  • This study was excuted to decide the physiological characteristics of Kuehneromyces mutabilis. K. mutabilis was tested to select pertinent substract, temperature and pH range for the growth. Mycelial growth of K. mutabilis was mostly supported on MYPA among other tested synthetic or semi-synthetic media. The temperature range for pertinent mycelial growth was about 25~32$^{\circ}C$ and mostly stimulated at $25^{\circ}C$. And the pertinent pH range of MYPA was 5.0~6.0. The required carbon and nitrogen source for mycelial growth of K. mutabilis was tested. The mycelial growth was mostly stimulated by soluble starch at content. The carbon sources for pertinent mycelial growth was mannose or glucose. And the nitrogen source for pertinent mycelial growth was yeast extract or peptone.

  • It is possible to cultivate Pleurotus ostreatus on the crush medium of Reynoutria sachalinensis. The crush of leaves and stems of Reynoutria sachalinensis with water (1:8 W/V) enhanced mycelial growth of P. ostreatus. That mycelial growth of P. ostreatus on the crush medium was accelerated three times as fast as that on malt extract agar (MEA), and mycelial compactness was denser than that of on MEA. The same result was obtained on mixture of saw dust and the crush of leaves and stems in test tube and bottle. The addition of rice bran and the crush to saw dust was best for mycelial growth. Regardless of pH (4.5, 6.5 and 8.5), P. ostreatus could suppress the growth.

  • This study was done to find out the effect of seven widely used herbicides on mycelial growth, productivity and germ inability of sclerotium of Corticiurm sasakii growing on artificial media. The results obtained are as follows: (1) 2,4-D amine inhibited at 5 to 1000ppm mycelial growth and at 2.5 to 1000ppm sclerotia production. At normal field rate, though mycelial growth and sclerotia production were inhibited highly. sclerotial germinability were inhibited slightly. (2) MCP inhibited at 10 to 1000ppm mycelial growth and at 500 to 1000ppm sclerotia production. At normal field rate, though mycelial growth and sclerotia production were inhibited highly, sclerotial germinability were inhibited slightly. (3) DCPA and PCP inhibited highly or perfectly at 2.5 to 1000ppm mycelial growth and sclerotia production. Also sclerotial germinability was inhibited highly at normal field rate. (4) MO inhibited at 125 to 1000ppm mycelial growth and at 10 to 1000ppm sclerotia production. At normal field rate, though mycelial growth was not inhibited, sclerotial germinabitity was inhibited moderately. (5) CP-53619 inhibited at 2.5 to 1000ppm mycelial growth and at 10 to 1000ppm sclerotia production. At normal field rate, though mycelial growth and sclerotia production were inhibited moderately, sclerotial germinability was inhibited little. (6) NPE inhibited at 5 to 1000ppm mycelial growth and at 10 to 1000ppm sclerotia production. At normal field rate, mycelial growth, productivity and germinability of sclerotium were inhibited slightly.

  • It shows that there is the fastest growth of S. crispa in the weak acid pH5. Also, it shows that S. crispa has the best environment in the MEF media. The next desirable one was as in this array: MES, MEI, YMF, YMM, YMT, YMB, YMI, MEA, PDA. The best fungi-growth of S. crispa is shown within the 0.2% addition of multi-mineral. The slow fungi-growth of S. crispa is shown within as the opposite. The phisical growth of S. crispa has a absolute need of comparatably large amount of P,K,N,S etc as inorganic minerals. In addition of that, as a minor element, Fe, Zn, Cu, Mo, Co, Mn, Cl etc are should be included. The best fungi-growth of S. crispa is shown within the 0.1% addition of biotin. The slow fungi-growth of S. crispa is shown within as the opposite. The best fungi-growth of S. crispa is shown within the 2% addition of fructose. The slow fungi-growth of S. crispa is shown within as the opposite.

  • The present researches were carried out to examine the favorable nutritional conditions for mycelial growth of Cercospora kikuchii, and inhibition of bacterial growth by the fungus at various cultural conditions. As the nitrogen source, the fungus grew better on yeast-extract than the other sources of nitrogen tested. Sucrose, glucose, maltose and fructose were good sources of carbon for mycelial growth of the fungus. Two isolates of C. kikuchii, wild types A and D, inhibited the growth of bacteria on the medium containing yeast-extract or peptone as the nitrogen source, and sucrose, glucose, maltose or fructose as the carbon source, at pH 5.0. However, the albino mutant showed very little inhibitory effect under the same conditions.

  • This study was carried out to obtain the basic data on artificial culture of Sparassis crispa. The mycelial growth and density were good in the PBA, PDA and PDM media, and especially prominent in the PBA medium. The optimum condition for the mycelial growth was $25^{\circ}C$ and pH 5.0, respectively. The carbon sources such as glucose, fructose, mannose, xylose(monosaccharide) and maltose(disaccharide) were favorable to mycelial growth of S crispa. The optimal concentration of glucose is 1.0~1.5%. As nitrogen sources, threonine, peptone, glycine, glutamine and valine appeared to be favorable to the mycelial growth and density. The optimal concentration of peptone is 0.3%.
