  • 본 논문에서는 교통 영상에서 실시간으로 차량을 검출하는 새로운 기법을 소개한다. 차량의 검출을 위하여 구배도의 방향 정보를 사용하며 차량 영역의 정확한 분할을 위하여 은닉 마르코프 모델을 사용한다. 구배도 방향정보를 이용하므로 그림자 영역의 영향을 줄일 수 있으며 은닉 마르코프 모델을 이용하므로 배경과 비슷한 차량과 근접한 차량의 분리가 가능하다. 따라서 저해상도의 교 통 영상에서 다양한 기상 조건, 그림자의 존재와 교통 상황에 강건한 검출 결과를 나타낸다.

Sensitivity Enhancement of Shadow Moiré Technique for Warpage Measurement of Electronic Packages (반도체 패키지의 굽힘변형 측정을 위한 그림자 무아레의 감도향상 기법연구)

  • Electronic packages consist of various materials, and as temperature changes, warpage occurs because of the difference in coefficient of thermal expansion. Shadow $moir{\acute{e}}$ is non-contact, whole field measurement technique for out-of-plane displacement. However, the technique has low sensitivity above $50{\mu}m/fringe$, it is not adequate for the warpage measurement in some circumstance. In this paper, by applying phase shifting process to the traditional shadow $moir{\acute{e}}$, measurement system having enhanced sensitivity of $12.5{\mu}m/fringe$ is constructed. Considering Talbot effect, the measurement is carried out in the half Talbot area. Shadow fringe pattern having four times enhanced sensitivity is obtained by the image process with four shadow fringes. The measurement technique is applied to the fibered package substrate and coreless package substrate for measuring warpages at room temperature and at about $100^{\circ}C$.

An Efficient Shadow Removal Technique adapted to Environmental Changes (환경변화에 적응하는 효율적인 그림자 제거 기법)

  • There has been a lot of research into a background separation method, which is a preprocess of a technique of automatically perceiving an invader, and the removal of shadows around a moving object in the video monitoring field. When a moving object is not clearly separated from its shadow, it is difficult to analyze the shape accurately, and it is also hard to trace its position. This study suggests how to utilize a brightness value for removing a shadow. It came from the fact that there appears to be no change of color in the shadow area relative to the background area, and there only occurs a difference in brightness. In addition, this method uses the renewal of a critical value used for the removal of shadow in the previous frame, in the next frame.

  • As supplying of automatic surveillance or patrol systems based on image processing, the needs on object extraction technology from images increases. The extraction is more difficult when the lighting condition is changed from time to time. There are many approaches to extract objects from images excluding shadow. They have a common problem something like loss of object region according with shadow removal. In this paper a restoration method using color information of objects to complement the problem is presented. The usefulness of the method is verified using images taken from different lighting conditions and selected from well-known DB.

  • There are many researches on segmentation of sidescan sonar image to recognize or classify the underwater objects. Although existing algorithms's performance is good in detecting object's shadow and reducing the underwater noise, the computing time is very low. In this paper we try to separate shadow from background and segment the underwater image by using morphological method using background's noise distribution characteristics and object's shadow charateristics. This algorithm is useful when the average of background is lower than the average of the shadow, because this is adjusted from the background's chracteristics. Results shows that the algorithm works fine in multiple object environments and the computing time is reduced to 1 second.

  • Client-server DBMS based on a data-skipping model can exploit client resources effectively by allowing inter-transaction caching. However, inter-transaction caching raises the need of transactional cache consistency maintenance(TCCM) protocol, since each client is able to cache a portion of the database dynamically. Detection-based TCCM schemes can reduce the message overhead required for cache consistency if they validate clients replica asynchronously, and thus they cm show high throughput rates. However, they tend to show high ratios of transaction abort since transactions can access invalid replica. For coping with this drawback, this paper develops a new notion of shadow transaction, which is a backup-purpose one that is kept ready to replace an aborted transaction. This paper proposes a new detection-based TCCM scheme named DL-ST on the basis of the notion of shadow transaction. Using a simulation model, this paper evaluates the effect of shadow transaction in terms of transaction through rate and abort ratio.

  • 영상 정보에 기반한 지능형 교통 정보 시스템(ITS)의 응용 분야에서, 차량의 그림자 제거와 겹침 차량을 분리하기 위하여 3차원 물체의 특징을 이용하며 차량 형상을 분리하는 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법은 차량을 분리하기 위하여 연속 프레임에서 배경을 수정하고, 배경 영상과 현재 입력 영상의 차이를 이용한다. 또한 그림자를 제거하고 겹침 차량을 분리하기 위하여, 1) 3차원 증거를 차량 증거 영역에서 검출하여 군집화하고, 2) 독립 차량의 중심 위치를 판단하고, 3) 다시 임계치에 의해 차량의 형상을 분리한다. 단순 임계치에 의해 차량을 분리하는 기법은 기상조건 등에 민감하기 때문에 여러 조건에 따라 다른 알고리즘을 적용해야 하지만 제안하는 기법은 동일한 알고리즘으로 여러 기상조건에 적응이 가능하다.

A Shadow Mapping Technique Separating Static and Dynamic Objects in Games using Multiple Render Targets (다중 렌더 타겟을 사용하여 정적 및 동적 오브젝트를 분리한 게임용 그림자 매핑 기법)

  • To identify the location of the object and improve the realism in 3D game, shadow mapping is widely used to compute the depth values of vertices in view of the light position. Since the depth value of the shadow map is calculated by the world coordinate, the depth values of the static object don't need to be updated. In this paper, (1) in order to improve the rendering speed, using multiple render targets the depth values of static objects stored only once are separated from those of dynamic objects stored each time. And (2) in order to improve the shadow quality in the quarter view 3D game, the position of the light is located close to dynamic objects traveled along the camera each time. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the experiments according to the different static and dynamics object configuration in 3D game.

Deformation Measurement of Electronic Components in Mobile Device Using High Sensitivity Shadow Moiré Technique (고감도 그림자 무아레 기법을 이용한 모바일 전자부품의 변형 측정)

  • The electronic components in mobile device are composed of electronic chips and various other materials. These components become extremely thin and the constituent materials have different coefficient of thermal expansion, so that considerable warpages occurs easily due to temperature change or external load. Shadow $moir{\acute{e}}$ is non-contact, whole field technique for measuring out-of-plane displacement, but the measurement sensitivity is not less than $50{\mu}m/fringe$, which is not suitable for measuring the warpage of the electronic components. In this paper, we implemented a measurement method with enhanced sensitivity of $25{\mu}m/fringe$ by investigating and optimizing various experimental conditions of the shadow $moir{\acute{e}}$. In addition, four $moir{\acute{e}}$ fringe patterns recorded by the phase shift are processes to obtain a $moir{\acute{e}}$ fringe patterns with a sensitivity four times higher. The measurement technique is applied to small electronic components of a smart phone for measuring warpage with a high sensitivity of $5{\mu}m/fringe$ at room temperature and at the temperature of $100^{\circ}C$.

  • 모바일 폰에서는 데이터 저장을 위해 낸드 플래시 메모리가 널리 사용하고 있다. 그리고 제한된 리소스 환경임에도 데이터의 효율적인 관리를 위해 임베디드 데이터베이스 시스템을 탑재하는 모델이 점차 늘고 있다. 플래시 메모리의 쓰기 연산은 읽기 연산에 비해 고비용의 연산이며 쓰기 연산이 많을수록 빈 블록을 더 빠르게 소모시켜 고비용의 지우기 연산을 유도하므로 성능 저하를 유발하는 특징이 있다. 본 논문에서는 리소스가 제한적인 모바일 폰에 적용되는 데이터베이스에서의 쓰기 연산 최소화를 위한 지연 갱신 기법을 제안한다. 이 기법은 기존의 그림자 페이지 기법을 모바일 환경에 맞도록 변형하여 플래시 메모리의 쓰기 및 지우기 연산을 감소시켜 데이터베이스의 성능을 향상 시킨다.
