A System Development for Remotely Controlling Windows and Doors in Mobile Environment (모바일 환경에서의 원격 창호 관제시스템 개발)

  • This paper develops a new system for remotely monitoring and controlling the windows and doors in mobile environment. We design and implement the opening and shutting unit, the gateway, and the control server system, respectively. The opening and shutting unit consists of the driver using DC motor and the motion controller which monitors the state and transfers the control information. The gateway supports TCP/IP and CDMA protocol, which is the interface of wire and wireless communication for transferring the current state and control information. The control server consists of the program to store and process the control information, the middleware to support the processing of various state message, and DB for monitoring the state and remotely controlling the system. Especially, an application software and the Web-based user interface have also been developed to support the mobile environment. The operation performances, environment influences, driving persistences, and operation failure ratio, which are based on PC and smart-phone, have been tested in 2 authorized agencies. The test results show that the developed system has a superior performance.

Study on Analysis of Flow Field in Ejector Suction Pipe (이젝터 흡입관의 유동장 분석에 관한 연구)

  • An ejector is a fluid transportation device that operates based on the principle that a high-pressure fluid is spouted through a driving pipe and the pressure of a low-pressure fluid is increased through exchange of momentum with a low-pressure gas. Steam-steam ejectors have been widely used for suction, mixture, and dehydration. They can be easily used in places where fluid moves and expenses are reasonable. In addition, such ejectors are a semi-permanent fluid device that requires little maintenance. In this study, we present an optimized design by analyzing what cannot be obtained through experiments in order to improve the device performance, analyze general contents of a flow by acquiring exact test data on specific and interpretative areas using more advanced experimental techniques, and identify the flow characteristics of a branch pipe by examining the validity of experiments using computer hydrodynamics simulations.

  • Electro-Mechanical Actuator installed on the aircraft plays a key role in an aircraft's flight control through flight control computer. Reliable prediction of the actuator is important for the aircraft. To estimate the lifetime of a product, it is necessary to test full target life. However, it is very difficult to perform it due to the long life time of actuator but short period of development time with increasing cost. Therefore, accelerated life test has been used to reduce the test time for various reasons such as reducing product's development cycle and cost. In this paper, to predict the lifetime of the actuator, we analyzed the flight profile of aircraft and adapted the method of accelerated life test in order to accelerate failure modes that might occur under user conditions. We also set up an endurance test equipment for validating the demanded lifetime of an actuator and performed accelerated life test.

Effects of Repair Weld of Reactor Pressure Vessel Upper Head Control Rod Drive Mechanism Penetration Nozzle on J-Groove Weldment Using Finite Element Analysis (유한요소법을 이용한 원자로 상부헤드 CRDM 관통노즐 J-Groove 보수용접 영향 분석)

  • In pressurized water reactors, the upper head of the reactor pressure vessel (RPV) contains numerous control rod drive mechanism (CRDM) nozzles. These nozzles are fabricated by welding after being inserted into the RPV head with a room temperature shrink fit. The tensile residual stresses caused by this welding are a major factor in primary water stress corrosion cracking (PWSCC). Over the last 15 years, the incidences of cracking in alloy 600 CRDM nozzles have increased significantly. These cracks are caused by PWSCC and have been shown to be driven by the welding residual stresses and operational stresses in the weld region. Various measures are being sought to overcome these problems. The defects resulting from the welding process are often the cause of PWSCC acceleration. Therefore, any weld defects found in the RPV manufacturing process are immediately repaired by repair welding. Detailed finite-element simulations for the Korea Nuclear Reactor Pressure Vessel were conducted in order to predict the magnitudes of the repair weld residual stresses in the tube materials.

  • This paper presents harmonic evaluation of an IAT(Intra Airport Transit) system in Incheon International Airport. It will be used for electric vehicles with 80[kW] per car produced by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd, and which is constructed with SIV(Static Inverter), VVVF controller and two induction motor. The vehicles operated in the IAT system can be treated as rapidly changing DC loat and at a feeding substation, 3-phase electric power is transferred to DC 750[V] by rectifier. Since vehicles are changing continuously, the voltages for the load fluctuate in the IAT system, and moreover, the voltage fluctuation generates high-order harmonics. It results the difficulty in maintaining power quality in KEPCO systems' side. The power quality of the IAT system in Incheon International Airport is evaluated using PSCAD/EMTDC simulator in the paper. The THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) of voltages and TDD(Total Demand Distortion) of currents, indices are calculated for the IAT system using the results of PSCAD/EMTDC dynamic simulation.

Study on Magnetic Property for Test Coil and Permanent Magnet (Test Coil과 영구자석의 자기 특성 연구)

  • A CRDM (Control Rod Drive Mechanism) is an electromagnetic device which drives a control rod assembly linearly to regulate the reactivity of a nuclear core. An RPIS (Rod Position Indication System) is used as a position indicator for a control rod assembly of a CRDM of SMART, and an RPIS consists of permanent magnets and reed switches. SMART is designed for the maximum coolant temperature of $350^{\circ}C$, and the permanent magnets are installed inside of the reactor. The reed switches and electrical circuit are installed outside of the reactor on the other hand. Test coil for a reed switch is test equipment for quality verification of a reed switch, and a test coil consists of a coil and core. In this study, magnetic property of test coil and permanent magnet on a reed switch is compared by using finite element electromagnetic simulation.

Development of Model Turtle Boat for Teaching-Learning in the Elementary and Secondary Schools (초·중등학교 교수-학습용 모형 거북선 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop learning model turtle boat of teaching-learning materials in order for the students to enhance knowledge, skill and attitude and give interest in transportation technology, and also to recognize the legacy of Korean history. The model turtle boat was developed through three major phases; preparation, development and improvement. The main results of this study were as follows: First, the model turtle boat was developed for students to cultivate design, fabrication, process abilities, and also technological literacy by experimenting and fabricating for themselves. Second, the learning model turtle boat developed is equipped with the sail using natural energy, the linkage and screw applying a mechanical energy and solar cell using solar energy among driving energy. Third, in order to increase interest and attitude regarding a ship in transportation technology, the model turtle boat was developed for students to be able to operate with wireless transceiver on water. Fourth, the model turtle boat was developed to apply the teaching and learning materials for the classes of experiment and practice in primary and secondary schools.

Development of a Precision BLDC Servo Position Controller for Composite Smoke Bomb Azimuth Driving System (복합연막탄 선회구동장치를 위한 정밀 BLDC 서보 위치 제어기 개발)

  • This study has been done to design a precise system and develop position control algorithm to control a Composite Smoke Bomb Azimuth driving apparatus of a BLDC servo motor. Having to Blind the sight of opposite tank. the Smoke Bomb Rotational driving system needs instant response that is able to detect opponent appearance and blast the bomb at a short time. So a design that shows fast current response capability or $300[Hz]\sim500[Hz]$ is proposed. in the MIN-MAX PWM technology is used to increase the operational speed. in order to control the blasting position, a precision position control algorithm that utilizes the integral value of speed trajectory is suggested. Also these characteristics are monitored and assessed by the PC based monitoring program which shows the graphs of current, voltage, position, and speed parameters. The main controller is based on a TMS320VC33 high performance floating-point DSP(Digital Signal Process) and the PWM generator utilizes EPM7128 CPLD.

양성자가속기연구센터의 강입자 이용시설 현황

  • 2002년 21세기 프론티어 연구개발사업으로 착수한 양성자기반공학기술개발사업이 2012년말 완료되었다. 이 사업을 통하여 이온원, RFQ, DTL, 초전도 가속관, 빔라인, 고주파 시스템, 제어 시스템 등 양성자 및 이온 가속기의 핵심 요소기술을 개발하고 100 MeV 선형 양성자가속기 및 이온가속기를 제작하여 경주에건설한 양성자속기연구센터에 설치하고 사업을 마무리하였다. 2013년 상반기에 냉각시스템 등 부대시설의 시운전, 양성자가속기와 20 MeV 및 100 MeV 빔라인 각 1기를 포함한 모든 시설의 시운전을 마무리하고, 한국원자력안전기술원의 방사선안전시설검사를 거쳐 7월부터 운영을 착수하였다. 양성자가속기는 2013년말 까지 총 2,290 시간을 가동하여 937건의 이용자 빔 서비스를 제공하였다. 기체, 금속, 대전류 이온을 공급할 수 있는 이온가속기 3대는 기업체의 공정 및 제품개발을 위한 이용을 중심으로 622건의 이용자 빔 서비스를 제공하였다. 2014년도는 양성자가속기는 연간 2,500 시간 가동, 빔 서비스 1,100건을 목표로 하고 있으며, 현재 20 MeV 및 100 MeV 각 1기인 뿐인 빔라인 증설을 준비하고자 한다. 이온가속기는 상반기에만 이용자 빔 서비스를 제공하고 2014년 11월 완공될 빔이용연구동으로 이전 설치하여 보다 양질의 이온빔을 공급할 수 있도록 장치를 보완 할예정이다. 더불어 2015년에는 3 MeV 헬륨빔과 1 MeV 기체 이온빔을 제공할 수 있는 장치도 추가로 설치할 예정이다. 빔이용연구동 및 이온가속기 업그레드가 완료되면 보다 다양한 양질의 이온빔을공급하여, 특히 중소기업의 제품 개발에 도움을 줄 수 있도록노력할 예정이다. 양성자가속기연구센터는 장기 비전인 펄스형 중성자원의 구축을 실현하고자 노력을 지속할 것이다. 미국의 SNS 및 일본의 J-PARC 파쇄 중성자원은우수한 연구 성과를 생산하기 시작하였고 우리나라도 이에 대한 수요가 생겨나도 있다. 충분한 수요가 형성되면 이미 확보한 부지와 초전도 가속기 기술을 활용하여 단시간 내에 펄스형 중성자원 구축이 가능할 것이다. 펄스형 중성자원이 구축되면 양성자가속기연구센터는 당초 목표한 양성자, 중성자 및 다양한 종의 이온을 한 사이트에서 제공하여, 입자빔을 이용한 다양한 연구개발에서 상당한 시너지 효과를 낼 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

A Study on Cost Optimization of Preventive Maintenance for the Second Driving Devices for Korea Train Express (KTX 2차 구동장치에 대한 예방정비 비용의 최적화에 관한 연구)

  • Although the second driving device of KTX, which consists of the wheel and the axle reduction gears unit, is a mechanically integrated structure, its preventive maintenance (PM) requires two separate intervals due to the different technical requirements. In particular, these subsystems perform attaching and detaching work simultaneously according to the maintenance directive. Therefore, to reduce the unnecessary amount of PM and high logistic availability of the train, it is important to optimize PM with regard to reliability-centered maintenance toward a cost-effective solution. In this study, fault tree analysis and reliability of the subsystems, considering the criticality of the components, were performed using the data derived from field data in maintenance. The cost optimization of the PM was derived from a genetic algorithm considering the target reliability and improvement factor. The cost optimization was derived from a maximum of the fitness function of the individual in generation. The optimal TBO of them using the genetic algorithm was 2.85x106 km, which is reduced to approximately 21% compared to the conventional method.
