nog-Moon's Philosophy is said to be Li-Ki dongshil(理氣同實), Mind and Nature ilchi(心性一致) ; he proves his prime potints based on his pure and clean Ki substance. Thus Li-Ki is reduced to monism from dualism, and Mind-Nature(心 性) is reduced to mind. Since the basis of the existence of Mind is Ki(氣), Nog-moon's theory of Substance is concluded to be Ki-monism. Nog-Moon presents his great philosophy of Ki monism suggested by Jeong Myeong-Do's monistic methodology; he explains the universality of Substance and the diversity of Phenomenon with the logical structure of ilwonbunsu(一原分殊). The characteristics of Nog-Moon's philosophy is that ilwon(一原) and bunsu(分殊) are bonnyeon(本然) identical, which means Substance and Function(體用) are identical, or bonmalilchi(本末一致). It means Mind and Nature are bonnyeon(本然) identical, Ki and Mind and Nature are identical. With the expression of seongrihak (性理學) Gijil(氣質) is not different from bonnyeon(本然). Therefore 1 define the philosophy of Nog-Moon had been built on the context of a sage.

A Study on the Historic-Genetic Principle of Mathematics Education(1) - A Historic-Genetic Approach to Teaching the Meaning of Proof (역사발생적 수학교육 원리에 대한 연구(1) - 증명의 의미 지도의 역사발생적 전개)

  • We have many problems in the teaching and learning of proof, especially in the demonstrative geometry of middle school mathematics introducing the proof for the first time. Above all, it is the serious problem that many students do not understand the meaning of proof. In this paper we intend to show that teaching the meaning of proof in terms of historic-genetic approach will be a method to improve the way of teaching proof. We investigate the development of proof which goes through three stages such as experimental, intuitional, and scientific stage as well as the development of geometry up to the completion of Euclid's Elements as Bran-ford set out, and analyze the teaching process for the purpose of looking for the way of improving the way of teaching proof through the historic-genetic approach. We conducted lessons about the angle-sum property of triangle in accordance with these three stages to the students of seventh grade. We show that the students will understand the meaning of proof meaningfully and properly through the historic-genetic approach.

  • In this study, the authors aimed to give careful consideration to the circulation of bioenergy (Qi) by using cardiorespiratory massage technique. Finding enlightenment in harmony with nature thousands of years ago, our ancestors created Qi using natural breathing and tried to achieve good health and long life by controling the up and down movement. Experiencing the importance of the abdomen during the hungry times, also, grandmothers cured diseases by rubbing the abdomen, which is the ocean of life with their soft, soothing touch of hand. Naval breathing therapy was formed, based on natural breathing, emotional recognition of grandmothers' soft, soothing touch, and the Theory of Unified Reason and Energy that is the key of Oriental medicine. Natural breathing and Yakson massage are kinds of naturopathy to change body and mind, cure diseases naturally, and maintain the improvement in physical functions by taking care of the abdomen through the creation of Qi and the up and down movement and keeping dynamic balance between the natural world and the inside and outside of human body. It is anticipated that this study could contribute to the practical spread for an active application of naval breathing therapy and be broadly used in scientific clinical researches.

Review on the Geologic Time Scale in Earth Science Textbooks of Korea and Other Countries and on the International Geologic Time Scale (국내외 지구과학 교과서의 지질 연대와 국제 지질 연대 자료의 검토)

  • Numerical data of the geological time scale in Earth Science I, II textbooks and those of University textbooks of Korea and other countries are briefly reviewed. Numerical data of the geologic time scale shown in Earth Science I, II textbooks are mostly out of date and many of them follow those in the University textbooks of Korea. The same situation is apparent for introductory Earth Science or Geology textbooks of other countries as old data exist in their text books as well. There are many new data in the International Stratigraphic Chart (ISC 2000) and International Geologic Time Scale (IGTS 2003) recently updated by International Commission on Stratigraphy (ICS) and A Geologic Time Scale (GTS 2004). Among the new data, some important things are Paleogene and Neogene Periods of Cenozoic Era, Mississippian and Pensilvanian Epochs of Carborniferous Period, Paleoproterozoic, Mesoproterozoic, and Neoproterozoic Eras of Proterozoic Eon, and Eoarchean, Paleoarchean, Mesoarchean, and Neoarchean Eras of Archean Eon. These new data should be used in the new Earth Science textbooks.

  • This study is about the Data which is one of Euclid's writing. It dealt with the organization of contents, formal system and mathematical meaning. First, we investigated the organization of contents of the Data. Second, on the basis of this investigation, we analyzed the formal system of the Data. It contains the analysis of described method of definition, proposition, proof and the meaning of 'given'. Third, we explored the mathematical meaning of the Data which can be classified as algebraic point of view, geometric point of view and the opposite point of view to 'The Elements'.

Golden Section Found in Hand Axe (주먹 돌도끼에 나타난 황금비)

  • The purpose of this paper, followed by 'Nature$\cdot$Human, and Golden Section I ', is to study aesthetic consciousness, mentality model and body proportion of human, and the golden section applied to architecture and hand axe of stone age. In particular, handaxes of one million years ago have shown that they had critical competency to the basis of art and mathematics in the future. Furthermore, without pen, paper and ruler, the existence of mentality model made fundamental conversion of mathematics possible. Different sizes of handaxes were made by maintaining the equal golden section. This was the first example in relation to the principle mentioned in 'Stoicheia' by Euclid which was published hundred thousands of years later.

  • This study is the consideration to 'The Data' and 'On Divisions' of Euclid which is the historical start of analysis and synthesis. 'The Data' and 'On Divisions' compared to Euclid's Elements is not interested. In this study, analysis and synthesis were examined for significance. In this study, means for 'analysis' and 'synthesis' were examined through an analysis of 'The Data' and 'On Divisions'. First, the various terms including analysis and synthesis were examined and the concepts of the terms were analyzed. Then, analysis was divided into 'external analysis' and 'internal analysis'. And synthesis was divided into 'theoretical synthesis' and 'empirical synthesis'. On the basis of this classification problem presented in elementary textbooks and the practical applications were explored.
