In this paper, we propose Automatic detection system of underground pipe which automatically detects underground pipe to help experts. Actual location of underground pipe does not match with blueprint due to various factors such as ground changes over time, construction discrepancies, etc. So, various accidents occur during excavation or just by ageing. Locating underground utilities is done through GPR exploration to prevent these accidents but there are shortage of experts, because GPR data is enormous and takes long time to analyze. In this paper, To analyze 3D GPR data automatically, we use 3D image segmentation, one of deep learning technique, and propose proper data generation algorithm. We also propose data augmentation technique and pre-processing module that are adequate to GPR data. In experiment results, we found the possibility for pipe analysis using image segmentation through our system recorded the performance of F1 score 40.4%.
Recently, there has been an increasing number of cases of improving constructability by using electronic detonators with precise delay time in tunnel blasting sites. This case is a case of conducting test blasting using with non-electric detonator and electronic detonator at the site of 『Seoul Metropolitan Area Express Railroad Route A Private Investment Project Section 00』 that requires careful management of vibration and noise. Although this site was designed with a non-electric detonator, it was attempted to improve the advance rate and control vibration and noise by mixing the non-electric detonator and the electronic detonator due to the decrease in the advance rate. As a result of the blasting, the target value was achieved with an advance rate of about 85% and a maximum measured value of vibration and noise is 0.215cm/sec and 73.22dB(A) which were measured below regulatory standards. As blasting works in downtown areas, it is necessary to designate measurement and management objects to continuously manage vibration and noise.

In areas where excavation works are carried out, it is very important to select a retaining wall method to minimize ground water level and ground subsidence changes. In this regard, the use of Secant Pile Wall(SPW) method, which can complement the disadvantages of the CIP method, is gradually domestic increasing for the construction of retaining wall method. This study investigated the design elements of the SPW method and the interrelationship between the structural stability factors of the wall. The design elements for the retaining method are the overlap length between piles, pile diameter, and the specifications of the H-Beam specifications, while the structural stability factors of the wall are the bending stress, shear stress, horizontal displacement, and concrete strength. The study results showed that the pile diameter and H-Beam specifications have a significant impact on the capacity of the H-Beam, the overlap length and pile diameter have a significant impact on the horizontal displacement, and the pile diameter and H-Beam specifications have a significant impact on the required strength of the concrete.
C.S.G is a material made by adding cement and water to rock-like material such as riverbed gravel or excavation muck that can be obtained easily near dam si. Recently, the use of C.S.G is gradually increasing as the construction material for dam, road, revement and so on. Commonly, the strength characteristics of C.S.G is affected by various influence factors such as grade, unit cement, age and water contents. In this study, a series of compaction test and unconfined compressive strength test were performed to investigate the relationship between a strength and influence factors such as three kinds of gradation, age, unit cement and water contents with riverbed gravel in Hwa Buk dam. The results show that strength Properties of C.S.G is variously affected by these influence factors. Especially, gradation and water contents are found to be very important factors fur determining the strength of C.S.G material. And, from the results of experimental study, the correlation equations between uncompressive strength and these factors are proposed.

The ground anchor is not usually used in soft clay and loose sand, because the pullout resistance of anchors can not be guaranteed. However, there is a method to increase the capacity of anchors using electric discharge geotechnical technologies, which are also known as pulse discharge and electric-spark technologies. The pulse-discharge anchor has a bulbed (or underreamed) bond length that is expanded by high voltage electrokinetic pulse energy. 24 anchors were installed in the weathered soil and sandy clay at the Geotechnical Experimentation Site at Sungkyunkwan University in Suwon, Korea. In this study, in order to define a relation between expansion rate of the anchor diameter and ultimate load, anchor load tests were carried out in accordance with testing procedures by AASHTO (AASHTO 1990) and FHWA (Weatheb 1998). And then several anchors were exhumed to measure the diameter of the pulse discharge anchors.

The objective of this paper is to provide an approximate cost estimating model for tunnel that can be utilized both in quick construction cost estimating for design alternatives, and in evaluating efficiently the cost effects according to the environmental changes during design and construction stage. To meet this requirement, this study analyzes critical cost factors influencing tunnel construction costs. The cost factors include 7 elements such as rock drilling method, advancing method, type of detonator, loader capacity, unit weight and soil volume change factor, length of tunnel. This paper investigates the cost variance according to the change of the cost factors. The result is expected to be used in formulating approximate tunnel cost estimating model.

When constructing a subsea tunnel in discontinuous rock mass, fluid flow in joints has a great influence on the behavior of the tunnel so that hydro-mechanical coupled analysis should be performed for the stability estimation. In practice, relaxed rock load is generally used for the design of tunnel concrete lining. In a continuum analysis, a method based on the distribution of local safety factor around a tunnel was proposed for the estimation of a potential relaxed zone. However, in the case of discontinuous rock mass in which joints are developed, the whole stability of tunnels depends on the behavior of the joints. In this study, therefore, a method is proposed for the estimation of a potential relaxed zone occurred by the excavation of a tunnel in discontinuous rock mass. The suggested method is validated by sensitivity analysis and the comparison with the results of continuum analysis.
While shield tunneling has demonstrated stability in international cases, the new Austrian tunneling method (NATM) encounters challenges in urban environments with shallow cover, weathered ground, and high groundwater levels. This paper introduces two typical collapse scenarios observed in urban areas, specifically within weathered bedrock and uncemented sandy soil layers. The collapses are analyzed using six stability evaluation methods, and the results are synthesized to assess the excavation face stability through a hexagonal diagram. The study finds a consistent agreement between the analysis results of the two collapsed tunnel sites and the evaluation outcomes. The employment of the stability evaluation diagram, a comprehensive method that considers the ground characteristics of the target tunnel, proves crucial for ensuring barrier stability during the tunnel design stage. This method is essential for a holistic evaluation, especially when addressing challenging ground conditions in urban settings.

The number of railway tunnel design is increasing recently compare to a great number of highway tunnel design which had increased with a lot of highway construction in the 70's and 80's. Therefore, there is more or less difference of time between highway tunnel and railway tunnel. In this paper, numerical analysis on two kinds of tunnels, such as two-forked road highway ventilation tunnel and double track railway tunnel with 4.3m of center line, in cases of with support materials condition and without support materials condition were conducted. Finally, stability of two kinds of tunnels were compared and analyzed through comparing of principal stresses and deviator stresses in the near base rock of tunnels using results of numerical analysis.
When there exists a fault zone ahead of the tunnel face and a tunnel is excavated without perceiving its existence, it will cause stress concentration in the region between the tunnel face and the fault zone because of the influence of the fault zone on the arching phenomena. Because the underground structure has many unreliable factors in the design stage, the prediction of a fault zone ahead of the tunnel face by monitoring plans during tunnel construction and the rapid establishment of appropriate support system are required for more economical and safer tunnel construction. Recent study shows that longitudinal displacement changes during excavation due to the change of rock property, and if longitudinal displacement and settlement, which are measured in the field, are considered together in displacement analysis, the prediction of change in rock mass property is possible. This study provided the method for the prediction of fault zones by analyzing the changes of L/C and (Ll-Lr)/C ratio (L= longitudinal displacement at crown, C = settlement at crown, Ll = longitudinal displacement at left sidewall, Lr = longitudinal displacement at right sidewall) and the stereographic projection of displacement vectors which were obtained from the 3-D numerical analysis of hybrid method in various initial stress conditions.
