  • 석탄유도가스에 포함된 황화수소를 제거시킬 흡착제를 개발하기 위하여 알칼리 토금속, 천이원소 및 아연의 이온반경보다 이온반경이 작은 금속산화물을 산화아연에 첨가시켜 다공성 흡착제를 제조하였다. 600$\circ$C에서 이들 첨가시료를 2.09vol.% 황화수소와 질소가스 혼합기체로 반응시켜 초기속도를 측정하고, 같은 온도에서 사용된 흡착제를 공기로 재생시켰다. 사용된 금속산화물 첨가 흡착제중에서 CaO, TiO$_2$, $Fe_2O_3$, CuO, $Ga_2O_3$ 및 Si$_2$O가 ZnO 흡착제의 초기속도를 증가시켜 첨가제로 사용할 수 있음을 보였다.

Synthesis of Propylene Glycol via Hydrogenolysis of Glycerol over Mixed Metal Oxide Catalysts (혼합 금속산화물 촉매에서 글리세롤의 수소화 분해반응을 통한 프로필렌 글리콜의 합성)

  • Hydrogenolysis of glycerol to propylene glycol was performed over binary and ternary metal oxide catalysts. The conversion of glycerol and selectivity to propylene glycol were increased on Cu/Zn and Cu/Cr mixed oxides compared to pure CuO and ZnO oxides. The addition of alumina into Cu/Zn mixed oxide very highly increased the conversion of glycerol and selectivity to propylene glycol. The conversion of glycerol was increased with increasing the reaction temperature but the selectivity to propylene glycol was shown to have maximum value at $200^{\circ}C$ and then decreased at $250^{\circ}C$. The conversion of glycerol and selectivity to propylene glycol were decreased with increasing the glycerol concentration.

  • The block-co-polymer type thermosetting polysiloxane coordinated with metal oxide was synthesized to investigate the effect of metal oxide on the dispersity of metal powder in the polysiloxane/metal composite material. The metal powder in the polysiloxane/metal composite materials is better dispersed with metal oxide complex polysiloxane than the case without metal oxide. To understand the effect of quantities of metal oxide on the polysiloxane chain, the various polysiloxanes with different ratios of block unit were synthesized. Electrical conductivity was interpreted by percolation threshold theory to understand the dispersity of dense composite. The behavior of conductivity was in good agreement with theoretical value. The critical value was decreased as the quantities of metal oxide are increased. As a result, as the metal oxide increased on the polymer chain, the dispersity of metal filler was increased.

  • 초고집적회로의 배선 금속으로 사용되는 알루미늄 합금은 치밀한 표면 산화막 때문에 화학증착법에 의하여 비어를 선택적으로 충전하기 힘들다. 본 연구에서는 기저층을 이용하여 비어에 선택적으로 화학증착함으로써 평탄화를 이루는 새로운 방법을 제안하였다. 알루미늄, 구리 등의 배선 금속, 팔라듐, 코발트 등의 금속, 기타 타이타늄 질화물 등의 기판에 대하여 화학증착 알루미늄의 특성과 실리콘 산화물간의 선택성을 평가하였으며 팔라듐, 코발트, 타이타늄 질화물 등을 기저층으로 사용한 경우에 낮은 비저항과 안정적인 선택적 비어 충전을 이룰 수 있었다.

후열처리 조건 변화에 따르는 $Co_3O_4$ 계열 전이금속 산화물 박막의 구조적 성질 변화 조사

  • $Co_3O_4$ 계열 스피넬(spinel) 전이금속 산화물 $TCo_2O_4$ (T = 3d 전이금속)는 화학적 촉매, 센서, 이차전지, 연료전지 등으로의 응용성에 기인하여 최근 주목을 받고 있으며, 특정 응용분야와 관련하여 그 박막 시료 제작 및 물리적, 화학적 성질들에 대한 세밀한 연구의 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 졸-겔 방법을 이용하여 $TCo_2O_4$ 박막이 $Al_2O_3$ (0001) 기판 위에 균일한 두께로 제작될 수 있는 최적 조건을 찾고자 하였으며, 후열처리 조건 변화에 따르는 박막의 구조적 성질 변화를 조사하였다. 후열처리는 공기 중에서 이루어졌으며 온도 ${\sim}800^{\circ}C$에서 최적 결정성을 갖는 다결정 박막이 얻어졌다. 또한, 박막에 작은 시간(~10 min) 동안의 전자선(electron beam) 조사를 통한 다결정 박막의 형성도 관측되었다. $TCo_2O_4$ 박막들에 대한 X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, spectroscopic ellipsometry 측정들을 수행하여 그 구조적, 광학적 성질을 조사 하였다.

  • 사람들은 대부분의 시간을 실내에서 보내고 있으며, 실내에 존재하는 유해가스는 미량의 농도에도 불구하고 심각한 질환을 일으킬 수 있다. 금속산화물 반도체 가스센서는 감도가 우수하고, 구조가 간단하며, 초소형화가 가능한 장점이 있어 고가의 대형 장비를 사용하지 않고 실내 유해가스를 측정하는 데 효과적으로 이용될 수 있다. 본 기고문에서는 금속산화물 반도체를 이용한 가스 센서의 검지 원리를 고찰하고, 나노 구조 조절, 마이크로 리액터 및 이중층 구조를 이용한 가스 개질 등 실내 유해가스 측정을 위한 다양한 센서 설계방법을 소개하고자 한다.

Effect of Pt-Sn/Al2O3 catalysts mixed with metal oxides for propane dehydrogenation (프로판 탈수소 반응에 미치는 금속산화물과 혼합된 Pt-Sn/Al2O3 촉매의 영향)

  • The $Pt-Sn/Al_2O_3$ catalysts mixed with metal oxides for propane dehydrogenation were studied. $Cu-Mn/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$, $Ni-Mn/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$, $Cu/{\alpha}-Al_2O_3$ was prepared and mixed with $Pt-Sn/Al_2O_3$ to measure the activity for propane dehydrogenation. As standard sample, $Pt-Sn/Al_2O_3$ catalyst mixed with glassbead was adopted. In the case of catalytic activity test after non-reductive pretreatment of catalyst and metal oxide, $Pt-Sn/Al_2O_3$ mixed with $Cu-Mn/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ showed higher conversion of 15% and similar selectivity at $576.5^{\circ}C$, compared to conversion of 8% in standard sample. In the case of catalytic activity test after reductive pretreatment of catalyst and metal oxde, $Cu/{\alpha}-Al_2O_3$ showed higer yield than standard sample. But, increase of yield of most of samples after reductive pretreatment was not significant, so it was found that lattice oxygen of $Cu-Mn/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ is effective to propane dehydrogenation.

Effects of Inorganic-organic Additives on CO2 Adsorption of Activated Carbon (활성탄의 이산화탄소 흡착에 미치는 유무기계 첨가제의 영향)

  • In this study, amine and metal oxide additives were investigated to improve $CO_2$ adsorption capacity of activated carbons (ACs). The characteristics of surface modified ACs were studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), $N_2$ adsorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and BET. Amine surface treatment decreased specific surface area and pore volume of ACs, but increased alkalinity by the incorporated nitrogen functional groups. Adsorption capacities of amine functionalized ACs was larger than original ACs, because basic group which can react with $CO_2$ was grafted on the ACs surface. Presence of copper oxides on ACs also enhances the carbon dioxide adsorption. The copper oxides could increase the adsorption rate of carbon dioxides due to the acid-base interaction (or electron acceptor-donor interaction). It was found that copper oxide loading was a promising method to improve the $CO_2$ adsorption capacity of ACs.

Various Metal Oxide Additions Based on TiO2 and Adsorption Characteristics of Hollow Fiber Adsorbent on Arsenic (TiO2 기반의 다양한 금속산화물 첨가와 중공사형 흡착제의 비소 흡착 특성)

  • In this study, the hollow fibers from $TiO_2$ and various metal oxides additives were fabricated and characterized in order to remove the arsenic substance from a contaminated water. Experimental results showed the best arsenic adsorption performance from pristine $TiO_2$ hollow fibers. When metal oxides were added, the metal oxides reduced the acid sites on the surface of $TiO_2$ and the arsenic adsorption performance decreased. However, the long term arsenic adsorption performance was enhanced and showed better performance than that of using pristine $TiO_2$ hollow fibers when $Al_2O_3$ was added during the hollow fiber fabrication. In addition, the arsenic adsorption performance showed a high dependency on the specific surface area of hollow fibers. It was confirmed that the abundancy of Lewis and Bronsted acid sites provided was favorable for the arsenic adsorption. It was also demonstrated that commercially available $TiO_2$ powders can be an attractive candidate material for manufacturing hollow fibers for a small scale water treatment plant.
