Physiological Activity and Effects on Lipid Peroxidation of Hot Water-Extract Obtained from Euonymus alatus in Cultured Rat Hepatocyte (Rat의 hepatocyte에서 $amyloid-{\beta$}$로 유발된 세포사, 지질과산화 및 세포산화에 대한 귀전우 열수 추출물의 보호효과)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the physiological activityof the water extract from EA. The present study was done to investigate the effects of EA on cultured hepatocyte cell system and lipid peroxidation in $A{\beta}$ treatment conditions. Pretreatment of EA attenuated in cell cytotoxicity enhanced by increasing concentrations of $A{\beta}$. MDA level induced by $A{\beta}$ treatment was significantly increased and the level was slightly reduced by pretreatment of EA. The ability of EA to reduce cell death and MDA level induced by $A{\beta}$ suggest that EA may be a protective agent against free radical generating compounds such as $A{\beta}$. EA exhibited anti oxidative activity at all concentration tested.The extract was as good as antioxidative activity of the synthetic antioxidants, butylated hydroxy toluene and ascorbic acid. Furthermore, this was superior to that of natural antioxidant, a-tocopherol. In the presence of heavy metal ions ($Fe^{2+},{\;}Zn^{2+}$), EA showed strong antioxidative activity. The extracts showed about 3075% in the nitrite scavenging effect under pH 1.2 and $37^{\circ}C$ for 1 hr. There was significant difference among concentration of extracts.

  • This paper shows the results about field operating digital hearing aids which protect the ears of the battle field soldiers from explosive sound and minimize the difficulty of mutual communication during the battle. The essence of the hearing aid is in its signal compression technology in which soft sound is amplified while rapidly increased explosive sound is attenuated. This nonlinear compression technology can be applied for the protection of the ears of the battle field soldiers. As a core part of the hearing aid, when a new DSP IC chip is launched, the modified firmware and fitting software is developed for adaption. Ezairo 5910 which was recently launched by DSP factory in Canada was used for the development of the firmware of the hearing aid.

The Conservation Value of Endangered Marine Species: The Case of the Ellobium Chinense (보호대상해양생물의 보전가치 추정: 대추귀고둥을 대상으로)

  • This paper attempts to quantitatively assess the conservation value of Ellobium chinense (EC), which belongs to the endangered marine species designated by Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. To this end, we apply the contingent valuation (CV) method, an economic technique of valuing a non-market goods such as EC. A national survey of randomly selected 1,000 households was administered in order to derive the public's willingness to pay (WTP) for conserving EC. One-and-one-half-bound model was adopted to elicit the WTP responses and a spike model was employed to deal with the zero WTP responses. The results show that the conservation value of EC is estimated to be 2,346 won per household per year that is statistically significant at the 1% level. Expanding the value to the national population gives us an annual value of 43.8 billion won. We can judge that the Korean people are willing to pay a significant amount to conserve EC.

  • 병충해의 방제목적은 벼의 생육기간 중 벼를 병충해로부터 보호하여 피해를 아주 적게 함으로써 경제적 손실을 막는 데 있다. 이른 봄부터 벼농사 준비를 하여 모기르기, 모내기, 초중기 병충해방제를 잘하여 수확을 눈앞에 두게 되었는데 벼농사 후기에 기상재해 특히 병충해방제 소홀로 예상치 못한 피해를 보아 흉년을 보는 예가 흔히 있다. 특히 비래성 해충은 갑자기 폭발적으로 증가하여 혹독한 피해를 줄 수 있으므로 예찰정보 및 병충해 발생경보등에 귀를 기우려 사전방제에 철저를 기해야 하겠다.

A study of the Indoor-Impulse Noise Attenuation Effect for the Hearing Protection Devices (청각 보호 장구의 실내 충격소음 차음성능에 관한 연구)

  • The objective of this study is the frequency of the noise source 170 dB level of impulsive sound attenuation performance by earplugs to identify, to analyze the frequency characteristics of a shape and pattern. The attenuation performance of the impulsive noise by the frequency levels on the Combat Arm and 3M Form types 1100 Earplugs were evaluated. In order to check the sound attenuation performance of the B&K head and torso simulator and sound attenuation performance of the ear simulator data was verified. Previous studies have most impact, even in the noise source and the impulse noise level is 140 dB, but this study is higher than that of the impulsive noise source features. The results of the impulse noise attenuation effect is frequency-dependent mean 28.58 dB.

A Study on the Changes in Gwi-po from Tang to Jin Dynasty in China - Focusing on the connection type of Jwau-dae(左右隊) - (중국 당대~금대 목조 건축의 귀포 변천에 관한 연구 - 좌우대의 결구 유형을 중심으로 -)

  • This research has studied the changes of Gwi-po(轉角包) by taking the cases of China's medieval wooden buildings as objects. The purpose of the study is to examine the time-periodic transition process of Gwi-po through the cases of 71 wooden buildings which were built from Tang(唐) dynasty(AD 618~690 & 705~907) until Jin(金) dynasty(AD 1115~1234) and also designated as 'Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level'. This research has taken note of various frame types of Jwau-dae(左右隊), which are architectural components of Gwi-po, to study the changes and development process of Gwi-po. The results are as follows. An important factor in the transformations of Gwi-po format is the changes in perception of the craftsmen about Jwau-dae, who took charge in the building process. In the early periods, the principles of Yidou sanshen dougong(一斗三升) in constructing ancons of Gwi-po had been well-maintained, while there appeared many different types of Gwi-po in later periods, due to the usage of Jwau-dae and $Shu{\check{a}}$ $t{\acute{o}}u$(?頭) in each Chulmok of Gwi-po. Transitional types of Gwi-po, which were evolved from the earlier ones, are divided into 3 categories by different forms of Jwau-dae, placed on odd number stages. The first one is 'none-$f{\bar{a}}ng$ $t{\acute{o}}u$(無枋頭) type' of Song(AD 960~1127, 1127~1279) and Liao dynasty(AD 907~1125) buildings, which doesn't have $f{\bar{a}}ng$ $t{\acute{o}}u$(枋頭)s, for the reason that Jwau-dae(左右隊) is in direct contact with Gwihan-dae(耳限大). The second one is '$Shu{\check{a}}$ $t{\acute{o}}u$ $f{\bar{a}}ng$ $t{\acute{o}}u$(?頭枋頭) type' of Song(AD 960~1127, 1127~1279) and Jin dynasty(AD 1115~1234), that has $f{\bar{a}}ng$ $t{\acute{o}}u$(枋頭)s of Jwau-dae(左右隊) identical to $Shu{\check{a}}$ $t{\acute{o}}u$(?頭) in form. The last one is '$Xi{\check{a}}o$ $g{\check{o}}ng$ $t{\acute{o}}u$(小?頭) type' of Jin(AD 1115~1234) and Yuan dynasty(AD 1271~1368), which has $f{\bar{a}}ng$ $t{\acute{o}}u$(枋頭)s of Jwau-dae identical to $Xi{\check{a}}o$ $g{\check{o}}ng$ $t{\acute{o}}u$(小?頭) in form. The earlier forms of Gwi-po, which appeared between Tang dynasty(AD 618~690 & 705~907) and Five Dynasties periods(907~960) went through transitional forms of 'non-$f{\bar{a}}ng$ $t{\acute{o}}u$(無枋頭) type', '$Shu{\check{a}}$ $t{\acute{o}}u$ $f{\bar{a}}ng$ $t{\acute{o}}u$(?頭枋頭) type' and '$Xi{\check{a}}o$ $g{\check{o}}ng$ $t{\acute{o}}u$(小?頭) type' and finally had its form settled between Yuan(元, AD 1271~1368) and Ming(明. AD 1368~1644) dynasty periods. In Liao(遼) dynasty period(AD 907~1125), as the buildings got bigger and the tendency of longer eave-exposure was implemented, there grew a certain need to structurally reinforce Gwi-po, on which load of the whole roof is concentrated. Especially, the transition from Tōuxīn $z{\grave{a}}o$(偸心造) style to Jì xīn $z{\grave{a}}o$(計心造) style in this period had a great influence on standardization of Gwi-po, along with None-${\acute{A}}ng$(無仰) style. Furthermore, Wing-type Gong(翼型?), which developed in Liao dynasty(AD 907~1125), is also thought to have had a great influence on the transition from Tōuxīn $z{\grave{a}}o$(偸心造) style to Jì xīn $z{\grave{a}}o$(計心造) style by changing the forms of Gongs(?), such as Gwi-po. However, unlike None-${\acute{A}}ng$(無仰) style, there occurred a gradual change from '$Shu{\check{a}}$ $t{\acute{o}}u$ $f{\bar{a}}ng$ $t{\acute{o}}u$(?頭枋頭) type' to '$Xi{\check{a}}o$ $g{\check{o}}ng$ $t{\acute{o}}u$(小?頭) type' of Gwi-po in $Xi{\grave{a}}$ ${\acute{a}}ng$ style.

  • 소음이 청기에 미치는 영향에 대해서는 서기 1세기 경부터 그 기록을 더듬을 수 있다. 1713년 Ramazini는 구리 세공자에게 소음을 방지하기 위한 귀 보호기 사용을 권하였으며, 이후 18세기 중엽 산업 혁명을 거쳐 1,2차 세계대전과 함께 20세기의 폭발적인 산업 발달에 맞추어 소음은 문명의 필연적 산물이 되면서 이에 대한 관심이 높아졌다. 우리나라도 경제 발전과 동시에 공장 소음, 자동차 소음등이 날로 심각해지면서 이에 대한 연구가 활발해지고 있으나, 국내외 모두 소음성난청의 치료 면에서는 뚜렷한 방법을 제시하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 소음에 의한 난청은 일단 한번 발생하면 형태 및 기능이 불가역적이므로 예방만이 유일한 해결책이라고 하겠다.

Comparison of Moral Emotions in Juvenile Offenders on Probation with Non-offenders (보호관찰 청소년과 일반 청소년의 도덕적 정서)

  • Three types of socio-moral transgression events were used to test the moral emotions and attributions of 30 juvenile offenders on probation with a comparison group of 30 non-offenders. Data were analyzed by chi-square. Differences between juvenile offenders on probation and non-offenders were that juvenile offenders expected victimizers would feel happier and less guilty following such acts of victimization as physical harm, theft, and lying than the comparison group. Non-offenders were more likely than offenders to feel that victims would feel angry and upset. Juvenile offenders gave more variable and less adaptive emotional responses. Offenders provided victimization and emotional distance attributions, but the comparison group provided moral attributions or causal-dependent attributions such as fairness and justice.
