Shielding Analysis for Industrial Package: Focusing on Dry Active Waste (IP형 운반용기 차폐해석-잡고체폐기물을 중심으로)

  • In this study, maximum exposure rate at DAW(Dry Active Waste) drum surface which is satisfying regulation limit was calculated for conceptual design of IP(Industrial Package). DAW can be classified as combustible and non-combustible waste and the calculation was conducted for single and mixed radionuclide for each type of waste. In case of combustible waste that mixed radionuclide is uniformly distributed, the maximum exposure rates at drum surface were 3.60E-01, 8.85E-01 and 1.27E+01 mSv/hr for IP Type 1, 2-a and 2-b, respectively. and 3.60E-01, 8.85E-01, 1.27E+01 mSv/hr for single radionuclide(Co-60). In case of non-combustible waste that mixed radionuclide is uniformly distributed, the maximum exposure rates at drum surface were 7.14E-01, 1.83E+00, 2.69E+01 mSv/hr for IP Type 1, 2-a and 2-b, respectively. and 7.13E-01, 1.81E-01, 2.62E+01 mSv/hr for single radionuclide(Co-60). Through this study, the maximum amount of DAW can be transported by IP was suggested as maximum exposure rate at drum surface and the calculation for the other types of waste will be conducted.

Change of Image Quality within Compression of AAPM CT Performance Phantom Image Using JPEG2000 in PACS (PACS에서 JPEG2000을 이용한 AAPM CT Performance Phantom영상의 압축에 따른 화질변화)

  • This study examines image quality of medical image after compression using JPEG2000 for AAPM CT Performance Phantom in PACS. The compressed images of 15:1 showed change of 1.93% and 0.81% in the CT number of water and the slice thickness, respectively, compared to the original images. The variation of the uniformity did not give a correlation for each measured area. In noise measurements at compressions of 10:1 and 15:1, changes of 1.47% to 10.99% were observed, respectively. The noise showed incremation tendency as increasing over the compression ratio 15:1, and the noise of 81.68% was measured at a compression of 40:1. CT number, uniformity, slice thickness, spatial resolution and contrast resolution for the compressed images were slightly changed by increasing the compression ratio. However, the noise was seriously changed relatively at the compressed images. Thus the noise was a important factor to determine the compression ration. A compression ratio of 10:1 for the AAPM CT Performance Phantom image was appropriate and could be applied to diagnostic images.

  • For H-polarized incident plane wave, an exact integral expression for the scattered field by an inversely tapered resistive half plane is obtained by using Kontorovich-Lebedev transform. Uniform asymptotic results available for all angles are obtained, and non-uniform asymptotic results which provide the ray-optical interpretation of the calculated scattered field are also obtained. The edge diffraction patterns for several values of inverse proportionality of resistivity are shown. We find out that the results are in agreement with physical reasoning.

  • Thermophoretic particle deposition on a circular cylinder in a uniform laminar air flow was numerically investigated using a control volume method based on the generalized non-orthogonal coordinate system. Variation of air properties due to the change of temperature was taken into account. Effects of variable property on the distribution of heat transfer and deposition rates of particle were discussed. A new correlation of thermophoretic particle deposition on a circular cylinder was proposed in the present study.

  • 본 연구는 시화호 표층에 분포하는 점착성 퇴적물의 침식특성을 정량적으로 산정하고 산정된 침식특성의 지엽적 변화 및 타 지역 침식특성 결과와의 비교/분석을 통한 공간적 변화 해석을 목적으로 환형수조를 이용한 침식 실험을 수행하였다. 또한 퇴적물 자체의 물리 화학적 특성 및 해수 특성이 침식특성에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위하여 시화호 점착성 퇴적물에 대한 물리 화학적 특성 및 해수 특성에 대한 분석이 수행되었다. 침식실험은 균일저면 조건에서 3개 지점에 대해 지점별로 $5{\sim}7$회씩 총 17회의 실험이 수행되었으며, 본 연구를 통하여 도출되어지는 시화호 점착성 퇴적물의 침식특성 매개변수들은 시화호 해역에서의 수층 탁도 분포 및 세굴/퇴적량 산정 등을 위한 수치모형실험 시에 기초 입력 자료로 크게 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • This paper is estimated to enhance yield improvement and device reliability using PDM(plasma damage monitoring) system capable of in-suit detection about plasma nonuniformity. PDM Tool is the non-contact method of wafer and surface potential electrode(kelvin probe). Its tool measures Vox(oxide barrier) with charge created by plasma. It's possible to inspect the wafer damage generated by plasma charge and analysis of in-situ monitoring data. we obtained the good data which is continuously prevented from plasma damage using its tool for 10weeks. This tool is contributed to preventive steps contemporaneously inspecting the difference of inter-chamber.

  • This study presents the analysis of flood and bed deformation caused by reservoir failure. The CCHE1D is used to simulate 1D non-uniform, non-equilibrium sediment transport and bed deformation. The CCHE1D deals with the adaptation length for non-equilibrium sediment, classified sediment particle for non-uniform sediment and mixing layer for the exchange with the sediment moving with the flow. The model is applied to Ha!Ha! river basin where was experienced reservoir failure in 1996 to analyze non-uniform and non-equilibrium sediment transport. The calculations are compared with morphological bed changes of pre- and post-flood. In addition, model sensitivity to main parameters involving adaptation length ($L_{s,b}$), non-equilibrium coefficient (${\alpha}_s$), mixing layer thickness (${\delta}_m$) and porosity (p') is analyzed. The results indicates that thalweg change is the most sensitive to non-equilibrium coefficient (${\alpha}_s$) among those parameters in the study area.

  • 일반 나일론6 폴리머 대비 수축률이 높은 수축률을 가질 수 있는 나일론 고수축 개질 폴리머를 개발하고 이를 이용하여 고권축/고벌키 특성이 우수한 세섬 20d급의 나일론/Co-나일론계 고권축 소재를 개발하기 위하여 나일론 개질폴리머의 구조와 물성에 대한 연구 조사가 필요하다. 기존 나일론6 중합은 카프로락탐만을 사용하여 중합되므로 선형의 분자 구조를 가지게 되어 섬유형태로 방사했을 경우 수축률이 균일하게 되므로 수축율이 다른 나이론 폴리머를 만들기 위해서는 카프로락탐 외에 폴리머 분자구조를 변화 시킬 수 있는 공중합 모노머를 사용하여 랜덤하게 공중합을 해야한다. 일반적으로 사용되는 공중합 모노머는 말단이 -COOH나 -NH2로 되어서 카프로락탐과 반응할 수 있는 물질이 많이 사용되어 진다. 최근 수축률을 높이기 위한 공중합 모노머로는 SSIPA나 Meta xylene diamine과 같이 비 선형구조를 가지는 모노머를 사용하여 폴리머의 구조를 변화시켜 수축율을 높이고 있다. 이를 일반 나이론 6와 사이드 바이 사이드 방사를 하게 되면 두 폴리머의 수축율 차이로 인해 미케니컬 수축력을 발현시키고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 스포츠/레저용 초경량 Nylon 박지에 적합한 자발신장 개념인 Nylon6 잠재권축 소재를 개발하기 위하여 $14^D$수준의 Co-Nylon6의 구조와 물성을 조사 검토하여 이를 실제 현장에 자료를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 하였다.

Analysis of Optimum Design of Stepped Bar Horn for 20kHz Metal Ultrasonic Welding (20kHz 급 금속 초음파 융착용 스텝형 바 혼의 최적설계)

  • In this study, the FEM technique was applied to design the shape of the horn that transmits ultrasonic vibration energy to the base material, and the shape of the welding horn with a one-wavelength bar shape used in the 20kHz region was designed. The shape design of the horn was performed by applying the rod longitudinal vibration theory to Ansys APDL (Ansys Parametric Design Language). Twenty-five models were designed using the ratio of the area of the input and output surfaces of the vibration and the length of the horn to derive the appropriate horn shape. The horn was designed with a total length of 130mm, a step length of 65mm, and an output area of 28.79mm. The horn was fabricated using the optimized dimensions, and the vibration and displacement characteristics of the horn were evaluated using the measurement system. Finally, a uniform longitudinal step horn was designed, and more than 97.4% of the uniformity of the tip was secured. The amplitude ratio of the optimized horn was improved by 51%.

Strain Analysis in the Skin and Core Layers of Cross-Ply Composite Laminates Using A-EFPI Optical Fiber Sensor (광섬유 A-EFPI 센서를 이용한 직교적층 복합재료의 표피층 및 내부층의 변형률 해석)

  • Longitudinal strains (${\varepsilon}_x$) of the core and skin layers in glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) cross-ply composite laminates have been measured using the embedded optical fiber sensor of absolute extrinsic Fabry-Perot interferometer (A-EFPI). Transmission optical microscopy was used to investigate the damage behavior around the A-EFPI sensor. Foil-type strain gauges bonded on both the upper and lower surfaces were used for the measurement of the surface strains. It was shown that values of ${\varepsilon}_x$ in the interior of the skin layer and the core layer measured by embedded A-EFPI sensor were significantly higher than that of the specimen surface measured by strain gauges. The experimental results agreed well with those from finite element analysis on the basis of uniform stress model. Large strains in the core layer led to the occurrence of many transverse cracks which drastically reduced the strain at failure of optical fiber sensor embedded in the core layer.
