An Investigation of Teaching Methods of Finding out the Greatest Common Divisor and the Least Common Multiple Focused on Their Meanings (최대공약수와 최소공배수를 구하는 과정에서 의미를 강조한 지도방안 탐색)

  • 'Divisor and multiple' is the topic included both in the elementary and in the secondary mathematics curriculum, but there has been lack of research on it. It has been reported that students have a difficulty in understanding the meaning of the greatest common divisor (GCD) and the least common multiple (LCM), while they can find out GCD and LCM. Against the lack of research on how to overcome this difficulty, this study designed teaching methods with a model for visualization to emphasize the meanings of divisor and multiple in finding out GCD and LCM, and implemented the methods in one fourth grade classroom. A questionnaire was developed to explore students' solution methods and interviews with focused students were implemented. In addition, fourth-grade students' thinking was compared and contrasted with fifth-grade students who studied divisor and multiple with the current textbook. The results of this study showed that the teaching methods with a specific model for visualization had a positive impact on students' conceptual understanding of the process to find out GCD and LCM. As such, this study provides instructional implications on how to foster the meanings of finding out GCD and LCM at the elementary school.

The Effects of Students' Perceptions of Classroom on Self-regulations Strategy Use, Persistent Intention, and Achievement in a Context of Online Science Gifted Education Program (온라인 과학탐구수업에서 학습자의 수업에 대한 인식이 자기조절전략 활용, 수강지속의사, 학업성취도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the effects of students'perceptions of classroom on self-regulatory strategy use, persistent intention, and achievement in an online Science gifted program. The sample included 434 middle and high school students who participated in the 3-months online gifted program. Participants volunteerly surveyed on their perceptions of classroom (appeal, challenge, choice, meaningfulness, academic self-efficacy), self-regulatory strategy use, and persistent intention. Student achievement data was collected from online learning system. Multiple Regression was conducted to analyze the effect of students'perceptions of classroom on various dependent variables. The results of this study showed that (1) students use of rehearsal strategy was positively related to academic self-efficacy among the sub-variables of students'perceptions of classroom and the use of rehearsal strategy was negatively related to challenge; (2) the use of elaboration strategy was positively related to challenge and meaningfulness; (3) the use of time management strategy was positively related to academic self-efficacy and the use of resource management strategy was positively related to challenge; and (4) students' persistent intention was related to appeal, challenge and meaningfulness, achievement was related to challenge.

  • 컨버전스(Convergence)란 단어는 집합, 집중, 수렴, 한 곳으로 모여짐 등의 뜻을 지닌 일반적인 용어로써 매우 발전해가고 있는 IT 분야에서 다양한 수요자의 욕구와 기술의 진화에 따라 최근에 매우 빈번하게 등장하고 있는 용어이자, 중요한 화두 중에 하나가 되고 있다. 이에 단어가 지니고 있는 일반적 의미를 다각적으로 분석함과 동시에 그 의미가 정보통신분야의 기술적 측면에서 또한 활용적인 측면에서 어떤 암시와 효과를 나타내고 있고, 나아가 IT 분야의 발전을 향한 목표 지향적인 측면에서의 역할이 가능한지와 또 다른 발전과 진화에 따라 어느 정도의 생명력과 경쟁력은 지닐 수 있는지를 살펴보고자 한다. 20세기 후반에 등장한 새로운 산업의 빅뱅이 되고 있는 IT 분야가 전세계로 확산, 발전되어감에 따라 수많은 일반적인 단어와 용어 들이 정보통신분야에서 도입, 활용하였고 이러한 용어들은 단어 자체의 의미 보다는 정보통신분야 발전의 현재와 미래를 규정해왔고, 나아가 정보통신 발전에 따른 혜택을 받는 전세계와 국내의 이용자들에게 많은 변화를 제공함과 동시에 연관분야의 산업에도 긍정적이던 부정적이던지 상호간 막대한 영향을 미쳐왔다고 분석된다. 이에 본 논문 자료는 IT 전문 용어가 아닌 일반적인 용어 중에서 IT 분야의 어떤 형태로든 영향을 미칠 용어 중에서 컨버전스란 단어를 통해 IT 분야의 현주소를 사례를 중심으로 분석, 점검하고 향후 IT 분야에서 컨버전스가 적용될 미래의 발전 모습을 전망하고자 하는데 있다.

  • This study look into the 3 stages which is distinguished by the usage of human in Man-Kyeong river. 'A nature based usage stage' is acknowledge the river itself and used only the tributary and built reservoir in a small scale from ancient to 1910s. 'A human based usage stage' is built the large scale reservoir at upper stream area and make the artificial waterway from 1920s. And the main stream is remodeled to protect the flood and get the agricultural land. 'A human and nature integration stage' is the main stream has a role not only the spill way but also clean water for inhabitants does together with river. The role and meaning of river is given newly. The development of technique and increase the need of the human is required the change in the role and meaning of river. The river is natural existence as it is, but the meaning and role is given by the human. Also it accompanied the change of the landscape in neighbor region. The natural river is controled the human life in the past, but it changed to social existence which is given the role and meaning by the human now.

Physiological and Psychological Effects of an Interior Falling Waterscape Facility on University Students (실내 계류형 수경시설이 대학생의 생리·심리에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to quantitatively examine the physiological and psychological effects of a waterscape facility in an interior landscape space. Data were collected as participants under stress relaxed in either an interior space with greenery(Type G) or an interior space with a waterscape facility(Type W). The participants relaxing in the Type W space showed significantly decreased systolic and diastolic blood pressures, and an impression evaluation by the SD method indicated that their impressions were expressed in more positive terms, such as 'vigor', 'dynamism', 'pleasantness', and 'vitality'; when compared to participants relaxing in the Type G space. A POMS analysis showed waterscape elements influenced participants' psychological mood states by decreasing tension and fatigue, but increasing vitality. Introduction of waterscape facilities into interior landscape spaces could therefore provide stressed individuals with health benefits, including decreased blood pressure and positively changed psychological mood states.

  • 기술적 혁신과는 달리 상징적 혁신(symbolic innovation)은 기존 제품에 부가된 사회적 의미가 변화함으로서 창조된다. 따라서, 상징적 혁신에서 새로운 사회적 의미와 관련된 속성은 기능적 속성만큼이나 중요하다. 본 연구는 상징적 혁신의 대표적인 의류제품을 이용, 패션혁신행동에 영향을 미치는 인지된 혁신속성(perceived innovation attributes)을 구별하고, 패션혁신행동의 두 유형(구매와 사용)에 미치는 이러한 속성의 영향을 고찰하였다. 대학생 집단을 표본으로 이용, 설문지 조사를 통해 수집된 515부의 응답지가 분석되었다. 인지된 혁신 속성은 유사성(compatibility), 기능적 상대적 잇점, 사회적 상대적 잇점, 인지된 위험으로 구분되었다. 의복흥미가 구매와 사용 두 측면의 패션혁신행동에 영향을 주었으나 인지된 혁신속성은 사용측면에만 영향을 주었다. 유사성과 기능적 상대적 잇점이 사용혁신행동에 긍정적 영향을, 인지된 위험이 부정적 영향을 미쳤다. 혁신속성이 영향을 미치지 않은 반면 의류소비정도가 구매혁신에 영향을 주었다. 본 연구의 결과는 사용혁신성이 높은 소비자는 구매혁신성이 높은 소비자보다 혁신속성의 평가에 더 관여한다는 것을 시사한다.

A Development of a Model for Estimating Traffic Delay in No-Passing Zone (추월금지구간의 지체시간 산정모형 개발)

  • 양방향 2차로 도로는 우리나라 전체 포장도로 연자의 84%를 차지하고 있다. 양방향 2차로 도로의 효율성 및 교통류의 운영상태를 파악하기 위한 서비스 수준 척도로 지체시간의 백분율이 많이 사용되고 있다. 지체시간의 산정은 특정 도로 설계구간을 추원금지구간으로 설계할 것이지, 예산을 더 투자하여 선형을 개선함으로써 추원가능 구간으로 설계할 것인지에 대한 판단 기준을 제시할 수 있기 때문에 도로설계과정에 있어서 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 저속차량의 확률적 분포를 고려하여 추원금지구간에서 발생하는 지체시간을 산정할 수 있는 모형을 제시하였다. 모형식이 기존에 확률적 분포를 고려하여 추월금지구간에서 발생하는 지체시간을 산정할 수 있는 모형을 제시하였다. 모형식이 기존에 개발된 거시적 수학적 모형에 비해 비교적 단순하고 입력변수도 수집이 용이한 점이 특징이라 할 수 있다. 모형의 신뢰성을 현장데이터를 이용하여 검증한 결과, 모혀으이 예측값이 근사적으로 츠덩한 실제 지체시간을 포함하는 긍정적인 결과를 도출하였다. 그러나 모형의 예측값 범위가 넓어 실용적인 MOE로 사용하기에 다소 무리가 있을 것으로 판단되므로, 개략적인 평가기준으로 모형이 예측한 값의 평균값을 보정하여 사용할 것을 제안한다. 모형의 신뢰성을 높이기 위해서는 본 연구에서 가정한 확률분포식에 대한 추가적인 검증이 필요할 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구는 실제 상황을 표현하는데 있어 확률적 개념의 도입과 이러한 새로운 접근방법의 기초를 마련한 측면에서 의미를 갖는다. 또한, 양방향 2차로 도로에서의 지체시간은 실제 소요시간과 자유운행시 즉 다른 차량의 영향을 받지 않았을 때의 속도 및 운영시간과의 차이로 정의한 바, 실제 지체시간을 현장자료를 통해 구하기란 현실적으로 불가능하므로, 본 연구에서는 이러한 제약점을 극복할 수 있는 근사적인 지체시간을 계산하는 방법을 제시한 점에서 의미를 갖을 수 있다.

  • This discussion can be said to be a qualitative study on the possibility of linking communication education for college students and literacy education for Korean language-linked educators based on the theory of interpretation of cognitive meaning of media text containing complex mechanisms. The implicit meaning of media content expression used as an interactive communication strategy will be accepted as a multilateral interpretation according to the individual learner's cognitive environment. If so, how is the general media content meaning intended by the content creator being accepted? These doubts are the starting point for discussion. To solve the problem, I leaned on the experimental pragmatic methodology of cognitive aesthetics and applied a model of relevance of cognitive linguistics to connect learners' creative cognitive environment and present content to find a contrast. As a result of the discussion, it was possible to establish a basic framework for learners to express their subjectivity and creative thinking that could connect the cognitive environment and present content themselves. In particular, active and positive learners also revealed direct descriptive expressions to build a new cognitive environment, such as suggesting a third alternative to argue the ability to question produced media texts and the validity of the meaning implied in the text. In the future, since media text containing complex mechanisms is an indirect and persuasive communication behavior that occurs easily through various media in modern society, the universal communication principle of reliable conversation between media text creators and audiences should exist.

  • 'Regardless of our consciousness, Color is the energy that we are affected by positively or negatively.' said Johannes Itten. When we see the color in nature, the color acts to our emotion most preferentially and most strongly. These experiences of color become symbol or icon to us and express states of his mind as allegory. The color of animation is the visual element of image media, the image which act as important meaning, the attribute of light, and visual-perceptional factor. With molding factor form, light and shade, the color function importantly as media which express a person and a person's circumstance. In animation, the color is used symbolically to suggest not only mental change of character but also the condition. The transmission of mental meaning express symbolism of the color iconically. Accordingly, the color for image express of animation take on universality. This study focus on how the symbolical meaning of the color is reflected in a work.

Death Recognition, Meaning in Life and Death Attitude of People Who Participated in the Death Education Program (죽음교육 프로그램 참여자의 죽음인식, 생의 의미 및 죽음에 대한 태도)

  • Purpose: This study was to identify the death recognition, meaning in life, and death attitude of participants in the death education program. Methods: A survey was conducted, and 205 data were collected. Descriptive statistics, ${\chi}^2$-test, ANOVA, and Duncan test were used. Results: 1) The followings were the characteristics of death recognition shown by the participants. Over half of the participants said that they had given some thoughts on their deaths, that they had agreeable view on death acceptance, and that diseases and volunteer works made them think about their deaths. Moreover, suffering, parting with family and concerns for them, etc. were the most common reasons for the difficulty of accepting death. As for 'the person whom I discuss my death with', spouse, friend, and son/daughter were the most chosen in this order. Lastly, the funeral type that most of the participants desired was cremation. 2) The means of meaning in life and death attitude were $2.92{\pm}0.29$ and $2.47{\pm}0.25$, respectively. There were significant differences between health status, meaning in life and death attitude. 3) A significant positive corelationship was found between meaning in life and death attitude (r=0.190, P=0.001). Conclusion: For an effective death education program that would fit each individual's situation, an educational content that can make a person understand the meaning of his or her life and death, includes knowledge to lessen the fear and anxiety of death, and helps a person heal from the loss of a family member is absolutely necessary.
