The flavor and sweetness of apples in film packag ing were judged to be significantly higher than control apples by those aged either 40-49 or 50-59 years (${\alpha}=0.05$). In the overall preference tests, apple freshness (P=0.0011), apple flavor (P=0.0002), and apple purchase attractiveness (P=0.0018) of apples in film packaging were judged to be significantly better than control apples by all age groups (those aged 20-59 years).

  • A study was conducted on dietitians in the Gyeonggido area to analyze the effect of purchase decision and attitude related factors regarding environmental-friendly agricultural products. The results of the factor analysis, correlation analysis and a multiple regression analysis are as follows. Many dieticians prefer environmental-friendly agricultural products, but they are reluctant to pay more money to purchase them. It was found that purchasing decision factors were 'loyalty' at 0.920, 'perceived quality' at 0.791, 'awareness' at 0.862, and 'brand' at 0.801. To conclude, the research result shows a statistically very close and positive correlation between the dieticians' attitude on environmental-friendly agricultural products and purchase decision. Other factors of quality(r=.296, p<.01), brand(r=.350, p<.01), loyalty(r=.558, p<.01), and awareness (r=.496, p<.01) acted as the most meaningful and significant variables. In short, of the dieticians surveyed in Gyeonggido province, the more favorably disposed to organic products, the more likely they are to purchase them. Accordingly, it is necessary for dieticians to be educated so that they may have greater awareness of environmental-friendly agricultural products. Furthermore, there is a need for more follow-up studies in order to gain an understanding of how to improve dieticians' attitudes on using organic products.

  • Research on consumers' perception and willingness to purchase Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) is necessary to simulate BEVs' deployment in South Korea because South Korea's BEVs market is still in the early stage. This paper derives a theoretical framework for consumer segmentation based on consumers' willingness to purchase before and after BEV usage experience. In particular, this study empirically evaluates consumers' willingness to purchase and concerns using the survey data from BEVs users in either Seoul or the Jeju region. The empirical results from logit models show that experienced consumers' concerns about the heater and air conditioning (HAC) in BEVs decreased the consumers' willingness to buy, while greater daily driving distances increased the consumers' willingness to buy. In addition, the empirical findings from ordered probit models show that experienced consumers' concerns about the short driving distance, the availability of maintenance service (i.e., A/S service) during unexpected events, and the difficulties of driving BEVs up-hill increased the degree of concern about HAC. This paper will provide insights related to consumer segmentation, R&D, marketing strategies, and policy design for policymakers and firms.

The main results are discussed focusing on hypotheses as follows. First, interactivity had a positive effect on psychological ownership. Second, interactivity had a positive effect on decision comfort. Third, psychological ownership had a positive effect on decision comfort. Fourth, psychological ownership had a positive effect on purchase intention. Fifth, decision comfort had a positive effect on purchase intention. Therefore, in online shopping based on augmented reality applications, interaction determines psychological ownership and decision comfort, and psychological ownership and decision comfort can be evaluated as key factors that promote product purchase intention in online shopping. In order to increase purchase intention in online shopping, a marketing strategy is required to increase interactivity, psychological ownership, and decision comfort through augmented reality applications.
