This paper attempted to systematize the settlement problem of Moroccan immigrants and the plan for Moroccan cooperation for various purposes by understanding Morocco's religious background and historical and cultural characteristics. Morocco is open to trade and typical in the social and cultural distance. It has been exchanging Western European culture, including Spain and France, but maintains a typical Muslim. In particular, Morocco was once a center of triangular trade, a diaspora and logistics hub, and advanced to North America. It will continue to serve as a bridgehead for the cultural spread of global square-traded. Now, Moroccan trade is formed around France and other European regions. This is encountered in Korea and other countries around the world due to the progress of opening and industrialization in the African region. Since COVID-19, soft power has been increasing women's accessibility. As a global triangular strategic location for business or service financing and regional access to Morocco, we demonstrate the local acceptance of cultural industries and services, the soft power of Korea.

Metaverse is at the center of heated debates in many areas recently. Coupled with real world, metaverse is extending its domain into social and cultural activities in addition to economic value creation as untact activities increase. Global companies are investing in R&D for metaverse. The reason is that metaverse is supposed to create new value by converging virtual and real worlds thanks to technology advancement such as AI, big data, 3D graphic, 5G, cloud computing, etc. Thus, innovative changes are expected in the economic, social and cultural areas. However, there are many problems to be solved yet for connecting virtual world and real one. Also, epoch-making development of products and services should be done for realistic experience and profit creation using virtual space in various industries beyond untact social activities against pandemic situation. The essence, present condition, development and its application areas of metaverse will be analyzed, and expected problems researched so that the strategy and methodology for securing global competitiveness will be addressed in coming metaverse era.

As the number of exchange in various fields between countries increases, the number of international conference increases. Many students study simultaneous interpretation due to the increased demand of simultaneous interpretation. Since simultaneous interpretation requires a lot of learning time, students majoring in translation perform the self learning. The paper based sight translation training system is a representative self learning method, but backtracking decreases the efficiency of self learning and it requires the help of the partner. To improve the learning efficiency, computer based sight translation training system has been proposed. However, since students uses the computer based sight translation training system only in a fixed area due to low mobility of computer, the utilization of the system decreases. In this paper, smart device based sight translation training system has been proposed to increase the utilization of the proposed system. Since smart device has lower computing capabilities than the computer, we have proposed algorithms to deal with the low performance. We implement and evaluate the functionalities of the proposed training system.

As an industry that serves as a greater catalyst for social and cultural exchange than any other industry, the tourism industry has a strong responsibility toward sustainable management in economic, social, and environmental respects. However, there is a low level of awareness for ESG(environmental, social, governance), and as of now, only companies whose parent company is a large corporation are interested in ESG. Moreover, tourism companies taking part in ESG only focus on the environmental field of ESG. Thus, the present study attempted to understand the current status of ESG research in the tourism field and, based on this understanding, offer a field of research urgently in need. Based on the research results, the study found that awareness studies on the type of ESG management that stakeholder groups take into consideration must take place in advance in order to understand and develop ESG for the tourism industry. Additionally, ESG evaluation variables that reflect the characteristics of the tourism industry must be developed. Lastly, strategies and techniques that objectively disclose ESG management activities are necessary based on a disclosure strategy presented by GRI(Global Reporting Initiative).

Given the growing changes in media environment and cultural consumption, globally popular contents of Korean Wave(Hallyu) has also been transformed in its forms and genres. Moreover, extant research on Hallyu has focused on any single respective genre, mostly on East-Asian countries, or studied from Korea-centered perspective. This study examined the social capital effect of Korean Wave in users' own counties, especially in non-English European societies. Survey analysis results reveal that both narrative and non-narrative contents in Hallyu had negative impact on social trust and trust toward people of their own country, whereas positive effect on trust toward Koreans. In contrast, K-pop Hallyu showed positive effect on all types of social trust toward their own country and Koreans, as well as on social participation and bridging/bonding social networks.

The purpose of this study is to identify (1) the attitudes of seniors toward library digitalization, (2) factors that lead them to use digital information in libraries, and (3) factors that hinder or prevent them from using digital information in libraries. As a result of conducting 1:1 in-depth interviews with 20 senior users of the National Library of Korea, the majority of seniors had a favorable attitude toward library digitalization. 'Librarian' and 'vision and font size' were found to be the most important factors for seniors' use of digital information. These two factors are factors that enable the use of digital information, but they are also factors that prevent or hinder the use of digital information. In addition, factors for the use of digital information include 'characteristics of the content' and 'convenience', factors for non-use include 'attitude and psychological factors' and 'physical properties of books', and hindering factors include 'website usability issues'.

As digital video communication technology advances and global interactions become more frequent, cultural barriers between countries are gradually diminishing. Subtitles in TV content reflect the writing systems and cultural contexts of different countries, aiding in the comprehension of program content. However, when comparing subtitles between countries with different writing systems, variations in format and the representation of onomatopoeic expressions become apparent. Therefore, this study focuses on analyzing the differences and peculiarities in the onomatopoeic subtitles of Korean and Chinese variety shows, which are based on distinct writing systems. Through this analysis, the study aims to understand how differences in writing systems influence the representation of onomatopoeic subtitles and viewer experience. This investigation is expected to provide creative inspiration for variety show producers and facilitate cross-cultural communication.

Even after the introduction of Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS), many maritime accidents occur. A method of transmitting a rescue signal when a person falls into the water from a ship is currently being researched and developed in various ways, but no products have been developed that use frequencies allocated for maritime mobile service. Accordingly, in this study, we designed and produced a man-over-board (MOB) device by applying Group B AMRD technologies, which were adopted through the latest revision of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). In addition, a receiver and user interface were built to verify the performance of the transmitter, and we confirmed that it can be used in conjunction with existing electronic charts. This MOB device satisfies the general and technical requirements of Group B AMRD using AIS technology and uses integrated components for miniaturization for easy portability in a maritime environment. We expect that it will achieve excellent AIS communication and be essential in rapid response and safety in emergency scenarios.

The purpose of this study was to confirm the relationship between self-esteem, family strength, and awareness of support for the elderly among college students, and to identify factors that affect awareness of support for the elderly. The participants of the study were 131 college students, and data was collected using a structured questionnaire from March 26 to April 11, 2024. Data analysis was performed using Independent t-test, One way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis. The results of the study showed a positive correlation between self-esteem and family strength (r=.49, p<.001), and between family health and awareness of support for the elderly (r=.30, p<.001). Factors that influence the participant's awareness of support for the elderly are age (β=-.18, p=.029), sibling status (β=.18, p=.027), and family strength (β=.26, p=.002). Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to have college students actively participate in programs related to the elderly so that they can have a positive attitude toward the elderly and establish correct values through continuous interaction with the elderly.

In recent years, international migration of professional workers is significantly increasing as globalization has been deepened more and more. South Korea is not an exception for this case. Immigration of professional workers have steadily increased since 2000 in Korea, and the number reached approximately to 50,000 in 2009. In addition, it is a major trend that immigrants of short-sojourn are decreasing and ones of long-sojourn increasing. Our research shows that foreign language instructor has the greatest number of foreign professional immigrants. The next is professional immigrants related to business-activities. There are considerably entertainers, but they have greatly decreased since 2003. Majority of foreign professional immigrants settle down in a few metropolises. Especially, they reside in Seoul Metropolitan Area and Southeast coastal region. Professional immigrants trend to do with Korean on the base of their offices rather than residental communities in terms of adaptation, and they do not have strong will to reside permanently in Korea. Moreover, they are located at a blind spot of Korean government's foreign immigrant policy, comparing to foreign workers and female marriage immigrants.
