Art Education Using Information and Communication Technology (ICT): Impact on Student Hesitation, Engagement, and Motivation (정보통신기술(ICT)를 이용한 미술 교육: 학생들의 주저함, 학습몰입도, 학습동기에 미치는 영향)

  • 본 연구는 실제 초등학교 4학년 수업시간에 학생들을 대상으로 ICT 도구를 이용하여 그림 그리기 수업과 정통적이 도구를 이용한 그림 그리기 수업을 진행 한 후, 학생들의 학습 몰입, 학습 동기, 학습 성과를 비교하여 보았다. 본 연구 결과에 의하면, ICT 도구를 이용한 그림 그리기 수업에서 학생들의 학습 몰입 및 동기가 더 높았으며, 더 나아가 학습 태도 및 성과까지 높였다. 특히 기존의 미술 수업에서 달라진 조건 없이 자연스럽게 태블릿 PC를 이용하여 그림을 그리는 교육만으로도 아이들이 주저하거나 흥미를 잃지 않고 지속적으로 그림 그리기에 관심을 가지게 할 수 있다는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 따라서, 우리는 새롭고 다양한 미디어와 첨단 기술의 발전 속에서 성장해가는 학생들에게 맞는 미술교육 방식으로 정보통신기술 (ICT)도구를 이용한 그림 그리기 교육을 제안한다.

제스처 기반 다중 레이어 드로잉 시스템의 설계 및 구현

  • 본 논문에서는 키넥트(kinect)의 인체 추적 기능을 사용하여 다중 레이어 기능을 제공하는 제스처 인식 기반 드로잉 시스템을 설계 구현하였다. 제안된 드로잉 시스템은 제스처를 통해 자유롭게 그림을 그릴 수 있는 시스템으로 그림을 그리는 붓의 굵기 선택, 지우개를 이용한 그림 지우기, 사물을 이용한 물감색 선택, 템플릿을 이용한 그림그리기 등을 수행하는 다양한 제스처가 정의 되어 있고, 제스처를 이용하여 화면에 자유롭게 그림을 그릴 수 있도록 함으로써 사용자의 몰입감과 흥미를 높일 수 있도록 설계 구현되었다. 제안 시스템은 원하는 템플릿을 이용하여 색칠하기를 수행하는 템플릿 기반 드로잉 레이어와 템플릿 없이 자유롭게 그림을 그리는 프리 드로잉 레이어를 지원함으로써 다양한 그림 그리기가 가능하도록 구현되었다.

The Effects of Small Group Drawing in Learning the Particulate Nature of Matter (물질의 입자성에 대한 학습에서 소집단 그림 그리기의 효과)

  • This study investigated the effects of small group drawing in learning the concepts of particulate nature of matter. Three classes of seventh graders (N = 126) at a coed middle school were randomly assigned to a pair drawing group, an individualistic drawing group, and a control group. The students were taught the 'three states of matter' and 'motion of molecules' for eight class periods. Prior to these classes, student self-efficacy, learning motivation, and attitude toward science instruction were examined. After instruction, tests assessing achievement, conception, learning motivation, and attitude toward science instruction were administered. Two-way ANCOVA results revealed that scores of achievement and conception for the pair drawing group were significantly higher than those for the control group. However, scores of the three groups did not significantly differ in learning motivation and attitude toward science instruction. Furthermore, no significant interactions surfaced between instruction and the level of self-efficacy in all dependent variables.

  • Students have often experienced difficulties in understanding the concept of the particulate nature of matter despite its importance in chemistry. Although various instructional methods have been suggested for teaching this concept, systematic studies have been rarely conducted. Therefore, this study investigated the effects of drawing and analyzing pictures. Three classes of 7th graders at a coed middle school in Seoul were assigned to the control group, the drawing group, and the analyzing group, respectively. Students were taught about the three states of matter and the motion of molecules for 8 class periods. The instructional effects on student conception, achievement, and science learning motivation were investigated by student visual learning styles. Results revealed that the scores of a conceptions test and a science learning motivation test for both the drawing group and the analyzing group were higher than those for the control group. Additionally, the scores of the science learning motivation test were also found to be higher for students with a more visual learning style than their counterparts.

  • 일본 만화를 복제하는 아르바이트로 시작한 만화그리기, 그림체가 일본식으로 굳어져 도서히 고칠 수가 없을 지경이 되고 말았다. 그림체를 바꾸겠다는 결심으로 서른이 다된 나이에 독일로 유학을 떠났고 밑바닥부터 새로 시작했다. 연구끝에 만들어낸 나만의 스타일, 지금도 그 그림체를 즐기고 있다.

  • As many people went through Corona, they began to be interested in picture diaries that record their daily lives. However, existing applications have many paid services, and it is difficult to write a picture diary for those who have difficulty drawing themselves. In this paper, an application was developed to solve these problems. Basically, drawing diary writing function is provided, drawing is provided in the hand drawing function to increase convenience, and AI drawing function is added to make it possible to draw through keywords for those who have difficulty drawing. In addition, the emotional analysis function was added so that one could see one's past emotional statistics through the statistical function.

  • The purpose of this research was to look at whether small group drawing activities can be applied to learning content that combine mathematics and art, by analyzing the changes in $10^{th}$ grade students' interests in mathematics and particular features of their strategic thinking that were reflected in small group drawing activities using graphs and inequations. The results of the study are as follows: 1. The small group drawing activity using graphs and inequations demonstrated that students interests in mathematics could experience positive changes. 2. The small group drawing activity using graphs and inequations was effective in stimulating the students' strategic thinking skills, which are higher level thinking activities necessary for creating problem solving. As the students went through the whole process of accomplishing a complete goal, the students engaged in integrated thinking activities that brought understandings of basic graphs and inequations together, and were also found to use such higher level thinking functions needed in achieving creative problem solving such as critical thinking, flexible thinking, development-oriented thinking, and inferential thinking. 3. The small group drawing activity using graphs and in equations could be expected to constitute learning content that integrate mathematics and art, and is an effective solution in boosting students' strengths in mathematics by way of activities that consider students' unique cognitive and qualitative peculiarities and through integration with art.

  • The purpose of this paper is to plan and implement e-storytelling for improving children's creativity, which consists of e-storytelling, thinking questions, and character sticker canvas. Especially It makes children draw paintings feel easier by character sticker. This webapp shows the flash animation e-storytelling and gives the question to answer by painting with a fertile imagination on the canvas as transforming the character sticker. A user can input the title of painting and store it when finish the drawing. This is an educational tool which makes educatees think more and express their ideas through questions. Therefore, we can check how much children's imagination is changed and diversed by the stored paintings.

Crossing the Gap between Elementary School Mathematics and Secondary School Mathematics: The Case of Systems of Linear Equations (그림그리기 전략을 통한 초.중등수학의 연립방정식 지도 연결성 강화)

  • This study deals with the problem of transition from arithmetic to algebra and the relationship between elementary and secondary school mathematics for systems of linear equations. In elementary school, activity for solving word problems related to systems of linear equations in two variables falls broadly into using two strategies: Guess and check and making a table. In secondary school, those problems are solved algebraically, for example, by solving systems of equations using the technique of elimination. The analysis of mathematics textbooks shows that there is no link between strategies of elementary school mathematics and secondary school mathematics. We devised an alternative way to reinforce link between elementary and secondary school mathematics for systems of linear equations. Drawing a diagram can be introduced as a strategy solving word problems related to systems of linear equations in two variables in elementary school. Moreover it is closely related to the idea of the technique of elimination of secondary school mathematics. It may be a critical juncture of elementary-secondary school mathematics in the case of systems of linear equations in two variables.

  • 학교 교육에서 문해력과 수리력에 비해 그 중요성이 간과되고 있는 공간 지각 능력과 도해력을 학습하기 위해서 학습자 중심의 지도 그리기 교육이 실제화 되어야 한다. 따라서 이 글에서는 보다 더 실제적 이고 효과적인 지도교육을 위한 지도그리기모듈을 구현하고자 한다. 특히 사회과의 경우 사고의 방법과 과정을 중요시 하는 교육목표를 가지고 있기 때문에, 현재의 저학년 초등교과교육 중 지도 그리기 학습의 문제점을 살펴보고 구체적 조작기의 아동을 위한 공간 능력의 향상과 구체물의 평면화 등 지도 그리기 교육의 목표를 수월하게 도달하기 위한 모듈을 구현하여 초등 지리 교육의 수월성과 함께 학습자의 수준에 맞는 흥미로운 학습을 도모하고자 한다.
