  • D/In modern production industries, computer aided systems have been improving the efficiency and convenience of the various stages of work. However. as the complexity of computerized production systems increases, various techniques are still necessary. The problem we addressed occurs in computer systems that automatically make manufacturing process plans in the metal grating manufacturing industry. In the grating layout design, the key to saving the manufacturing cost is to find a design with the minimal number of cutting operations. The proposed genetic algorithm explores the feasible alternatives within the space until an optimal solution is obtained.

  • In this paper robust nonlinear image denoising algorithms are introduced for the distribution which is Gaussian in the center and Laplacian in the tails. The distribution is known as the least favorable ${\epsilon}$-contaminated normal distribution that maximizes the asymptotic variance. The proposed filter proves to be the maximum likelihood estimator under the heavy-tailed Gaussian noise environments. It is optimal in the respect of maximizing the efficacy under the above noise environment. Another filter for reducing impulsive noise is proposed by mixing with the myriad filter to propose an amplitude-limited myriad filter. Extensive experiment is conducted with images corrupted with ${\alpha}$-stable noise to analyze the behavior and performance of the proposed filters.

  • Automatic control has been for the most part applied to linear systems where ti can be approximately formalized. In case that it is not definitely established the mathematical modelling to control objects, it requires manual control strategies which put under the human rule. In this paper, it constructs an FLC (Fuzzy Logic Controller) in order to turn a hand control into an automatic control in the domain of swimming pool that has been almost absolutely dependant on a skilled worker's experience. Genetic algorithms upgrade the knowledge which is acquired from human expert, using by FLC, so as to maintain knowledge in the very optimal way. It also designs an algorithm that modifies the rule base and the membership function at the same time, and ultimately will show that it can get better result than human controllers.

  • In this paper, it was segmented the face color distribution using YCbCr color model, which is one of the feature-based methods, and preprocessing stage was to be insensitive to the sensitivity for light which is one of the disadvantages for the feature-based methods by the quantization. In addition, it has raised the accuracy of image synthesis with characteristics which is selected the object of the most same image as the shape of pattern using rough set. In this paper, the detection rates of the proposed face detection algorithm was confirmed to be better about 2~3% than the conventional algorithms regardless of the size and direction on the various faces by simulation.

  • We propose a parameter estimation algorithm for radar signal active cancellation based on the Pade approximation that requires much less samples than the conventional MLE scheme. We also verify that the radar signal with time-variant center frequency can be estimated with proposed algorithm by renovating the center frequency. We present simulation results for radar signal active cancellation to show the accuracy of estimated signal using proposed algorithm by calculating the ratio of RMSE of estimated signal to amplitude of hostile radar signal.

  • Many structural optimization problems are solved by numerical algorithms since these are complicated and nonlinear. To provide a wider base and popular it to structual design optimization, reliable, accurate and superlinearly convergent nonlinear programming algorithm with active-set strategy have been developed. One of these is RQP(recursive quadratic programming method). This algorithm has several parameters and its performance is influenced by variations of these key parameters. Therefore, an RQP algorithm is selected to enhance its numerical performances by choosing proper parameters. The paper persents these influences on its numerical performance. For comparison of performances, a structural design software for minimum weight of truss subjected to displacement, stress, and lower and upper bounds on design variables is also implemented.

  • Game level design is one of the important parts in the commercial game development. Because of its complexity in combining game components, game design work could be classified into a non-linear problem. In this paper, we propose a new automated game level design system by using genetic algorithms. With our system, a game designer easily generates an optimized game level by designating the key parameters m the initial stage of game design. Our system can be useful in reducing the trial-errors in the initial game level design process.

  • Q-learning은 강화학습의 한 방법으로서, 여러 분야에 널리 응용되고 있는 기법이다. 최근에는 Linear Quadratic Regulation(이하 LQR) 문제에 성공적으로 적용된 바 있는데, 특히, 시스템모델의 파라미터에 대한 구체적인 정보가 없는 상태에서 적절한 입력과 출력만을 가지고 학습을 통해 문제를 해결할 수 있어서 상황에 따라서 매우 실용적인 대안이 될 수 있다. Neural Q-learning은 이러한 Q-learning의 Q-value를 MLP(multilayer perceptron) 신경망의 출력으로 대치시킴으로써, 비선형 시스템의 최적제어 문제를 다룰 수 있게 한 방법이다. 그러나, Neural Q방식은 신경망의 구조를 먼저 결정한 후 역전파 알고리즘을 이용하여 학습하는 절차를 취하기 때문에, 시행착오를 통하여 신경망 구조를 결정해야 한다는 점, 역전파 알고리즘의 적용으로 인해 신경망의 연결강도 값들이 지역적 최적해로 수렴한다는 점등의 문제점을 상속받는 한계가 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 Neural-0 학습의 도구로, 역전파 알고리즘으로 학습되는 MLP 신경망을 사용하는 대신 최근 들어 여러 분야에서 그 성능을 인정받고 있는 서포트 벡터 학습법을 사용하는 방법을 택하여, $\varepsilon$-SVR(Epsilon Support Vector Regression)을 이용한 Q-value 근사 기법을 제안하고 관련 수식을 유도하였다. 그리고, 모의 실험을 통하여, 제안된 서포트 벡터학습 기반 Neural-Q 방법의 적용 가능성을 알아보았다.

Statistical Analysis of the MSE for the MDPSAP Adaptive Filter (MPDSAP 적응필터를 위한 MSE의 통계적 해석)

  • This paper presents a statistical analysis of the MSE of adaptation for the MPDSAP (Maximally polyphase decomposed Subband Affine Projection) algorithm for the an autoregressive (AR) inputs with P order. In subband structure, the Affine Projection (AP) algorithm is transformed to the Normalized Least Mean Square (NLMS) algorithm by applying the polyphase decomposition and the noble identity to the adaptive filter. And also, AR input can be pre-whitened by subband filtering with the Orthonormal Analysis Filters(OAF). In the subband structure, the pre-whitening of the AR(P) inputs provides simple and valid approximations for a statistical analysis of the MSE behaviors for the SAP adaptive filter.

Physically Inspired Fast Lightning Rendering (물리적 특성을 고려한 빠른 번개 렌더링)

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm for generating lightning paths, which are more realistic than those of random tree based algorithm and faster than a physically based simulation algorithm. Our approach utilizes physically based Dielectric Breakdown Method (DBM) and approximates the electric potential field dramatically to generate the lightning path. We also show a guide path method for the lightning to avoid obstacles in a complex scene. Finally, our method renders fast and realistic lightning by considering physical characteristics for the thickness and brightness of the lightning stream. Our result of the lightning path shares similarity to natural phenomenon by having about 1.56 fractal dimensions, and we can generate the lightning path faster than a previous physically based algorithm. On the other hand, our method is difficult to apply on the real-time games yet, but our approach can be improved by performing the path generation algorithm with GPU in future.
