An Experimental Study on the Mechanical Properties and Long-Term Deformations of High-Strength Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (고강도 강섬유보강 콘크리트의 역학적 특성 및 장기변형 특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This study presents basic information on the mechanical properties and long-term deformations of high-strength steel fiber reinforced concrete(HSFRC). The Influence of steel fiber on modulus of elasticity, compressive, splitting tensile and flexural strength, and drying shrinkage and creep of HSFRC are investigated, and flexural fracture toughness is evaluated. Test results show that Test results show that the effect of steel fibers on the compressive strength is negligible, and the modulus of elasticity of HSFRC increased with the increase of fiber volume fraction. And the effect of fiber volume fraction($V_f$) and aspect ratio($l_f/d_f$) on tensile strength, flexural strength and toughness is extremely prominent. It is observed that the flexural deflection corresponded to ultimate load increased with the increase of $V_f$ and $l_f/d_f$, and due to fiber arresting cracking, the shape of the descending branch of load-deflection tends towards gently. Also, the effect of addition of various amounts of fiber on the creep and shrinkage is obvious. Especially, the effect of adding fibers to high-strength concrete is more pronounced in reducing the drying shrinkage than the creep.

  • 한국건설기술연구원내에 세계 최초로 UHPC(초고성능 콘크리트)를 활용한 보도사장교를 설계 및 시공하여 공용중이다. 초고성능 콘크리트(UHPC, Ultra High Performance Concrete)는 기존의 콘크리트의 단점을 극복하기 위하여 강섬유 및 혼화재료를 사용하여 고강도화와 더불어 인장강도, 휨강도, 균열에 대한 저항성, 전단강도 및 내충격성을 대폭 개선시켜서 구조부재의 연성 및 강도를 확보하기 위해 개발된 것으로서 한국건설기술연구원이 독자적 연구를 바탕으로 UHPC를 개발하였고, KICT-UHPC의 특성을 충분히 반영한 보도사장교를 한국건설기술원내에 실구조물로 시공하였다. 한국건설기술연구원내 본관 1, 2동 연결 보도사장교(SUPER BRIDGE 1)의 진동실험을 통해 UHPC 보도사장교의 동특성(고유진동수 및 모드형상)을 평가하였다. 대상교량에는 보도사장교의 캔틸레버 구조 특성에 의해 발생하는 진동을 제어하기 위한 질량 264kg의 난간형 수직진동제어장치(TMD) 4대가 설치되어 있으며, 부가질량의 운동을 기계적으로 구속하거나 구속을 해제하여 TMD의 작동을 켜거나 끌 수 있도록 되어있다. TMD의 가동 및 정지시 동특성을 비교하는 정밀한 검증 실험을 통하여 TMD 설치에 의한 동특성의 변화도 평가하였다. 가진망치에 의한 충격실험으로부터 획득한 가속도 시간이력 데이터와 가진망치의 가진력 시간이력 데이터를 사용하여 주파수응답함수(FRF, frequency response function)를 계산하고, 이로부터 Super Bridge I의 동적모드형상과 고유진동수를 추출하였다. 1차 모드의 고유진동수는 TMD 정지시 2.2949 Hz, TMD 작동시 2.0996 Hz로서 8%정도 감소하였다. 충격해머에 의한 가진 실험을 통해 세계 최초로 시공한 UHPC 보도사장교의 진동특성과 관련한 신뢰성 있는 자료를 확보할 수 있었다.

Properties of the Super Flowing Concrete Using Crushed Stone Fines (쇄석분을 사용한 초유동콘크리트의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • 초유동콘크리트는 유동성 증진 및 충전성 향상을 위해 단위분체량을 크게하기 때문에 콘크리트의 고강도화와 수화발열량을 증가시키는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 초유동콘크리트의 강도조절과 수화열 저감을 위해 쇄석분을 이용하여 초유동콘크리트의 강도, 유동성, 내구성능 및 건조수축 특성을 검토하였다. 실험결과 쇄석분은 치환율 10% 증가시마다 무치환시의 압축강도를 약 10~15%씩 감소시키며, 변형계수와 물구속비를 감소시켜 초유동콘크리트의 유동성 향상에 효과적이다. 또한 초유동콘크리트에서 쇄석분 10%치환시 마다 단위시멘트량 감소에 따른 최고 단열온도상승량을 약 4$^{\circ}C$씩 감소시켰다. 반면 건조수축량은 10%치환시 마다 약 5%증가시켰다. 한편 초유동콘크리트의 내구성능은 단위분체량과 유동성향상에 따른 조직의 치밀화로 쇄석분 치환에 관계없이 상대동탄성계수 90%이상으로 우수하게 나타났다. 이와 같이 분체로서 쇄석분 사용은 치환량에 따른 초유동콘크리트의 강도조절이 가능하며 수화발열량을 저감시킬 수 있다. ^ x Super flowing concrete causes high strength and the increase of heat of hydration because of the big unit powder content of concrete to increase flowability and to improve compact of concrete. Therefore, this study investigates the characteristic properties of strength, flowability, durability and drying shrinkage to control strength and to reduce heat of hydration of super flowing concrete using crushed stone fines. According to the experimental results, when crushed stone fines are increased every 10%, 10~15% of compressive strength is decreased and flowability of super flowing concrete is effectively improved due to the decrease of modulus of deformation and confined water ratio. When crushed stone fines are replaced every 10%, 4$^{\circ}C$ of the highest adiabatic temperature rise is decreased by reducing the unit cement. However, 5% of drying shrinkage is increased in the same condition. In the meantime, durability of super flowing concrete is excellent, having over 90 % of good relative dynamic modulus of elasticity due to fineness of formation caused by the increase of the unit powder content and the improvement of flowability, without regard to the replacement of crushed stone fines. Therefore, it can be said that the usage of crushed stone fines can control the strength of super flowing concrete by replacement and reduce heat of hydration.

Analytical Study on Seismic Performance Assesment of Reinforced Concrete Shear Wall using High-Strength Reinforcing Bar (고강도 철근을 적용한 철근콘크리트 전단벽체의 내진성능평가를 위한 해석적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to establish a reasonable analytical method for the estimation of overall behavior characteristic from cracking to yielding of rebar and crushing of concrete and seismic performance of reinforced concrete shear wall with high-strength reinforcing bar. A total of 8 specimens of reinforced concrete walls which have constant aspect ratio and a variety of variables such as reinforcement ratio, reinforcement yielding strength, reinforcement details, concrete design strength, section shape and whether lateral restraint hoop were selected and the analysis was performed by using a non-linear finite element analysis program (RCAHEST) applying the proposed constitutive equation by the authors. The mean and coefficient of variation for maximum load from the experiment and analysis results was predicted 1.04 and 8%. The mean and coefficient of variation for displacement corresponding maximum load from the experiment and analysis results was predicted 1.17 and 19% respectively. The analytical results were predicted relatively well the fracture mode and the overall behavior until fracture for all specimens. These results are expected to be used as basic data for application of high-strength reinforcing bar to design codes in the future.

Shrinkage Properties of High Performance Concrete Depending on Specimen Size and Constraint of Reinforcing Bar (공시체 크기 변화 및 철근구속에 따른 고성능콘크리트의 수축 특성)

  • This paper reports the test results for shrinkage properties of low shrinkage high performance concrete developed by the authors depending on specimen size and constraint of reinforcing bar. As properties in fresh concrete low shrinkage high performance concrete(LSHPC) combined with expansive additives and shrinkage reducing admixture resulted in increase SP dosage due to loss of fluidity compared with that of control mixture concrete, while the dosage of AE agent was decreased. LSHPC exhibited higher compressive and tensile strength than control mixture concrete. For the effect of specimen size, an increase in specimen size led to a reduction of drying shrinkage. However, it was found that the autogenous shrinkage was not affected by the specimen size and measuring method. For constraint condition, an increase in the ratio of reinforcing bar caused the slight reduction in the strain of reinforcing bar, while it increased the autogenous shrinkage stress. It was seen that LSHPC was effective to reduce autogenous shrinkage by as much as 70% compared with control mixture high performance concrete.

  • In this paper, to seek a solution of reducing autogenous shrinkage three types of bar restricted concrete specimens which have similar compressive strength were tested. The three type of concrete were plain concrete-P25 type, $10^{\circ}C$ fly-ash replaced concrete-F10 type, and $1^{\circ}C$ expansion admixture replaced concrete-SP1 type, and with the test result an experimental study was conducted to gain the tensile stress of concrete. From the result of P25, SP1, F10 tests, it was found that by the age of 14 the ratios of tensile stress to tensile strength of three specimens are $75^{\circ}C$, $47^{\circ}C$, $52^{\circ}C$ respectively. so we came to a conclusion that the SP1-type concrete has better capacity to reduce autogenous shrinkage than F10-type concrete at similar compressive strength condition.

  • Experimental and analytical study were conducted to develop the confined model of reinforced high strength concrete tied columns subjected to monotonically increasing concentric axial compression. Twenty-one large-scale columns(260$\times$260$\times$1200mm) used high strength concrete of 50 and 85MPa were fabricated to simulate an actual structural members size. Test results indicated that gains of strength and ductility of high strength concrete columns could be increased, if efficient arrangements and volumetric ratios of transverse reinforcements were provided. The proposed model satisfactorily predicted the experimental stress-strain curves for high strength concrete up to 100MPa.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate on the measurement of stress due to autogenous shrinkage of high strength concrete according to the W/C ratio at early age. The main parameters are as follows W/C ratio is 25, 30, 40%. The size of specimen is 10$\times$10$\times$150cm and the autogenous shrinkage strain is measured by the bonded strain gauge at the inside of the specimens. From the test, it is suggested that the autogenous shrinkage stress increased as W/C ratio decreased.

  • The purpose of this study is to experimentally investigate the strength and ductility of reinforced high strength concrete columns under uniaxial load and several test variables. To do this, we have conducted tests on thirteen 20$\times$20$\times$60cm specimens with 8 and 12 longitudinal steel bars subjected to monotonic uniaxial compression. The main variables considered in this test are the configuration of ties, the space the ties, the diameter of ties and yield strength of ties. The results indicate that the strength and the ductility of reinforced high strength concrete columns have been influenced on these variables except yield strength of ties. Judging from test results, real stress of ties at peak concrete stress is suitable variable than yield strength of ties for estimation of the strength gain factor(Ks).

Compression Test for Prefabricated Composite Columns Using High-Strength Steel Angles (고강도 앵글을 적용한 선조립 합성기둥의 압축 실험)

  • In this study, prefabricated composite columns using high-strength angles (PSRC composite column) was studied. Concentric axial loading tests were performed for 2/3 scale PSRC specimens and an conventional SRC specimen with H-steel at the center of the cross-section. The test parameters were the steel ratio of angles and the spacing of lateral re-bars. The test results showed that by placing the angles at the corners of the cross-section for confinement with provided for the core concrete, the PSRC column specimens exhibited greater load-carrying capacity and deformation capacity than those of the conventional SRC column. The axial load-carrying capacity of the PSRC columns was greater than the prediction by KBC 2009. Using existing stress-strain relationship of confined concrete, the axial load-deformation relationship of the specimens were predicted. The numerical predictions correlated well with the test results in terms of initial stiffness, load-carrying capacity, and post-peak strength- and stiffness-degradations.
