  • Over the last 10 years, significant changes have taken place in the world of container shipping. The size and the speed of the quay-side crane have been increased considerably. As a result, the stiffness of a crane is decreased and the sway oscillation of cargo may become violent. The purpose of this paper is to determine the design force caused by the sway oscillation of the cargo, lifted by four ropes, with an initial fleet angle, and the governing equations of the lifting system for an anti-sway control system design.

초대형 선박용 차세대 컨테이너 크레인의 설계기준 (Design Criteria of a Future Container Crane for Megaships)

  • In this paper, the design criteria of future container crane for megaships are investigated. The current loading/unloading capacity of a typical container crane, roughly 30 moves/hr, is too law to meet the requirements of future super containerships, which are expected over 15,000 TEU. After examining the transition of containerships through the years and studying the research trend in developed countries, the specifications of the container crane that can Meet a 15,000 TEU containership are proposed. The structure, trolley and hoist mechanism, outreach, backreach, capacity, speeds, durability, and stability of the future container crane are described.

  • 건강검진에서 혈압, 혈당과 더불어 빠지지 않는 항목이 바로 간 수치다. 흔히 간 수치가 높다 낮다 등으로 표현하는데, 정확한 의미를 아는 사람은 많지 않다. 간 수차(간 효소 수치)는 간이 얼마나 튼튼한지를 나타내는 척도다. 이 같은 간 수치를 알아보는 간 기능 검사는 1차적으로는 소변을 받고 혈액을 뽑으면 된다. 따라서 검사 전 금식은 필수다. 만약 1차 검사에서 이상이 발견되면 2차 혈액 검사를 진행하거나 종양표지자, 복부초음파, CT, MRI, 복강경, 복부혈관조영 등 다양한 방법으로 심층적인 검시를 진행한다. 간은 2/3가 손상돼도 정상기능을 유지하는 반면, 기능을 상실하기 전까지 이렇다 할 증상이 없어 질환을 알아차리기가 쉽지 않다. 그래서 간을 '침묵의 장기'라는 고약한 별칭이 따라붙는 이유다. 간 기능 검사를 통해 수시로 점검하는 길만이 최선이다.

  • 신체의 특정부위에 정전류를 흘리고 이에 의한 전압의 차이를 이용하여 임피던스를 측정한 후 체내수분을 구하는 방법은 안전하고, 비침습적이며 신속하고, 조작하기 쉽다. 더우기 측정기구의 이동이 용이하므로 실험실 밖에서도 측정이 가능하고 환자의 협조가 별로 없어도 쉽게 측정할 수 장점이 있기 때문에 이를 임상에 적용시키기가 용이하다. 본 연구에서는 설계한 임피던스 측정기는 8bit원칩 마이크로프로세서를 이용하여 다중 채널 주파수 선택이 가능하며 데이터의 입출력 및 통신까지도 가능하도록 설계하였고 이 장치에 대한 실험으로 100명(남자71명, 여자 29명, 평균나이 $34.1{\pm}18.4$세, 1-78세)을 대상으로 체내 임피던스의 기초적인 자료를 구하고 이를 바탕으로 수술전후 환자의 체내수분 변화량을 측정하였다. 실험결과, 수술전후 금식 및 수액투여에 따른 체수분 변화를 관찰할 수 있었다.

맥퍼슨형 반능동 현가장치의 노면적응형 스카이훅 제어와 HILS (Road Adaptive Skyhook Control and HILS for Semi-Active Macpherson Suspension Systems)

  • In this paper, a modified skyhook control for the semi-active Macpherson suspension system is investigated. A new model for the semi-active type suspension, which incorporates the rotational motion of the unsprung mass, is introduced and an output feedback control law using the skyhook control method is derived. The gains in the skyhook controller are adaptively adjusted by estimating the road conditions. Because two vertical acceleration sensors, one for the sprung mass and another for the unsprung mass, are used rather than using the angle sensor for the rotational motion of the control arm, the relative velocity of the rattle space is filtered using the acceleration signals. For testing the control performance, the actual damping force has been incorporated via the hardware-in-the-loop simulations. The performances of a passive damper and a semi-active damper are compared. Simulation results are provided.

  • In this paper, input-output transmission characteristics of the Eclipse, which is a parallel machine tool capable of 5 face rapid machining, are investigated. By splitting the weighted Jacobian matrix into two parts, the force and moment transmission characteristics together with the velocity and angular velocity transmission characteristics are analyzed. A new manipulability measure, which combines the volume of the manipulability ellipsoid and the condition number of the splitted Jcobian matrix, is proposed. Two link parameters, the ratio of upper and lower platforms' radii and the length of a supporting link of the Eclipse, are designed by applying the new manipulability measure derived. Computer simulations are provided.

  • The control objectives in this paper are to move the gantry of a container crane to its target position and to suppress the transverse vibration of the payload. The crane system is modeled as an axially moving string equation, in which control inputs are applied at both ends, through the gantry and the payload. The dynamics of the moving string are derived using Hamilton's principle for systems with changing mass. The Lyapunov function method is used in deriving a boundary control law, in which the Lyapunov function candidate is introduced from the total mechanical energy of the system. The performance of the proposed control law is compared with other two control algorithms available in the literature. Experimental results are given.

병렬형 매니퓰레이터의 힘/모우멘트 전달특성에 관한 연구 (Force/Moment Transmissionability Analysis of a Parallel Manipulator)

  • This paper presents how the input forces along the prismatic joints of a parallel manipulator are transmitted to the upper platform. In order to consider force transmission and moment transmission seperately the Jacobian matrix for parallel manipulators is splitted into two parts. Magnitudes of input forces on the six actuators at a given manipulator configuration which generate maximum/minimum output force with no moment generated on the platform are obtained through the singular value decomposition of a matrix involving the Jacobian. Similarly the directions of the input forces to obtain only the rotation of the platform have been analyzed. Using the singular values a simple equation for the volume of ellipsoid which is a good tool for manipulability measure is provided. Obtained results could be useful in determinimg design parameters like radius of plaform, angles between joints, etc. Simulations are porvided.

  • The asymptotic convergence of a coupled dynamic system, which is motivated from infinite dimensional adaptive systems, is investigated. The convergence analysis is formulated in abstract Banch spaces and is shown to applicable to a broad class of infinite dimensional systems including adaptive identification and adaptive control. Particularly it is shown that if a uniquely existing solution is p-th power integrable, then the solution converges to zero asymptotically. The persistence of excitation(PE) of a signal which arises in an infinite dimensional adaptive system is investigated. The PE property is not completely known yet for infinite dimensional adaptive systems, however it should be investigated in relation to spatial variable, boundary conditions as well as time variable.
