Design and Implementation of a Reusable and Extensible HL7 Encoding/Decoding Framework (재사용성과 확장성 있는 HL7 인코딩/디코딩 프레임워크의 설계 및 구현)

  • this paper, we propose a flexible, reusable, and extensible HL7 encoding and decoding framework using a Message Object Model (MOM) and Message Definition Repository (MDR). The MOM provides an abstract HL7 message form represented by a group of objects and their relationships. It reflects logical relationships among the standard HL7 message elements such as segments, fields, and components, while enforcing the key structural constraints imposed by the standard. Since the MOM completely eliminates the dependency of the HL7 encoder and decoder on platform-specific data formats, it makes it possible to build the encoder and decoder as reusable standalone software components, enabling the interconnection of arbitrary heterogeneous hospital information systems(HISs) with little effort. Moreover, the MDR, an external database of key definitions for HL7 messages, helps make the encoder and decoder as resilient as possible to future modifications of the standard HL7 message formats. It is also used by the encoder and decoder to perform a well formedness check for their respective inputs (i. e., HL7 message objects expressed in the MOM and encoded HL7 message strings). Although we implemented a prototype version of the encoder and decoder using JAVA, they can be easily packaged and delivered as standalone components using the standard component frameworks like ActiveX, JAVABEAN, or CORBA component.

BCDR algorithm for network estimation based on pseudo-likelihood with parallelization using GPU (유사가능도 기반의 네트워크 추정 모형에 대한 GPU 병렬화 BCDR 알고리즘)

  • Graphical model represents conditional dependencies between variables as a graph with nodes and edges. It is widely used in various fields including physics, economics, and biology to describe complex association. Conditional dependencies can be estimated from a inverse covariance matrix, where zero off-diagonal elements denote conditional independence of corresponding variables. This paper proposes a efficient BCDR (block coordinate descent with random permutation) algorithm using graphics processing units and random permutation for the CONCORD (convex correlation selection method) based on the BCD (block coordinate descent) algorithm, which estimates a inverse covariance matrix based on pseudo-likelihood. We conduct numerical studies for two network structures to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed algorithm for the CONCORD in terms of computation times.

  • An agent system is comsisted of agents that have the following properties: autonomy, scial ability, reactivity, pro-activeness.It provides a good enbironment to an end-user.Therefore, an end-user can feel more natural and comfortable in using a computer system.However, a system develper will have difficulty because he(or she) has to follow the funditons and the speiciffcation which are generally required for an agent system.Moreover, it is hard to ues resoures mutually and share information between agent systems that are solely developed without satisfying the standardization .In this paper, we describe the requirments for and agent development tools(ADT).We also introduce the ADT that is developed to efficiently resolve the problems occurred in develping an agent system.The main properties of the ADT are:ether expert or non-expert can easily intervace an appli-cation to existiong agent systems and effectively manage the resoures that are related to the agent systems.There-fore , one can easily expand agent system and achieve high quality of services with our ADT.

Effect of Participation in Regular Leisure Sports on Satisfaction with Family Relationship in Adolescents (청소년의 규칙적인 여가스포츠 참여가 가족관계 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of participation in regular leisure sports on satisfaction with family relationship in adolescents. To achieve this purpose, 650 students of elementary and middle schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi area were selected and surveyed using the purposive sampling method. 611 survey samples were used in final analysis and 39 survey samples were excluded because of untrustworthy response. Statistical program AMOS 18.0 was used to conduct the confirmatory factor analysis and goodness of fit test, and SPSS 21.0 Window program was used to conduct analysis of frequency, t-test, and ANOVA. Through the analysis, the main findings were as follows; First, it was found that the adolescents participating in regular leisure sports has significant difference in satisfaction with family relationships compared to non-participation group. Second, satisfaction with family relationship of parental participation group in regular leisure sport was high the most followed by lonely participation group and non-participation group. Finally, authors described the implications and future studies.

Pupil Data Measurement and Social Emotion Inference Technology by using Smart Glasses (스마트 글래스를 활용한 동공 데이터 수집과 사회 감성 추정 기술)

  • This study aims to objectively and quantitatively determine the social emotion of empathy by collecting pupillary response. 52 subjects (26 men and 26 women) voluntarily participated in the experiment. After the measurement of the reference of 30 seconds, the experiment was divided into the task of imitation and spontaneously self-expression. The two subjects were interacted through facial expressions, and the pupil images were recorded. The pupil data was processed through binarization and circular edge detection algorithm, and outlier detection and removal technique was used to reject eye-blinking. The pupil size according to the empathy was confirmed for statistical significance with test of normality and independent sample t-test. Statistical analysis results, the pupil size was significantly different between empathy (M ± SD = 0.050 ± 1.817)) and non-empathy (M ± SD = 1.659 ± 1.514) condition (t(92) = -4.629, p = 0.000). The rule of empathy according to the pupil size was defined through discriminant analysis, and the rule was verified (Estimation accuracy: 75%) new 12 subjects (6 men and 6 women, mean age ± SD = 22.84 ± 1.57 years). The method proposed in this study is non-contact camera technology and is expected to be utilized in various virtual reality with smart glasses.

Quality of Life and Its Related Factors Among Metropolitan-dwelling Older Adults (도시지역 재택 고령자의 삶의 질(Quality of Life) 및 관련요인)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationships between quality of life and demographic characteristics and health-related behavioral characteristics, and their relevance to variables that represent health conditions among metropolitan-dwelling older adults. The study subjects were 380 senior citizens aged 65 or older living in the D metropolitan area, and data collection was conducted by visiting them for interviews in June 2019. A binomial logistic regression analysis was performed to examine the relationship between independent variables (demographic characteristics, health-related behavioral characteristics, health condition variables) and the dependent variable (quality of life) while controlling for gender and age. As a result, the factors related to quality of life for those surveyed were education level, spousal status, living status, bear for living expenses, average monthly allowance, satisfaction with daily life, evaluation of sleep quality, smoking and eating habits, amount of regular exercise, hobbies, subjective health status, physical disability (if any), hearing ability, visual acuity, mastication ability, urinary incontinence (present or not), and amnesia. The above results suggest that quality of life for the elderly living in urban areas is significantly related to variables that indicate demographic characteristics, health-related behavioral characteristics, and health condition.

Dynamic Characteristic Analysis of 3-Piece Freight Vehicle with Wedge Friction Damper Using ADAMS (ADAMS를 이용한 3-Piece 마찰 웨지 댐퍼가 장착된 화차의 동특성 해석)

  • In this work, an independent-load friction wedge model was developed using the ADAMS/View program to predict the performance of a freight vehicle with a bogie employing a 3-piece friction wedge. The friction wedge model can generate friction according to lateral and vertical directions of the bolster. The developed friction wedge model was applied to the ADAMS/Rail vehicle model, and results of the dynamic analysis showed a critical speed of 210km/h. In the linear safety analysis, it was confirmed that the lateral and vertical limit of acceleration of the vehicle were satisfied based on UIC518. In the 300R curve line, the application speed was 70km/h, which was satisfied with the limit acceleration of the car-body and bogie based on UIC518. Also, the developed model satisfied the wheel loading, lateral force and derailment coefficient of "The Regulations on Safety Standards for Railway Vehicles"

  • Intelligent Motion Planning System(IMPS) is presented for a robot to achieve an efficient path toward the given target point in two dimensional unknown environment is constructed with unrestricted obstacle shapes. IMPS consists of three components for making intelligent motion. These components are real-time motion planning algorithm based on a discontinous boundary method, fuzzy neural network decision system for heuristic knowledge representation, and world modeling with forgetting and reinforcing memory cells. First of all, in real-time motion planning algorithm, the behavior-based architectural method is used to generate subgoal. A behavior generates a subgoal independently by using the method of discontinuous boundary in sensed area. The discontinuous boundary method is a new proposed fast obstacle avoidance algorithm. The second component is fuzzy neural network decision system for accomplishing the subgoal. The heuristic rules are imbedded on the fuzzy neural network to make an intelligent decision. The last one is a forgetting, reinforcing memory technique for the construction of external world map. The activation values of all activated memory cells in grid space are decreased monotonically and after all they are burned out. Therefore, after sufficient journey, robot can have a stationary world map even if the dynaic obstacles exist. Using the IMPS, several simulations show the efficient achievement of target point in unknown enviroment with obstcles of various shapes.

  • While the existing Web focuses on the interface with human users based on HTML, the next generation Web will focus on the interaction among software agents by using XML and XML-based standards and technologies. The inference engine, which will serve as brains of software agents in the next generation Web, should thoroughly understand the Semantic Web, the standard language of the next generation Web. As abasis for the service, the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) has recommended SWRL (Semantic Web Rule Language) which had been made by compounding OWL (Web Ontology Language) and RuleML (Rule Markup Language). In this research, we develop a backward chaining inference engine SMART-B (SeMantic web Agent Reasoning Tools -Backward chaining inference engine), which uses SWRL and OWL to represent rules and facts respectively. We analyze the requirements for the SWRL-based backward chaining inference and design analgorithm for the backward chaining inference which reflects the traditional backward chaining inference algorithm and the requirements of the next generation Semantic Web. We also implement the backward chaining inference engine and the administrative tools for fact and rule bases into Java components to insure the independence and portability among different platforms under the environment of Ubiquitous Computing.

Emotion Recognition Method of Competition-Cooperation Using Electrocardiogram (심전도를 이용한 경쟁-협력의 감성 인식 방법)

  • Attempts have been made to recognize social emotion, including competition-cooperation, while designing interaction in work places. This study aimed to determine the cardiac response associated with classifying competition-cooperation of social emotion. Sixty students from Sangmyung University participated in the study and were asked to play a pattern game to experience the social emotion associated with competition and cooperation. Electrocardiograms were measured during the task and were analyzed to obtain time domain indicators, such as RRI, SDNN, and pNN50, and frequency domain indicators, such as VLF, LF, HF, VLF/HF, LF/HF, lnVLF, lnLF, lnHF, and lnVLF/lnHF. The significance of classifying social emotions was assessed using an independent t-test. The rule-base for the classification was determined using significant parameters of 30 participants and verified from data obtained from another 30 participants. As a result, 91.67% participants were correctly classified. This study proposes a new method of classifying social emotions of competition and cooperation and provides objective data for designing social interaction.
