Maul records reveal the nature of the residents' ordinary lives, help to closely examine the history and culture of the maul, and serve as cultural resources that supplement oral records. Collecting materials from maul records requires understanding the types, locations, and states of the records. Maul records should include records created by the local organizations, personal records by individuals, and records that evidence the history of the maul. The collection methods of maul records are categorized into regular collection, irregular collection, passive collection, and active collection. These records need to be locally conserved in the maul. They can enhance the residents' lives, and can be used to help produce books, posters, calendars, commercial advertisements, symbols, academic education, exhibitions, digital contents, and historical records. The archives of NDRM is an artificial collection. • Records related to a certain cultural heritage are concrete evidence that prove the value of the cultural heritage and become a criterion for long-term preservation of its records. The value of the records is as important as cultural heritage value. In the case of specific cultural heritage with national or socially important values, various studies are conducted on cultural heritage as one theme, and various programs about cultural heritage are developed. However, it is difficult to grasp the scope, record types, and contents of the records because they have been distributed and managed in many institutes. They also appear in various forms. As a solution to these problems, this study collected records of a major cultural heritage with social and historical values such as Hwangnyongsa from 11 public institutions and web services and analyzed the types of records, activities related to the records, and metadata. Through data analysis, an ontology that can understand the range and relationship of the entire record was suggested so that the record can be understood with a focus on specific cultural heritage.

  • Records management refers to a series of activities to achieve the goal of securing transparency in administration and safely preserving and utilizing records. Each process of record management is largely divided into production, preservation and management stage. The reporting system of record production has an important fuction that serves as a bridge between production stage and preservation and management stage. It was established after the enactment of the Act on Records Management of Public Agencies in 1999, to grasp the state of production and management of records of various organizations. Since then the National Archives of Korea(NAK) has been able to rather actively understand the situation of records and acquire them than simply collect them. The Act, which was revised in 2006, regulates electronically automated reporting methods in which the production reporting datas are generated in the record creation system and transferred to the record management system. Despite improvements in the system, electronic reporting methods are being used in part. The 713 public institutions have submitted reports of record production to the NAK in 2017, and this study analyses them of only 47 central administrative agencies, including departments, offices, agencies, and committees. Their reports have 15 forms which consist of production statistics and inventories of 7 types of records including general records, survey, research, review, minutes, shorthand, audiovisual records, secret records, government publications. This suggests implications for improving the reporting system of record production.
