A study on art-science of Huì-shì-hòu-sù(繪事後素) in 『the Discourse of Confucius』 (『논어』의 '회사후소(繪事後素)'에 관한 미술학적 고찰)

  • Since long ago, "The Discourse of Confucius" has been considered as one of the must-read classical literatures in the world of art. The term Huì-shì-$h{\grave{o}}u-s{\grave{u}}$ (繪事後素) in this literature is not only known by the painter but is also known to anyone who discuss about pictures. However, there is a great diversity of interpretation between its meaning of "drawing a picture is done when its basis is ready" or "drawing a picture is done later when completed with white color". The method of drawing does not change much with time. Scholars usually consider professional paintings conventional and don't understand well the white characteristics of the painting technique. In any case, it is basic to deal with the basis before drawing but completing the picture, finishing with white is not so common. Paintings from ancient times are not so different from today's silk pictures. Because Huì-shì-$h{\grave{o}}u-s{\grave{u}}$(繪事後素) fostered the attainments being the basis of life and the artistic sense, it remains as the aesthetics to many artists. The interpretation of Huì-shì-$h{\grave{o}}u-s{\grave{u}}$(繪事後素) is related to the change with time in 'The theory of courtesy(禮論)' but this study focused purely from the artistic point of view.

Exploring the possibility of using ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion as a tool to recommend picture materials for teaching and learning

  • In this paper, artificial intelligence agents ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion were used to explore the possibility of educational use by implementing a program to recommend picture materials for teaching and learning according to the class topic entered by teachers. The average time spent recommending all picture materials is about 6 minutes. In general, pictures related to keywords were recommended, and the letters in the recommended pictures could only know the intention to represent the letters, and the letters could not be recognized and the meaning could not be known. However, further research seems to be needed on the fact that the type or content of the recommended picture depends entirely on the response of ChatGPT and that it is not possible to accurately recommend the picture for all keywords. In addition, it was concluded that it is true that the recommended picture is related to the keyword, but the evaluation of whether it has educational value is the subject of discussion that should be left to the judgment of human teachers.

A Study on the Continuity of the Image of Picture Book for Children (어린이그림책화면의 연속성에 대한 연구)

  • The illustrations of picture book for children transmit not only one image but also the summary and contents of the picture book by connecting images harmoniously. The images of picture book give children a variety of emotion and impression depending upon the location of image at various factors such as blank and form, texture and colors, and space feeling, etc. Therefore, the picture book for children has the continuity transmitting the flow of images by not only the contents of natural story but also uniform and rhythmical factors. The continuity of images can transmit images by visual ideas that are produced depending upon the connections of pictures between writings and picture, between images, and inside images. In such a way, children can understand the contents of story. The paper examines the continuity of the images of the picture book for children and describes correct expressions on harmonious connections of the images made based on children's individuality and ingenuity.

  • 프랑스 몽티냑에 위치한 라스코 동굴에는 오늘날까지 발견된 수많은 구석기시대 동굴벽화 가운데 대표적인 그림들을 보존하고 있다. 동굴 벽화는 대략 BC 15,000년 전 것으로 연구되어 왔으며 최근 몇몇 학자들에 의해서 그 가운데 몇몇 그림들이 별자리를 그린 것이라는 이론이 제기되었다. 본 논문에서는 동굴 그림 가운데 황소 전당에 그려진 벽화를 별자리로 동정해 보았다. 그 결과 이것들이 성좌화임을 발견했다. 그림은 흥미롭게도 별자리와 암흑 성간운을 구별했는데 별자리는 윤곽선으로 그린 반면 검은 성간운은 검은 바탕의 그림으로 나타냈다. 그림은 벽화들의 특징과 구도 그리고 배열순서로 볼 때 전천 성좌도를 그린 것으로 동정되었는데 이는 당시 밤하늘에 보이는 별자리들과 암흑 성간운들의 구도와 배열의 일치에서 신뢰할 수 있었다. 벽화에는 황소자리, 플레이아데스, 오리온삼성, 오리온자리-쌍둥이자리, 사자자리-처녀자리-뱀자리, 천칭자리-사수자리-전갈자리가 그려져 있으며, 특히 은하중심의 사수자리에서 고물자리에 이르는 길다란 은하평면상의 검은 암흑성간운들의 특징적 나열을 들판을 뛰어가는 검은색 동물로 나타냈다. 척도를 감안해서 볼 때, 그림의 구도와 배열순서가 밤하늘에 보이는 것과 거의 같다 할만큼 사실적으로 그려져 있어서 구석기인들이 지적능력이 오늘날 현대인들과 다를 바 없는 수준에 이르렀다고 추정된다.

  • LMT consisting of 10 landscape elements is one of psychology diagnosis method for inspecting the psychological state of client. In this paper, we make knowledge base accumulating knowledge about LMT landscape elements. By using this knowledge base, we also propose and implement LMT diagnosis assistance system generating LMT inspection report being a result of diagnosis. This proposed system generates diagnosis report based on LMT knowledge base which accumulate knowledge from plenty of reference and research project, that's why we improve the objectivity of diagnosis results. And new knowledge about LMT can be accumulated in knowledge base, so the system proposed in this paper can be extensible continuously. The implementation of system proposed in this paper offers web-based services. To show effectiveness of the system, we diagnose the actual case by using the system, and show the diagnosis result.

The Endpaper Types of Bologna Ragazzi Award Korean Picturebooks (볼로냐 라가치상을 수상한 한국 그림책의 면지 유형)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the type of endpapers in Korean picturebooks that won the Bologna Ragazzi Award. The endpapers were classified by three standards: identities between front endpapers and back endpapers, type of arts, and type of contents. As results, picturebooks with identities between front endpapers and back endpapers were slightly more than ones with unidentities. Most of art types were illustrated, followed by patterned and plain. In addition, the peritextual contents were found to be the most frequently used content type in endpapers. The results showed that the most endpapers of the Korean picturebooks that won the Bologna Ragazzi Award were related to the text contents, which suggests the important roles of endpapers in picturebook activities.

비증착 방법에 의한 사용후 핵연료의 EPMA 분석

  • 사용후 핵연료의 조성을 분석하거나 또는 반사전자상과 2차 전자상 등으로 시료를 관찰하기 위해서는 핫셀(Hot cell)에 증착기(coater)를 설치하여 시료표면을 전도성 물질인 탄소 등으로 증착시켜야 한다. 그러나 원격조정기를(manipulator)를 이용하여 수행되는 핫셀에서의 증착작업은 사용후 핵연료 시험의 선진분석기술을 갖고 있는 원자력 선진국에서도 핫셀내에 설치되어 있는 증착기의 탄소봉을 교체하는 작업과 진공장치의 성능 유지가 까다로워 시료표면에 균질하게 전도성 물질을 증착시키는 작업에 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 본 연구는 통상적으로 이용되는 증착기를 사용하지 않고 Silver Paint를 사용하여 사용후 핵연료를 분석할 수 있는 새로운 방법에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 산화물 핵연료는 전기전도도가 매우 낮아($3{\times}10^{-1}~4{\times}10^{-8}/ohm{\cdot}cm$)입사된 전자의 이동이 원활하지 못해 일어나는 들뜸(Charging)현상이 발생한다. 그러나 Silver Paint 에 사용후 핵연료를 접착하면 모세관(capillary)현상에 의해 시료 주위와 핵연료의 결정립계로 Silver가 스며들어 입사된 전자의 이동이 원활해져 전도성이 극히 낮은 시료의 분석이 가능하게 된다. 본 시험에 사용된 EPMA는 (Electron Probe Micro Analyzer, SX-50R, CAMECA, Paris, France) 고 방사능을 띤 조사 핵연료의 시험을 수행할 수 있도록 기기의 적절한 부위에 납과 텅스텐으로 차폐되어 시편의 방사능 세기가 $3{\times}10^{10}Bq$까지 시험 가능한 기기이다. 그림 1은 JAERI 에 설치 운영중인 증착기 설비 사진이다. 그림에서 핫셀에 설치된 증착기의 진공을 유지하기 위해 핫셀 벽을 관통하여 증착기 본체까지 연결된 배출관의 형상과 복잡한 주변장치들을 볼 수 있다. 그림 2는 비조사 핵연료 시편을 Silver Pain떼 접착한 사진이다. 그림은 시료주위와 시료 표면까지 Silver Paint가 도포된 모습을 보여주고 있다. 상용발전소에서 연소도가 50,000 Mwd/tU인 사용후 핵연료를 상기와 같은 방법으로 만든 시편의 표면을 관찰한 사진을 그림 3~8에 나타내었다. 그림 3은 핵연료 중앙부위의 결정립을 나타낸 그림이다. Silver Paint만으로 접착한 시료의 표면관찰 및 정량분석이 그림에서 보듯이 가능함을 확인하였다. 그림 4는 사용후 핵연료시료를 중앙부위에서 가장자리까지를 다섯 부위로 나누어 그 중 중앙부위(1/5) 지점의 입계 및 형상을 관찰한 사진이다. 결정립의 크기가 다른 부위보다 상대적으로 크고, 결정립에 생성된 기공이 발달되어 있음을 볼 수 있다. 그림 5와 6과 7은 중심부위와 rim부위 사이 지점을 관찰한 사진으로서 결정립과 기공의 분포가 비슷한 형상을 나타내고 있음을 관찰할 수 있었다. 그림 8은 rim 부위 사진으로 전형적인 rim 영역 현상을 관찰할 수 있었다. 표 1은 그림 2와 같이 비조사 산화물 핵연료를 Silver Paint로 접착한 시편을 정량 분석한 결과이다. 시편의 조성은 33.6 at% U, 66.4 at% O의 결과를 얻었다. 산화물 핵연료의 표면 관찰 및 정량 분석 시험시 시편 표면을 전도성 물질로 증착시키지 않고, Silver Paint 에 시편을 접착하는 방법으로도 만족한 시험 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

Analysis on Picture Books and Activity Contents of Book Start Program (북스타트 프로그램의 그림책과 활동내용 분석)

  • This study intended to analyze picture books and activity contents of Book Start Program targeting infants and preschooler. Target objects were 244 picture books with their activities contained on casebook of Book Start Program. First, the study outcome showed that the most type of its picture books in general was fantasy, while, by ages, play books for those in 6~18 months, information books for those in 19~35 months, and fantasy books for those in 36 months~before going to school were the most. Second, contents of the picture books showed the most order of nature exploration, social relationship, art experience, while by ages, contents on nature exploration were the most in all ages, while social relationship and art experience showed statistically significant difference by ages. Third, the outcome of activity contents utilizing the books showed drawing activities were the most, while activities other than drawing showed statistically significant difference by ages. This result shows that they chose a picture book suitable for the developmental characteristics of the infants and preschoolers, but that the contents of the picture book were not closely associated with the activities. The outcome of this study lies in offering information and basis on ways to choose effective picture books and their activities to those planning and running Book Start Program in the future.

Fathers' Awareness and Practice of Picture Book Reading with Toddlers (영아-아버지 그림책 읽기에 대한 아버지의 인식과 참여 실태)

  • The present study was designed to examine fathers' awareness and practice of picture book reading with toddlers. The subjects were 221 fathers who have toddlers, and the data collected by questionnaires were analysed by mean and standard deviation, and frequency analysis. As a result, approximately 59% of fathers stated that it is essential to read to their children who are 12 month old or less, and 36% of fathers answered that they read books as much as their children wanted. The majority considered the emotional aspect of picture book reading as being significant. Also, nearly half (46%) of the fathers read books to their children 1-2 times per week, and 37% of them spent 6-10 minutes at a time reading books. While reading books, 60% of the fathers explained text and pictures to their children and a fourth of the fathers answered their children's questions. Also, while reading books, fathers tried to accept their toddlers' responses positively. However, they did not have much time to read books to their children and had little knowledge on how to read books to infants. Further research and education programs on picture book reading for fathers are needed.

Understanding Purposes and Functions of Students' Drawing while on Geological Field Trips and during Modeling-Based Learning Cycle (야외지질답사 및 모델링 기반 순환 학습에서 학생들이 그린 그림의 목적과 기능에 대한 이해)

  • The purpose of this study was to qualitatively examine the meaning of students' drawings in outdoor classes and modeling-based learning cycles. Ten students were observed in a gifted education center in Seoul. Under the theme of the Hantan River, three outdoor classes and three modeling activities were conducted. Data were collected to document all student activities during field trips and classroom modeling activities using simultaneous video and audio recording and observation notes made by the researcher and students. Hatisaru (2020) Ddrawing typess were classified by modifying the representations in a learning context in geological field trips. We used deductive content analysis to describe the drawing characteristics, including students writing. The results suggest that students have symbolic images that consist of geologic concepts, visual images that describe topographical features, and affective images that express students' emotion domains. The characteristics were classified into explanation, generality, elaboration, evidence, coherence, and state-of-mind. The characteristics and drawing types are consecutive in the modeling-based learning cycle and reflect the students' positive attitude and cognitive scientific domain. Drawing is a useful tool for reflecting students' thoughts and opinions in both outdoor class and classroom modeling activities. This study provides implications for emphasizing the importance of drawing activities.
