A Study of Extending for Simulation Model based on HLA (HLA 기반의 시뮬레이션 모형 개발 및 확장 연구)

  • 최근 모델링 및 시뮬레이션(M&S) 체계 구축 관련 기술들이 미 국방부를 중심으로 활발히 연구됨은 물론 민간 사업으로 확산되는 등 그 소요가 급속히 증가하고 있다. 또한 기존의 모형 및 개발 모형들도 차세대 연동 체계인 RTI(Run_Time Infrastructure)를 모형에 적용함으로써 HLA(High Level Architecture)를 포함한 차세대 M&S 체계의 핵심 기술을 조기에 획득하여 이를 개발하고 운용하는 능력을 확보하는 것이 시급히 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 첨단 정보 기술의 결집체인 HLA 의 핵심 기술을 이용한 HLA 시뮬레이션 방법을 제시하였으며, HLA가 보장하는 상호 운용성과 재사용성을 모형 확장을 통해 확인하였다.

Comparisons of Experimental Designs and Modeling Approaches for Constructing War-game Meta-models (워게임 메타모델 수립을 위한 실험계획 및 모델링 방법에 관한 비교 연구)

  • Computer simulation models are in general quite complex and time-consuming to run, and therefore, a simpler meta-model is usually constructed for further analysis. In this paper, JANUS, a war-game simulator, is used to describe a certain tank combat situation. Then, second-order response surface and artificial neural network meta-models are developed using the data from eight different experimental designs. Relative performances of the developed meta-models are compared in terms of the mean squared error of prediction. Computational results indicate that, for the given problem, the second-order response surface meta-model generally performs better than the neural network, and the orthogonal array-based Latin hypercube design(LHD) or LHD using maximin distance criterion may be recommended.

  • A LIDAR can rapidly generate 3D points by densely sampling the surfaces of targets using laser pulses, which has been efficiently utilized to reconstruct 3D models of the targets automatically. Due to this advantage, LIDARs are increasingly applied to the fields of Defense and Security, for examples, being employed to intelligently guided missiles and manned/unmanned reconnaissance planes. For the prior verification of the LIDAR applicability, this study aims at generating simulated LIDAR data. Here, we derived the sensor equation by modelling the geometric relationships between the LIDAR sub-modules, such as GPS, IMU, LS and the systematic errors associated with them. Based on this equation, we developed a program to generate simulated data with the system parameters, the systematic errors, the flight trajectories and attitudes, and the reference terrain model given. This program had been applied to generating simulated LIDAR data for urban areas. By analyzing these simulated data, we verified the accuracy and usefulness of the simulation. The simulator developed in this study will provide economically various test data required for the development of application algorithms and contribute to the optimal establishment of the flight and system parameters.

  • Recently, as weapon systems have been more diverse and complicated, the factors of risk increase in development. Consequently, demanding reduction of acquired costs and period increase. Under the acquisition environment, more efficiently to develop weapon system, the necessity of application of defense M&S from requirement phase is on the rise. As the importance of M&S is stressed under distributed environment, so the standard of M&S(HLA, SEDRIS, etc.) and the system engineering process, namely FEDEP(Federation Development & Execution Process) have been developed. In this paper using the 5 phase expression, we constructed underwater engagement simulation(UNES) that prototype to develop naval weapon system test bed which take up integrated architecture in HLA. we developed simulators according to FEDEP for expandability and described process applying FEDEP fur UNES development.

  • M&S 기반의 가상환경 설계운영은 자원절약 및 위험성 감소 등 다양한 측면에서 효율성을 지니고 있다. 국방은 현실세계에서 실시하기 어려운 군사작전 시뮬레이션 운영을 위해 국방 M&S 개념을 도입하고, 이를 기반으로 무기체계의 소요도출부터 전력화 단계까지 프로세스 전반에 걸쳐 가상 환경에서의 설계 운영 및 검증을 수행하는 SBA 를 도입하였다. 그러나 모델링 및 시뮬레이션 과정에서 발생되는 고비용, 위험성 등의 문제점은 SBA 도입 효율성에 대한 논란의 요인이 된다. 따라서 SBA 도입 효과를 입증할 수 있는 지표 제시가 요구되며, 이 연구에서는 입증 지표로서 비용, 시간, 품질 및 위험도의 4 가지 요소를 분석한다. 또한 소프트웨어 개발비용 산정의 어려움 및 SBA의 고비용 가능성을 이유로 SBA 에 대한 개발비용 산정의 필요성을 제기한다. SBA 개발비용 산정을 위해 기존에 제시된 소프트웨어 개발비용 산정 모델 적용을 제안하고, COCOMO 모델, Putnam 모델, FP모델, 전문가의 감정 및 델파이 기법 등 소프트웨어 개발비용 산정모델을 기반으로 SBA 개발비용 산정에 적합한 모델을 분석한다.

  • This paper deals with modelling and introducing of the project portfolio construction and evaluation problem under uncertainty. The common way in industry of managing project portfolio is construction of initial portfolio considering uncertainties which exist inside and outside of portfolio, and periodic revision of portfolio due to the deviation from plans. In this paper, we introduce algorithm which reflecting the industrial common practice of initial planning and periodic revision. With this simulation method, probabilistic distribution of portfolio's performance in consideration can be found.

  • Korean defense specifications are the technical criteria of military products and major factor of acquisition system. Weapon systems and acquisition technique have been advanced dramatically after 1990's, but Korean defense specification practice standard has stayed after early 1980's except embedded software. The current status of current Korean defense specification practice standard and trend of related design and acquisition techniques like M&S, SBA, and digital manufacturing have been reviewed. This paper suggests that transfer to product, IT oriented specification structure, adaptation of digital product model and reinforcement of engineering management systems to establish a development initiative of Korean defense specification practice standard.

  • HLA is the IEEE 1516 standard for the interoperation among heterogeneous simulations and RTI is a technology which provides a lower infrastructure service to interoperation. In this paper, we propose a Object-Oriented federate model architecture to enhance code reusability. It improves an efficiency of the system development process, and results in development time reduction and cost saving. It also is verified its practical effect through acting HLA certification on an software developed proposed architecture.

  • This paper deals with the development of an expert system modeling by constructing a knowledge-based system of the dive recovery for anticrash on the ground or sea during the task of fighter aircraft. In an IBM PC / XT computer, a prototype dive recovery expert system is constructed using mu LISP-86 programming language, and is interconnected to the SAM SUNG RM-501 robot arm to test and simulate this model. The knowledge base of this model is composed of the dive recovery charts and the V-N envelope charts of F-4 D Phantom fighter aircraft. It is shown that the prototype expert system woks well and the feasibility of practical realization is valid.

  • Top-down approach in the intelligent robot research has focused on the single object intelligence however, it has two weaknesses. One is that has a high cost and a long spending time of sensing, calculating and communications. The other is the difficulty of responding to react changes in the unpredictable environment. we propose the collective intelligence algorithm based on Bottom-up approach for improving these weaknesses and the applied agent model and verify by simulation. The Modified Flocking Algorithm proposed in this research is the algorithm which is modified version of the concept of the Flocking (Craig Reynolds) which is used to model the flocks, herds, and schools in the graphics or games, and simplified the operation of conventional Flocking algorithm to make it easy to apply for the number of group robots. We modeled the Boid agent and verified possibility collectivization of the Modified Flocking Algorithm by simulation. And We validated by the actual multiple mobile robot experiment.
