Nonlinear Analysis considered Confinement Effect of Precast Concrete Segment (프리캐스트 콘크리트 세그먼트의 구속효과를 고려한 비선형 해석)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose the confinement effectiveness of precast segmental concrete that binding by lateral confining steel in the method of precast segmental concrete pridge piers construction. Generally, the confinement effect of concrete that binding by lateral confining steel is defined by the confinement effectiveness coefficient and the confinement effectiveness coefficient is defined as the ratio of area of effectively confined concrete core to area of confined concrete core. The area of effectively confined concrete core is defined by Arching action occurred on a space of lateral confinement steel and The area of confined concrete core is defined by the ratio of area of longitudinal reinforcement to area of core of section. But in case of precast segmental concrete, concrete cover that exist on top and bottom of concrete segment should be considered.

A Study on Optimum Confined Effect for Internally Confined Hollow CFT Columns under Uniaxial Compression (일축압축을 받는 내부 구속 중공 CFT 기둥의 최적 구속 효과 연구)

  • Recently, study of confining effect in column members is progressed. But these studies are limited to about RC column and external confining effect in hollow columns. Internal confining effect in hollow columns has not researched. Internal confining stress is assumed the same external confining stress in hollow columns. In this study, there are to investigate the internal direction confining effect in ICH CFT column by FEA analysis. FEA analysis methods have verified by experimental values. Parametric study has performed as thickness of internal tube, hollow ratio, diameter of column and bending stiffness between concrete and external tube. Modified equations have suggested to estimating economic and reasonable thickness of internal tube.

  • 횡방향으로 구속된 콘크리트의 응력-변형률 거동은 구속되지 않은 콘크리트와는 다른 거동을 한다. 보통강도 콘크리트에서 구속효과를 고려한 콘크리트 재료모델로는 Mander 모델이 대표적이며 고강도 콘크리트의 구속효과의 경우 여러 연구자들에 의하여 제안된 모델 중 공시체 수준의 실험결과와 잘 일치하는 Sakino-Sun 모델을 사용하였다. 보통강도에서는 Mander모델을 고강도 콘크리트에서는 Sakino-Sun 모델을 사용하였으나 중간 강도인 30-40MPa의 강도에서 Mander 모델과 Sakino-Sun 모델의 적용시 실험결과와 해석결과가 다소 차이를 보이며 또한 두 모델은 적용할 수 있는 최대 또는 최소 콘크리트 압축강도의 한계범위가 명확하지 않다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 30-40MPa의 강도의 횡방향으로 구속된 콘크리트의 비선형 재료모델을 제안하고 실제 30-40MPa의 압축강도를 갖는 콘크리트 공시체의 일축압축시험 결과와의 비교를 통해 그 적용성을 검토하였다.

Confinement Effect of Reinforced Concrete Members Using a Parabola-Rectangular Compressive Stress-Strain Relationship (포물선-직선 압축응력-변형률 관계를 이용한 철근콘크리트 부재의 횡구속 효과)

  • In general, RC columns are reinforced by spiral or tied steel and a strength of confined concrete is more increased than this of unconfined concrete. And strength and ductility of column are increased by a confinement effect. A confinement effect is affected by concrete strength, spacing, volume and strength of confinement steel. Many researchers suggested various confinement models which reflected these parameters by many experimental results. In this study, a load-strain relationship is evaluated by a confinement model in EC2, and it is compared with Mander model, Saatchioglu-Razvi model and Cusson et al. model. As results, it is appeared that a confinement model in EC2 is able to apply all kinds of concrete strength and a consistency in sectional analysis can be secured using material models in EC2. In parameter studies using material models in EC2, a confinement effect is more affected by a confinement steel than a concrete strength.

  • In this study, strength, stiffness and confinement effect with stress-strain and stress-volumetric strain curves for improved uniaxial compressive behavior of RC circular columns laterally confined with prestressing aramid fiber strap were experimentally investigated. The test variables were the specimens with or without axial reinforcing bar and the number and spacing of strap, prestressing level, the types of reinforcing fiber (CFS, GFS). As a result, the failure type of the columns was very stable and strength increase rate was about 73% comparison with the general RC columns. Moreover, the strain increase rate is very small and the axial displacement confinement effect was very effective compared with existry methods (CFS, GFS), the initial and final lateral confinement effect was excellent.

Assessment of Confining Effect of Steel and GFRP Jackets for Concrete (콘크리트 보강강판 및 GFRP 튜브의 구속효과 분석 및 평가)

  • In this study, the confining effect of the proposed steel jackets and GFRP tubes for concrete was investigated. The new steel jacket differs from the existing steel jacket in terms of installation technique and behavior. Thus, it is necessary to assess its confining effect on concrete. Moreover, the method was compared to GFRP tubes to investigate its strong and weak points. The confining effect of the proposed steel jacket was shown to correspond with that presented in the previous researches. The GFRP jacketing method, however, does not show any confining effect in some cases, according to the tube thickness and concrete peak strength as such, the previous assessment equation cannot be used in such cases. Thus, in this study, a new method of assessing the peak strength of confined concrete was suggested, and the minimum thickness was determined to show the confining effect. Lastly, the ultimate strains of concrete that had been confined through the two methods were compared to assess their ductile behavior.

Proposal of the Theoretical Equation of Structural Foundation Resting on Harden Cement Milk (시멘트밀크 고결체 위에 안치된 구조물기초의 이론적인 지지력 공식 제안)

  • 시멘트밀크(저압이나 고압에 의한 선단확근말뚝공법)나 쏘일시멘트(SIP말뚝공법) 위에 안치된 말뚝기초의 선단지지력과 확대기초를 지지하는 시멘트밀크 고결체 기둥 기초의 연직지지력 공식을 알아보기 위하여 총 14개의 시험체에 대하여 정재하시험 및 하중전이시험을 실시하였다. 그 결과에 의하면, 고결체 주변지반의 구속효과가 없는 8개의 시험체는 말뚝선단보강형태와는 무관하게 말뚝선단 아래의 시멘트밀크 고결체의 강도와 면적이 클수록 크게 나타났으며, 평균구속계수는 자유표면의 영향으로 1 보다 적은 0.43(D+1)이었다. 그리고 고결체 주변지반의 구속효과를 받는 6가지 지반조건에서 설치된 말뚝의 구속계수는 말뚝선단 아래 시멘트밀크 고결체를 주변지반의 구속효과로 1 보다 큰 평균 2.1의 값을 나타내었다. 그리고 지반의 구속효과를 고려한 말뚝기초와 직접기초 아래에 설치된 시멘트밀크 고결체의 이론적인 (선단)지지력 공식을 제안하였다.

  • 횡방향철근에 의하여 적절히 구속된 콘크리트 기둥은 강도증가 및 연성의 확보면에서 유리하다. 본 연구의 목적은 횡방향철근에 의하여 구속된 코아콘크리트의 크기,횡방향철근의 간격비 및 체적철근비 등의 변화에 따른 콘크리트 기둥의 극한강도를 포함한 최대하중 이전의 거동 및 최대하중 이후의 거동을 실험적, 해석적으로 고찰함으로써 콘크리트 기둥의 구속효과정도를 규명하려는데 있다. 본 연구에서는 횡구속된 콘크리트 기둥모형의 압축재하실험을 수행하였으며, 최대하중 이전의 거동에 대하여 연속체적 파괴와 소성을 고려한 3차원 모델링을 통한유한요소해석을 실시하였다. 또한 횡구속된 콘크리트 기둥의 변형률국소화 모델에 의한 파괴해석을 통하여 구속된 콘크리트 기둥의 최대하중 이후의 거동을 재현하였다. 해석결과는 압축재하실험의 결과와 비교, 분석되었으며, 이에 따른 구속효과를 규명하였다.

  • The squash strength and design strength are smaller than the experimental strength of square shaped concrete-filled steel tubular columns in a short concentrically loaded column. This study presents an evaluation procedure accounting for the confining effect of concrete. For the purpose of evaluating a confining effect of concrete, the 3D finite element method was used. The influence of parameters, width-thickness ratios, strength of the concrete and the yield strength of the steel, were examined. The suggested evaluation procedure that assembled three parameters was compared with previous experimental results. Also, the tendency of the confining effect of concrete was examined in the three types of load application.

  • When concrete is confined, its strength is enhanced by confining stress. Thus, increasing confining stress makes concrete strength higher. But a brittle failure may occur in hollow RC(Reinforced Concrete) column although its concrete is confined by transverse reinforcements. This brittle failure results from the absence of internal confinement and it decreases the strength and the ductility of a hollow RC column. To overcome this brittle failure problem, a hollow RC column which has a internal steel tube was developed. In this study, an experiment was performed to investigate the existence of to internal confinement by a settled steel tube. Thirty six specimens were tested and test results show the existence of internal confinement by the increase of concrete strength.
