This study explored the tendencies of public perception and countermeasures on an aging society by the content analysis of Korea's four major daily newspapers since 2000. Results showed distinguishing growth of the public interest on an aging society. Articles were categorized into five domains - demographic structure, family and individual domain, health domain, economic and financial domain, and social domain. Economic and financial aspects occupied the highest frequency in the total number of articles. The analysis of public perception revealed both negative and positive perspectives on an aging society. In addition, the analysis of the newspaper articles identified particular phenomenon of Korean aging society as distinct rapid aging population, declining fertility rates caused by higher educational expenses, national security problems. Consequently, when we prepare for the alternatives of the aging society, we should pay attention to more various aspects of society based on the understanding of practical problems and needs. Furthermore, researches and discussions focusing on a particular phenomenon of Korea would be required.

Sungnyemun Gate, Korea's National Treasure No.1, was destroyed by fire on February 10, 2008 and has been re-opened to the public again as of May 4, 2013 after a reconstruction work. Sungnyemun Gate become a national issue and draw public attention to be a major topic on news or research. In this research, text mining and association rule mining techniques were used on keyword of newspaper articles related to Sungnyemun Gate as a cultural heritage from 2002 to 2016 to find major keywords and keyword association rule. Next, we analyzed some typical and specific keywords that appear frequently and partially depending on before and after the fire and newpaper companies. Through this research, the trends and keywords of newspapers articles related to Sungnyemun Gate could be understood, and this research can be used as fundamental data about Sungnyemun Gate to information producer and consumer.

The side effects of drug is closely linked to the people's health and professional. In this case, press report is very important in evaluating the side effects of drug and people's attitude of government's health policy. This study analyzed press report on the side effects of drug based on the main theme, source, responsibility attribution on crisis, frame and network analysis. Theses is a difference of main theme between the press. Daily newspaper focused on the occurrence of crisis and economical newspaper focused on the manufacture company. Professional paper focused on the criticizing of the health policy. The main source of the press on the side effects of drug is the Congressman. There are few articles which mentions about the crisis responsibility. However most articles mentioned that the subject of crisis solutions is the manufacturer. This study found the main meaning by network analysis. This study highlighted the government's crisis management based on the result of content analysis and network analysis.

News articles and blog posts have influence on social agenda setting and this study applied text mining on the subject of solar PV in rural area appeared in those media. Texts are gained from online news articles and blog posts with rural solar PV as a keyword by web scrapping, and these are analysed by sentiment analysis and topic modeling technique. Sentiment analysis shows that the proportion of negative texts are significantly lower in blog posts compared to news articles. Result of topic modeling shows that topics related to government policy have the largest loading in positive articles whereas various topics are relatively evenly distributed in negative articles. For blog posts, topics related to rural area installation and environmental damage are have the largest loading in positive and negative texts, respectively. This research reveals issues related to rural solar PV by combining sentiment analysis and topic modeling that were separately applied in previous studies.

In a newspaper, 5W1H information is the most fundamental and important element for writing and understanding articles. Focusing on such a relation between a newspaper article and the 5W1H, we propose a summarization method based on the activation degree of 5W1H. To overcome problems of the lead-based and the title-based methods, both of which are known to be the most effective in newspaper summarization, sufficient 5W1H information is extracted from both a title and a lead sentence. Moreover, for each sentence, its weight is computed by considering various factors, such as activation degree of 5W1H, the number of 5W1H categories, and its length and position. These factors make a great contribution to the selection of more important sentences, and thus to the improvement of readability of the summarized texts. In an experimental evaluation, the proposed method achieved a precision of 74.7% outperforming the lead-based method. In sum, our 5W1H approach was shown to be promising for automatic summarization of newspaper articles.

In 2013, the Japanese bookstore company CCC entrusted the management and operation of the library as the designated administrator of Takeo City Library. The library has a commercial facility in the hall and uses its own classification system. It was reported the number of visiting users was increased as 3.7 times in the first year of the reopening and it has attracted the attention of the public. The purpose of this study is to investigate the background, current status and operational characteristics of the Takeo City Library by conducting the literature review, content analysis of newspaper articles and interview survey on the library. As a result of the research, newspaper articles positively assessed the fact that the library provided a 'multicultural space' to small city residents, increased visitors, and local economic effects, but pointed out that the operating deficit continued, and the problem occurred in the selection of collections.

This study aims to analyze features of topics about AI(Artificial Intelligence) which is gaining a massive attention these days. Newspaper articles published from 2016 to June, 2017 were selected to analyze key subjects. The reason why the period was selected is people started to get attention on AI since 2016 as AlphaGo came out and gave a shock. The number of coded main message was 1,210 in 525 newspaper articles in total. The messages were categorized as three subject categories: the seven major categories, 62 middle categories. and minor categories. The seven major categories contains issues such as AI research, AI application, AI business, AI era, AI argument, AlphaGo, and other topics. The first features of issues about AI found in the major subject categories is that they are various and complicate. Second, it is important that social and policy-level issues related AI, such as job losses, misuse, and error should be dealt with to utilize AI safely. Last, issues related the role of human and revolution of education system in the AI era were shown as subjects which are important but hard to discuss.

In this study, quantitative and content analysis was conducted on 37,818 news articles that were reported on the subject of 'library' for 29 years from 1990 to 2018 in order to analyze the tendency of media coverage about 'library'. First, the quantitative change in media coverage was analyzed according to the criteria by time, subject and media type. In addition, keyword frequency analysis and semantic network analysis were conducted to analyze the trends of the contents of the press and the frames inherent in the press. The results showed that the media showed a major interest in the library's informational, educational, and cultural functions, and the trend of the subject's interest was generally consistent with that of the library community, except for the issue of librarianship. Lastly, the main attitudes that the media take toward the reporting of library articles were the reporting and advertising functions.

사건, 사고 관련 기사의 요약은 단순히 원문이 무엇을 말하는 가를 지시하는 것보다 가능한 요지를 판독하면서 필요한 정보를 누락시키지 않고 표현할 수 있는 것이 바람직하다. 이를 위하여 본 논문에서는 사건, 사고 관련 기사의 자동 요약문 생성을 위한 중간 개념 표현 방법을 제안한다. 단락 자동 구분을 통한 중요 문장 추출을 거쳐 각 단락의 중심문장을 파악하고, 단락내의 정보들을 의미 파악된 중심 문장에 추가, 병합하여 단락의 내용을 대표하는 Paragraph Representation Structure(PRS)를 생성한다. 이들은 통합과정을 거쳐 하나의 Unified Representation Structure(URS)로 만들어지며, 이것은 중간 개념 표현으로 다국어 자동 요약문 생성을 위한 기반이 될 수 있다. 본 연구에 이용한 코퍼스는 비행기, 선박, 차량, 열차 사고와 화제 폭발 및 사건 관련 신문 기사를 대상으로 한다.
