  • The purpose of this study is to develop a model for a medical information website for public library use. Applying the six processes of website development - planning, analysis, design implementation, promotion, and innovation as a research methodology, seven medical information websites are analyzed. The evaluating criteria includes interface layout, contents, function aspects. Based on the results, a medical information website is implemented. This developing methodology will help nonprofessionals in the medical information area understand interface and domain Information.

  • The use of lasers in medicine has opened up entirely new fields of therapy and diagnosis. The process in biotechnical applications of laser is basically different from traditional one in other technical field because of critical account to the human body. This paper surveys the principle of biomedical applications as well as possible future developments in laser medicine. In particular, the following subjects are extensively presented : 1) laser-tissue interaction, 2) therapeutic, and diagnostic technique, 3) laser op tical fiber for medicine, and 4) laser safety.

  • The basic medical subjects are essential for the understanding of the major in the department of health science and are very important. Anatomy is one of the fundamental areas of medical education. On the other hand, the application of new teaching method is being attempted in various fields. Station rotation model, one of the blended learning, is also one of the popular teaching method. Station rotation model allows students to rotate through stations on a fixed schedule, where at least one of the stations is an online learning station. This study investigate the satisfaction of students when applying station rotation model to anatomy class. Each station in the station rotation model consisted of VR application learning, online problem solving, model observation and oral test. After applying station rotation model (2 weeks) to the 'Functional anatomy and Practice' course taken by 37 students of the'Department of Occupational Therapy'at H University, this study conducted a satisfaction survey compare with lecture class for students taking the course. At the result, station rotation model was significantly higher than lecture class in both understanding, interest, concentration and diversity degree. Based on these results, I suggest applying the station rotation model to the anatomy class because it also showed high satisfaction in that.

A pilot study for target selection of Korean Medicine public health promotion programs on single person, low income, senior households: Based on the 2017 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to explore the general characteristics and health risk factors of the low income single person household in elderly Korean population for target selection of Korean medicine public health promotion program. Methods : We collect the 826 low income over 65 years old participants data from 7th Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. The demographic, life habit, health status, medical history were used to compare the difference between single and multiple low income senior households. Results : All variables except drinking and smoking were statistically significant between single and multiple low income senior households. The health risk factors in single low income senior households were gender, overweight, Medicaid, annual drinking habit, diagnosis of diabetes. Conclusions : Through this study, we found out that the overweight, monthly drinking habit, diagnosis of diabetes were health risk factors in low income senior single households.
