  • Objectives : This study was conducted to investigate the activity of the supra and infrahyoid muscles according to the temperature and the amount of water in healthy adults. Methods : The amount of water was set to 3 mL and 20 mL, and the temperature was subdivided into $4^{\circ}C$, $22^{\circ}C$, and $40^{\circ}C$ in order to compare the activity of the supra and infrahyoid muscles in twenty-seven healthy adults. We used the mean value of the activity of the supra and infrahyoid muscles while they were swallowing saliva in order to set the reference voluntary contraction (%RVC). Results : Muscle activity was significantly increased when they swallowed 20 mL of water rather than 3 mL in the left infrahyoid muscles at $4^{\circ}C$, $22^{\circ}C$ and $40^{\circ}C$ (p=.00; p=.00; p=.00), the right infrahyoid muscles at $22^{\circ}C$and $40^{\circ}C$ (p=.01; p=.01), the left suprahyoid muscles at $4^{\circ}C$ (p=.03). Muscle activity of the right suprahyoid muscles was significantly decreased at $40^{\circ}C$ compared to $4^{\circ}C$ and $22^{\circ}C$ when they swallowed 20 mL of water (p=.04). Conclusion : In the future, other variables such as viscosity and taste should be considered, and further studies on patients with impaired nervous system as well as healthy subjects will be needed.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of dietary Flammulina velutipes mycelium (FVM) on physico-chemical properties and nutritional components of chicken meat. Ninety-six broiler chicks (HanHyup No. 3, Korea) were divided into four groups: control (basal diet), T1 (supplemented with 1% FVM), T2 (3%), and T3 (5%). Broiler chicks in each group were slaughtered at 7 weeks of age, and their breast and thigh meat were collected. Lightness ($L^*$) and yellowness ($b^*$) in the T2 and T3 groups were higher than in the control group (p<0.05). The loss of breast meat during cooking was increased in the T1, T2, and T3 groups, and the water-holding capacity of the breast meat was also decreased in these three groups (p<0.05). The water-soluble protein solubility was lower in the T1, T2, and T3 groups than in the control group (p<0.05), but the salt-soluble protein solubility in these three groups was higher than that in the control group (p<0.05). The crude fat content of the breast meat was decreased and that of the thigh meat was increased as the level of FVM was increased (p<0.05). The unsaturated fatty acid content of the breast meat was higher in the T2 and T3 groups than in the control group (p<0.05). The free amino acid content was high in the T1, T2, and T3 groups compared to the control. In conclusion, these results showed that feeding with 3% and 5% FVM increased the L and b values in thigh meat, improved the salt-soluble protein solubility, and increased the content of unsaturated fatty acids and free amino acids.

  • In this study, we apply the facial Facial Action Coding System for coding the muscular system anatomical approach facial expressions to be displayed in response to a change in sensitivity. To verify by applying the virtual character the Duchenne smile to the original. I extracted the Duchenne smile by inducing experiment of emotion (man 2, woman 2) and the movie theater department students trained for the experiment. Based on the expression that has been extracted, I collect the data of the facial muscles. Calculates the frequency of expression of the face and other parts of the body muscles around the mouth and lips, to be applied to the virtual character of the data. Orbicularis muscle to contract end of lips due to shrinkage of the Zygomatic Major is a upward movement, cheek goes up, the movement of the muscles, facial expressions appear the outer eyelid under the eye goes up with a look of smile. Muscle movement of large muscle and surrounding Zygomatic Major is observed together (AU9) muscles around the nose and (AU25, AU26, AU27) muscles around the mouth associated with openness. Duchen smile occurred in the form of Orbicularis Oculi and Zygomatic Major moves at the same time. Based on this, by separating the orbicularis muscle that is displayed in the form of laughter and sympathy to emotional feelings and viable large muscle by the will of the person, by applying to the character of the virtual, and expression of human I try to examine expression of the virtual character's ability to distinguish.

  • Background and Purpose: This study was undertaken to compare the sensitivity of the Repetitive Nerve Stimulation Test (RNST) between the upper and lower extremity muscles in myasthenia gravis(MG) patients. Material and Methods: The study population consisted of 20 normal persons(control group) and 10 MG patients(MG group). Using Stalberg's method. RNST was systemically performed in orbicularis oculi muscle. upper extremity muscles(flexor carpi ulnaris. abductor digiti quinti), and lower extremity muscles(tibialis anterior. extensor digitorum brevis. vastus medialis). Results: There were statistical differences of decremental response($mean{\pm}SD$) in orbicularis oculi and upper extremity muscles between the control and MG groups(p<0.05 or p<0.01). However, there was no statistical difference of decremental response($mean{\pm}SD$) to RNST in lower extremity muscles between the control and MG groups. There were highersensitivity in orbicularis oculi and upper extremity muscles than lower extremity muscles. Although positive reponse were detected in the lower extremity muscles, the positive response rates of lower extremity muscles were lower than o.oculi and upper extremity muscles. Conclusions: When the response rates of RNST in facial and upper extremity muscles are normal, may not be required RNST in lower extremity muscles.

  • 1. The human body is the unification related to the powerful fascial network, I think. 2. Myofascial not only prevent and support the human body structure curdling but also keep the physical balance by dispersing traumatization properly. 3. Myofascial restriction will be developed into muscle deficiency and cause pains without releasing the muscle tension and the spasm. 4. Myofascial restriction affect and change the physical posture by losing the muscle elasticity and flexibility and by losing muscle supporting ability from gravitation. 5. The partial myofascial restriction affect the muscle and the adjoining joint supporting gravitation and cause the unbalance of the entire body.
