Stay cable is easily exposed to vibration induced rainy wind effects. There are some problems for not only unexpected vibration but also well-known vibration. An outbreak of displacement by the said effects brings damages such as over-tension of cables and barriers, fatigue of anchorages and dampers, and additional shear force variation of stiffening girders. This study suggests analytic methodology for dynamic tension variation of cables and shear force variation of stiffening girders. Additionally this study announces with dynamic problems for cable stayed bridge briefly. To realize this subject, we divide restoring force into chord component and normal component and then make up the differential equations which can satisfy physical phenomenon for each component. Finally we apply adequate functions such as sinusoidal and parabola in order to reduce these differential equations. Therefore we can meet with good results through a series of above process. As a remarkable result, CIP recommendations (2002) give inadequate solution with over 10% error. However it gives very good solution if parts of our study are reflected at the said recommendations. The fact means that CIP recommendations (2002) well-known as international standard of stay cables are not even concern about this subject yet. For verification of this study, F.E. analysis using E.C.C. with external forces was fulfilled, and the accuracy and conciseness of this study were shown.
Bolus is used in radiation therapy to prescribe an even dose to the tumor when the skin surface is inclined or has irregularities. At this time, the dose to the skin surface increases. Due to the patient's unique body structure and irregular skin, voids may occur between the bolus and the skin, which may reduce the accuracy of treatment. Therefore, in this study, the existing bolus and the self-produced bolus through 3D printing were applied to the nasal area, and the difference between the surface dose after treatment plan and the dose directly measured with an Optically Stimulated luminescence(OSL) dosimeter was compared to the existing bolus. The bolus rate was 97%, PLA 100.33%, ePETELA 75A 100.53%, and ePETELA 85A 100.36%. It was confirmed that there was little error in the measurement values and treatment plan values for each material. In addition, compared to when applying a conventional bolus, a difference of -3% to +0.5% for a 3D printed bolus can be confirmed, so a customized bolus produced through 3D printing can complement the shortcomings of the existing bolus. It is believed that there will be.
When constructing on soft ground, managing ground settlement and safety is crucial. However, there often exists a significant disparity between the actual behavior of the ground and the design plans. In this study, we aimed to compare and analyze the difference between the predicted settlement based on theoretical formulas and the measured settlement during construction, in order to predict settlement. For this purpose, we analyzed settlement data from 18 construction sites. The results indicated that the back analysis settlement values were similar to the measured settlement values, whereas the design settlement values were significantly higher compared to the measured settlement values. Specifically, the design settlement values were 1.2 to 1.4 times higher than those derived from back analysis using measured values. The RMSE analysis revealed a value of 0.6212m for the design settlement and 0.1697m for the back analysis settlement. The difference between the back analysis settlement and the measured settlement was more than 70% lower than the difference between the design settlement and the measured settlement. This indicates that the back analysis settlement values exhibit lower error rates compared to the design settlement values.
In waveguide structures, waves may be partially reflected by local non-uniformities. The effects of local non-uniformities has been previously investigated by means of a combined spectral element and finite element (SE/FE) method at relatively low frequencies. However, since the SE is formulated based on a beam theory, the SE/FE method is not appropriated for analysis at higher frequencies where complex deformation of the waveguide occurs. So it is necessary to extend this approach for high frequencies. For the wave propagation at higher frequencies, a combined spectral super element and finite element (SSE/FE) method is introduced in this paper. As an example of the application of this method, wave reflection and transmission due to a local defect in a rail are simulated at frequencies between 20kHz and 30kHz. Also numerical errors are evaluated by means of the conservation of the incident power.

Items of road tunnel PISD (Precise Inspection for Safety and Diagnosis) were reviewed and analyzed using newly enhanced MMS (Mobile Mapping System) technology. Possible items with MMS can be visual inspection, survey and non-destructive test, structural analysis, and maintenance plan. The resolution of 3D point cloud decreased when the vehicle speed of MMS is too fast while the calibration error increased when it is too slow. The speed measurement of 50 km/h is determined to be effective in this study. Although image resolution by MMS has a limit to evaluating the width of crack with high precision, it can be used as data to identify the status of facilities in the tunnel and determine whether they meet disaster prevention management code of tunnel. 3D point cloud with MMS can be applicable for matching of cross-section and also possible for the variation of longitudinal survey, which can intuitively check vehicle clearance throughout the road tunnel. Compared with the measurement of current PISD, number of test and location of survey is randomly sampled, the continuous measurement with MMS for environment condition can be effective and meaningful for precise estimation in various analysis.

Predicting water quality of rivers and reservoirs is necessary for the management of water resources. Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) have been used in many studies to predict water quality with high accuracy. Previous studies have used Gradient Descent (GD)-based optimizers as an optimizer, an operator of ANN that searches parameters. However, GD-based optimizers have the disadvantages of the possibility of local optimal convergence and absence of a solution storage and comparison structure. This study developed improved optimizers to overcome the disadvantages of GD-based optimizers. Proposed optimizers are optimizers that combine adaptive moments (Adam) and Nesterov-accelerated adaptive moments (Nadam), which have low learning errors among GD-based optimizers, with Harmony Search (HS) or Novel Self-adaptive Harmony Search (NSHS). To evaluate the performance of Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) using improved optimizers, the water quality data from the Dasan water quality monitoring station were used for training and prediction. Comparing the learning results, Mean Squared Error (MSE) of LSTM using Nadam combined with NSHS (NadamNSHS) was the lowest at 0.002921. In addition, the prediction rankings according to MSE and R2 for the four water quality indices for each optimizer were compared. Comparing the average of ranking for each optimizer, it was confirmed that LSTM using NadamNSHS was the highest at 2.25.
Research into optical signal processing using photonic integrated circuits (PICs) has been actively pursued in various fields, including optical communication, optical sensors, and quantum optics. Among the materials used in PIC fabrication, polymers have attracted significant interest due to their unique characteristics. To fabricate polymer-based PICs, establishing an accurate manufacturing process for the cross-sectional structure of an optical waveguide is crucial. For stable device performance and high yield in mass production, a process with high reproducibility and a wide tolerance for variation is necessary. This study proposes an efficient method for fabricating polymer optical-waveguide devices by introducing the atomic layer deposition (ALD) process. Compared to conventional photoresist or metal-film deposition methods, the ALD process enables more precise fabrication of the optical waveguide's core structure. Polyimide optical waveguides with a core size of 1.8 × 1.6 ㎛2 are fabricated using the ALD process, and their propagation losses are measured. Additionally, a multimode interference (MMI) optical-waveguide power-splitter device is fabricated and characterized. Throughout the fabrication, no cracking issues are observed in the etching-mask layer, the vertical profiles of the waveguide patterns are excellent, and the propagation loss is below 1.5 dB/cm. These results confirm that the ALD process is a suitable method for the mass production of high-quality polymer photonic devices.

In this paper, we design and verify a system that can detect piping leakage noise in an environment with significant reverberation and reflection using a multi-channel acoustic sensor module as a technology to prevent major plant accidents caused by leakage. Four-channel microphones arranged in a tetrahedron are designed as a single sensor module to measure three-dimensional sound intensity vectors. In an environment with large effects of reverberation and reflection, the measurement error of each sensor module increases on average, so after placing multiple sensor modules in the field, measurement results showing locations with large errors due to effects such as reflection are excluded. Using the intersection between three-dimensional vectors obtained from several pairs of sensor modules, the coordinates where the sound source is located are estimated, and outliers (e.g., positions estimated to be outside the site, positions estimated to be far from the average position) are detected and excluded among the points. For achieving aforementioned goal, an excluding algorithm by deciding the outliers among the estimated positions was proposed. By visualizing the estimated location coordinates of the leakage sound on the site drawing within 1 second, we construct and verify a system that can detect the location of the leakage sound in real time and enable immediate response. This study is expected to contribute to improving accident response capabilities and ensuring safety in large plants.

저어콘의 연대측정은 서호주의 커튼공업대학교에 설치되어 있는 SHRIMP-II(Sensitive High-Resolution Ion Microprobe-II; 고감도-고분해능 이온현미분석기)를 사용하였으며, 시료 준비 및 분석방법은 기존에 보고된 바와 같다 (e.g., Kinny et al., 1999).

Recently, two international standard organizations, ISO and OGC, have done the work of standardization for GIS. Current standardization work for providing interoperability among GIS DB focuses on the design of open interfaces. But, this work has not considered procedures and methods for designing GIS DB. Eventually, GIS DB has its own model. When we share the data by open interface among heterogeneous GIS DB, differences between models result in the loss of information. Our aim in this paper is to revise the design guidelines for geographic information databases in order to make consistent spatial data models, logical structures, and semantic structure of populated geographical databases. In details, we propose standard guidelines which convert ISO abstract schema into relation model, object-relation model, object-centered model, and geometry-centered model. Furthermore, we provide sample models for applying these guidelines in commercial GIS S/Ws. Building GIS DB based on design guidelines proposed in the paper has the following advantages: the interoperability among databases, the standardization of schema definitions, and the catalogue of GIS databases through.
