Evaluation of the Degree of the Orthogonality of 2-level Resolution-V Designs Constructed by Balanced Arrays (균형배열에 의해 설계되는 2-수준 Resolution-V 실험법의 직교성 평가측도)

  • Balanced arrays which are generalized orthogonal arrays, introduced by Chakravarti (1956) can be used to construct the fractional factorial designs. Especially for 2-level factorials, balanced arrays with strength 4 are identical to the resolution-V fractional designs. In this paper criteria for evaluation the degree of the orthogonality of balanced arrays of 2-levels with strength 4 are developed and some application methods of the suggested criteria are discussed. As a result, in this paper, we introduce the constructing methods of near orthogonal saturated balanced resolution-V fractional 2-level factorial designs.

  • 2수준계 요인실험법에서 Kim(1992) 에 의해 균형배열을 이용하여 설계된 resolution V 포화균형부분실시법에서 추정량들의 공분산행렬을 계산하여 통계적 특성을 연구하였다. 이러한 부분실시법은 최소의 처리조합수를 가지고 주효과와 2인자 교호작용까지 분석할 수 있는 특징이 있다. 특히 본 논문에서는 인자의 수에 따라 설계가능한 8개의 부분실시법들간의 유사성과 통계적 효율성, 그리고 index number들의 변화에 따른 공분산행렬의 특성을 살펴보았다.

  • In this paper, minimal balanced $2^t$ fractional factorial designs which permit the estimation of main effects and 2-factor interactions are developed by using a partially balanced array. Such designs are characterized by a minimum number of runs and some balancedness property of the variance-covariance matrix of the estimates. In addition to describing the designs, optimality criteria are discussed and the trace-optimal designs are presented. The proposed designs are especially useful in Taguchi method, where we need to investigate up to 2-factor interactions of the control factors.

  • 멀티미디어 DBMS는 연속매체를 서비스할 때 동시에 보다 많은 사용자들에게 일정한 서비스 품질을 유지하면서 서비스를 제공할 수 있어야 한다. 이를 위하여 멀티미디어 DBMS를 위한 저장시스템은 보다 큰 디스크 대역폭을 지원해야 하므로 디스크 배열의 구조를 갖는 것이 바람직하다. 디스크 배열 환경에서 다수의 연속매체를 병행적으로 서비스할 때 요구 데이터를 순차접근에 의하여 검색할 수 있으면 디스크 대역폭을 탐색시간 등으로 소모하지 않으므로 고속 디스크 대역폭을 유지할 수 있다. 또한, 디스크 접근시 디스브 부하 균형을 유지할 수 있으면 자원 활용율이 높은 고성능의 저장 시스템이 될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 연속매체들을 순차접근에 의해서 처리하면서 디스크 부하 균형을 유지할 수 있는 데이터 배치 기법을 제안한다. 제안한 데이터 배치기법에 의한 성능평가는 모의 실험 전용틀인 AweSim 2.0을 사용하였다.

Investigating daily schedules of married couple by focusing on work-life balance : Comparison of work-life time by gender according to couple-combined work schedules (일-생활 균형 관점에서 본 기혼남녀의 시간표 : 부부결합 가구노동시간 유형에 따른 남녀의 일-생활시간의 비교분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine work-life balance by analyzing time schedules of married couple. The 2014 Korea Time Use Survey dataset was used for the analysis. Finally, 6,262 time diaries of 3,131 households were included in the analysis. The study used sequence analysis in particular, by applying the Lesnard(2014)'s dynamic hamming matching (DHM) method, which is useful for the time diary analysis where timing is a key factor. This study explored daily schedules of each man and woman according to 9 types of couple-combined work-schedules, which had been already derived by cluster analysis. The daily schedules were identified according to the activities divided as labor, housework, sleep, self-management, active leisure, passive leisure, and others. Here, time allocation was analyzed through various graphs showing average time amount and modal states by time period. Based on the analysis, it summarized that "long working hours as a main factor of work-life imbalance", "gender inequality of time use", "non-standard hours work impairing quality of life and "poverty of leisure time"as characteristics of work-life imbalance. Finally this study discussed the social policy implications to support work-life balance.

  • In a VOD system, it is desirable to provide the user with interactive VCR functions such as fast-forward and fast-backward. Typically, these functions can be implemented using the segment interleaving technique in disk away based VOD servers. But the segment interleaving nay not ensure QoS of users because of the concentrated load within some disks. In this paper, we propose an efficient load balancing technique for evenly distributing the retrieval requests across the disks. The proposed technique maintains an access counter in each disk, which has the number of disk accesses. The fast-forward/backward can be achieved by choosing a segment to be accessed from the disk with the minimum number among the access counters. We conduct simulation experiments and then show that our proposed technique outperforms the previous ones.

  • For design optimization, engineers should require the accurate information of design space and then explore the design space and carry out optimization. Recently, the total design framework, based on design of experiments and optimization, is widely used in industry areas to explore the design space above all. For optimizing turbofan engine design point, the response surface model is constructed by using the 7 level orthogonal array which satisfies the statistical uniformity and orthogonality and gets the dense design space information. The multi-objective genetic algorithm is used to find the optimal solution within the given constraints for finding global optimal one in response surface model. The optimal solution from response surface model is verified with GasTurb simulation result.

Printed Dipole Antenna Fed by Broadsided Coupled Stripline for Wideband (측면 결합 스트립 선로를 이용한 광대역 프린트 다이폴 안테나)

  • In this paper, the design of a printed dipole antenna fed by broadside coupled striplines (BCS) for the 3.5GHz band is described. The two fins of the bow tie are, respectively, on the two sides of the substrate. The feeding balanced lines adopted for 1×2 array are the BCS. The obtained numerical results are in good agreement with experimental data. Through experiments with printed dipole antennas of various extended angles, the printed dipole antenna exhibits the wide bandwidth in the desired frequency band, which has a bandwidth of 28% for VSWR < 2.0 : 1. And within this bandwidth, This printed dipole antenna achieves a stable radiation pattern. It is found that the narrow band and feeding for array characteristic which is a disadvantage of the conventional printed dipole antenna can be improved. The radiation pattern showed omnidirectional characteristics and the maximum gain was about 4.4dBi.
