A System for Change Management of Sensor Network Applications based on Version Synchronization (버전동기화 기반의 센서 네트워크 응용 소프트웨어 변경 관리 시스템의 구축 사례)

  • This paper proposes a change management system of sensor network applications based on version synchronization that supports to effectively manage defect correction of applications, change of functions for applications or improvement of applications without suspending the sensor network. The proposed change management system consists of the NADE which is an application development environment, the Node Management Server, and the Node Agent. NADE is an Eclipse-based development environment for developing applications which are installed into nodes. NADE is also connected with CVSNT which is a version management tool and performs application version management using the CVSNT. Node Management Server manages nodes to maintain latest versions of applications by synchronizing versions of applications which are performed on the nodes with the versions of applications which are developed in the NADE. Node Agent which is loaded into the node periodically sends the version information of the application to the server, and stores and updates the version information of the application. Through the proposed change management system, applications of nodes are automatically updated when versions of applications are changed by correcting defects, changing functions or improving applications. Therefore, the user can effectively manage the execution of sensor network system without suspending or delaying the sensor network. Also, visibility of change management for sensor network applications will be improved.

  • The Enterprise Service Bus based on Java Business Integration is an web service standard and one of the methods for implementing distribution channels of Service Oriented Architecture. Consisting of open source group, extensive venders and users, the ESB based JBI has the problems of ineffectiveness as well as advantages of extensibility of service plug-in. That is, in case users need to use Service plug-in, manual connection of packaging process and sequential distribution method is required. This study, therefore, proposes as a way of trouble-shooting the user-oriented component deployment tool which can manage entire process for deploying The ESB middleware platform to Service unit. At the same time, this study elicited the requirements based on issues of JBI-based ESB and has developed the modeling property, packaging, distribution and evaluation thru Schema analysis of JBI-compatible component. Using the deployment tool this study proposed, users will be able to perform and manage the whole deploying process without additional manual work for connecting component. Not only it is expected that interface based on Graphic User Interface provide usability and convenience but they can also minimize the errors rate through component and route validity verification function provided in deployment tool.

  • In modern society, citizens' quality of life aspects of safety and crime prevention activities are actively considering the incidence of crime prevention in advance. It also can be quite important elicit the interest of who community members through effective crime prevention strategies. For crime prevention policies and techniques over time as more scientific and advanced methods are made. Today, A typical crime prevention strategies is private security zones and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) is a corresponding to the new strategy. CPTED is a diversification can be called a crime prevention approach that emphasizes the principle of natural surveillance, access control, territoriality, activity support, maintenance and management. The defensible space of the space area related to crime prevention setting the activities of private security and CPTED determine. Also, the reality of crime prevention and protection should be considered space. The emphasis on proactive prevention of crime in modern society for the prevention of crime how to approach differing perspectives and disparate aspects of private security and CPTED. Technical and professional areas that overlap to some extent in a homogeneous aspect. Ultimately, CPTED is a crime prevention through space and environmental approach for crime. In addition, Ultimate goal of convergence, crime prevention, with the same or higher is required to study for the area after looking for the characteristics and limitations of private security and CPTED.

ECR-PECVD 방법으로 제작된 DLC 박막의 기판 Bias 전압 효과

  • DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) 박막은 높은 경도와 가시광선 및 적외선 영역에서의 광 투과도, 전기적 절연성, 화학적 안정성 및 저마찰.내마모 특성 등의 우수한 물리.화학적인 물성을 갖고 있기 때문에 여러 분야의 응용연구가 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 DLC 박막을 제작하는 과정에는 여러 가지가 있으나, 본 연구에서는 ECR-PECVD electron cyclotron resonance plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition) 방법을 사용하였다. 이것은 최근에 많이 이용되고 있는 방법으로, 이온화률이 높을뿐만 아니라 상온에서도 성막이 가능하고 넓은 진공도 영역에서 플라즈마 공정이 가능한 장점이 있다. 기판으로는 4" 크기의 S(100)를 사용하였고, 박막을 제작하기 전에 진공 중에서 플라즈마 전처리를 하였다. 플라즈마 전처리는 Ar 가스를 150SCCM 주입시켜 5$\times$10-1 torr 의 진공도를 유지시키면서, ECR power를 700W로 고정하고, 기판 bias 전압을 -300 V로 하여 5분 동안 기판을 청정하였다. DLC 박막은 ECR power를 700W. 가스혼합비와 유량을 CH4/H2 : 10/100 SCCM, 증착시간을 2시간으로 고정하고, 기판 bias 전압을 0, -50, -75, -100, -150, -200V로 변화시켜가면서 제작하였다. 이때 ECR 소스로부터 기판까지의 거리는 150mm로 하였고, 진공도는 2$\times$10-2torr 였으며, 기판 bias 전압은 기판에 13.56 MHz의 RF power를 연결하여 RF power에 의해서 유도되는 negative DC self bias 전압을 이용하였다. 제작된 박막을 Auger electron spectroscopy, elastic recoil detection, Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, secondary electron microscopy, atomic force microscoy, $\alpha$-step, Raman scattering spectroscopu, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy 및 micro hardness tester를 이용하여 기판 bias 전압이 DLC 박막의 특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 분석결과 본 연구에서 제작된 DLC 박막은 탄소와 수소만으로 구성되어 있으며, 비정질 상태임을 알 수 있었다. 기판 bias 전압의 증가에 따라 박막의 두께가 감소됨을 알 수 있었고, -150V에서는 박막이 거의 만들어지지 않았으며, -200V에서는 기판 표면이 식각되었다. 이것은 기판 bias 전압과 ECR 플라즈마에 의한 이온충돌 효과 때문으로 판단되며, 150V 이하에서는 증착되는 양보다 re-sputtering 되는 양이 더 많을 것으로 생각된다. 기판 bias 전압을 증가시킬수록 플라즈마에 의한 이온충돌 현상이 두드러져 탄소와 결합하고 있던 수소원자들이 떨어져 나가는 탈수소화 (dehydrogenation) 현상을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이것은 C-H 결합에너지가 C-C 결합이나 C=C 결합보다 약하여 수소 원자가 비교적 해리가 잘되므로 이러한 현상이 일어난다고 판단된다. 결합이 끊어진 탄소 원자들은 다른 탄소원자들과 결합하여 3차원적 cross-link를 형성시켜 나가면서 내부 압축응력을 증가시키는 것으로 알려져 있으며, hardness 시험 결과로 이것을 확인할 수 있었다. 그리고 표면거칠기는 기판 bias 전압을 증가시킬수록 더 smooth 해짐을 확인하였다.인하였다.

Bacterial Toxin-antitoxin Systems and Their Biotechnological Applications (박테리아의 toxin-antitoxin system과 생명공학기술 응용)

  • Toxin-antitoxin (TA) systems are ubiquitous genetic modules that are evolutionally conserved in bacteria and archaea. TA systems composed of an intracellular toxin and its antidote (antitoxin) are currently classified into five types. Commonly, activation of toxins under stress conditions inhibits diverse cellular processes and consequently induces cell death or reversible growth inhibition. These effects of toxins play various physiological roles in such as regulation of gene expression, growth control (stress response), programmed cell arrest, persister cells, programmed cell death, phage protection, stabilization of mobile genetic elements or postsegregational killing of plasmid-free cells. Accordingly, bacterial TA systems are commonly considered as stress-responsive genetic modules. However, molecule screening for activation of toxin in TA system is available as development of antimicrobial agents. In addition, cytotoxic effect induced by toxin is used as effective cloning method with antitoxic effect of antitoxin; consequently cells containing cloning vector inserted a target gene can survive and false-positive transformants are removed. Also, TA system is applicable to efficient single protein production in biotechnology industry because toxins that are site-specific ribonuclease inhibit protein synthesis except for target protein. Furthermore, some TA systems that induce apoptosis in eukaryotic cells such as cancer cells or virus-infected cells would have a wide range of applications in eukaryotes, and it will lead to new ways of treating human disease. In this review, we summarize the current knowledge on bacterial TA systems and their applications.

  • Potassium Sorbate (PS) is a potassium salt version of sorbic acid, which has antimicrobial and fungistatic features in foods. Therefore, PS is used as a food preservative against fungi and mold. PS has been found to be non-toxic even when taken in large quantities given its trait to be broken down in the body into water and carbon dioxide. Gap Junctional Intercellular Communication (GJIC) is essential in the maintenance of tissue homeostasis during development and differentiation. This study was made of the effects of PS on GJIC in WB-F344 rat liver epithelial (WB) cells. We found dramatic decrease of cell viability in time- and dose-dependent manners when WB cells were treated with PS. The effect of PS on GJIC is strong inhibition, and it took place in parallel with a hyperphosphorylation of connexin 43 expression. The finding that PS interferes with gap junction functionality should be considered with respect to the mechanism of PS-induced hepatotoxicity.

GIS-based Assessment of the Lateral Connectivity in the Cheongmi-cheon Stream, South Korea (청미천에서 GIS 기반 횡적 연결성 평가)

  • Lateral connectivity between the channel and the floodplains has been damaged by the levee construction and channelization in most streams of South Korea. The purpose of this study was to develop a technique for easily and remotely assessing lateral connectivity using GIS in the streams and to evaluate the effectiveness of the assessment method by applying it to Cheongmi-cheon Stream, a representative stream in the central Korean Peninsula. The metrics of the lateral connectivity assessment are composed of (1) existence of remaining wetlands and (2) land use property as a habitat quality of the former floodplain outside the levee and (3) existence of levee barrier, (4) connectivity to the stream and (5) connectivity to the upland natural habitats as a connectivity from the channel through floodplain to the upland forest. According to the result of applying the assessment method to Cheongmi-cheon Stream, the lateral connectivity was severely damaged due to the levee construction and land use change in the former floodplain. The GIS-based assessment of the lateral connectivity developed in this study is expected to be used as a useful tool for identifying limitations of current connectivity in various attempts to restore lateral connectivity in riparian ecosystems.

A Numerical Study on Smoke Behavior of Fishing Vessel Engine Room (어선 기관실의 연기 거동에 관한 수치해석 연구)

  • The ventilation system of the engine room of a ship is generally installed to supply the combustion air necessary for the internal combustion engine and to remove the heat source generated in the engine room, and it must satisfy the international standard (ISO 8861) for the design conditions and calculation standards for the ventilation of the ship engine room. The response delay of the ventilation system including the fire detector is affected by the airflow formed inside the area and the location of the fire detector. In this study, to improve the initial fire detection response speed of a fire detector installed on a fishing vessel and to maintain the sensitivity of the installed detector, the smoke behavior was simulated using the air flow field inside the engine room, the amount of combustion air in the internal combustion engine, and the internal pressure of the engine room as variables. Analysis of the simulation results showed that reducing the flow rate in the air flow field and increasing the vortex by reducing the internal pressure of the engine room and installing a smoke curtain would accelerate the rise of the ceiling of the smoke component and improve the smoke detector response speed and ventilation system.

  • Large-scale industrial boilers operating at high temperature and high pressure, have a large amount of water, and a large amount of energy is released at the time of explosion. Currently, most industrial boilers use gas fuel such as LNG and LPG, etc. and fuel exists in the same space as equipment, so there is a high possibility of secondary damage such as fire or explosion in the event of a boiler accident. Both special care and management are required to operate the very dangerous equipment that causes casualty 2.51 per accident. For boilers of a certain size or more, the Korea Energy Agency conducts inspections in accordance with the Energy Usage Rationalization Act, KS, and public notice of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Resources. In this research, based on the results of the inspection, the hazard factorss are configured, and a questionnaire is conducted to the inspector, the equipment manager, the maintenance person, and the person in charge of the manufacturer. We analyzed the results by using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process). As a result of analysis, generally recognized hazard factorss are not good management, measurement failure, specification failure, water leak, leak analysis, but connection, welding, scale, and corrosion, etc. are relatively less important. It is judged that the adverse factors that are recognized to be highly important among all groups and careers are already well managed, but less important and adverse factors should be well managed to ensure that the safe usage of the boiler.

Source rock investigation for the Gyeongju Seated Stone Buddha with Square Pedestals in the Blue House using nondestructive petrological analysis (청와대 소재 경주 방형대좌 석조여래좌상의 암석학적 비파괴분석을 통한 산지해석)

  • A nondestructive petrological investigation was carried out to identify the original location and form of the Gyeongju Seated Stone Buddha with Square Pedestals in the Blue House (so-called Stone Buddha in the Blue House). The Statue is a representative stone Buddha statue of Silla (9th century) but its original location is controversial and some parts were missing. Based on the petrological observation, magnetic susceptibility and gamma spectrometry, its stone material was identified as medium-grained alkali feldspar granite. This kind of granites are widely found in the Namsan, Gyeongju. It is very likely that the Namsan granites are the source of rock of the Stone Buddha. The Yudeoksa (Igeosaji temple site) and Namsan are possible to be the original home of the Buddha Statue since there are petrologically identical alkali feldspar granite outcrop distributed in Namsan and stone heritage made of the same stone type in both places. An investigation on the square middle stone base in the Chuncheon National Museum reveals that it is less likely to be the missing part of the Buddha statue as the stone base is fine- to medium-grained pink feldspar granite and has different magnetic susceptibility from the Buddha statue. This study confirmed the contribution and significance of petrological investigation to identification of stone heritage in Korea.
