(2) DT rate was 28.4% in total and regional difference has been revealed. In Sujung-Gu, DT rate was 36,8% and this was nearly as twice as 19.8% in Bundang-Gu. (3) For permanent teeth, fillings requirements for one surface were 26.6%, more that two surfaces were 13.3%. In addition, artificial crown treatment requirements were 1.8%, dental pulp treatment was 5.3%, and extraction requirement was 2.2%. In contrast, holders of pit and fissure sealant were only 27.1%. Methods: The samples to achieve the purpose of this research are composed of 139 students in middle-school, OO county. Chungcheongbuk-do, the number of male students 64, and female students 75. Data were statistically analyzed by frequency analysis, $x^2$-test or Fisher's exact test by using SPSS WIN Ver. 12.0. Results: Among items on oral-health knowledge in middle-school students. the awareness ratio on a cause and preventive method for oral disease was surveyed to be lower than the awareness ratio on symptoms of oral disease. As a result of examining by comparing knowledge and behavior on the time of tooth brush. both awareness and behavior were the level of 50% or less than it. In particular, 46.2% perceived after lunch. but practice just accounted for 33.0%. The frequency of tooth brush a day was the largest in a case(47.5%) of doing twice a day. However. there was also the response (5.8%) with saying of brushing once or not brushing even once. Thus, the practice of tooth brush was surveyed to be very low even if being a minority of students. The frequency of taking a light meal was 68.8% in less than twice a day. However, even students of taking more than five times were surveyed to be 9.8%. Out of the whole-body health in over 50%-59.9%. the oral health was surveyed to be perceived to be very important. The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of oral health promotion program in a group of 9~18-year-old children and adolescents living in four orphanages in Dong-gu, Daejeon. The program was based on oral disease prevention program including oral health education, fluoride application and scaling every six months. Oral health status of total 109 orphans was examined by one dentists who were trained in 2010 Korean National Oral Health Survey. Dental caries index, community periodontal index and modified patient hygiene performance index (M-PHP) were checked using dental unit chair. Child oral health impact profile (COHIP) and subjective oral health recognition survey were carried out. Compared with data of 2010 national sample, the mean of decayed, missing and filled teeth showed no difference between the subjects and test values, but the means of decayed teeth, decayed surface, toothbrushing frequency of the subjects showed to become worse with advancing years in spite of oral health promotion program. COHIP, subjective oral health status showed lower than test values, too. In M-PHP and Calculus index, the subjects showed better by periodic oral health education and scaling. We suggest that oral health promotion program for orphans include oral disease treatment program as well as preventive program to improve oral health of orphans efficiently. And, oral health promotion program has to be connected with psychological support for improving quality of life of orphans.
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the oral health behavior and oral health belief of transportation workers. The subjects in this study were 270 selected taxi drivers who engaged in the taxi transportation industry in Jeollabuk-do. They were selected by convenience sampling. To determine the influence of their general characteristics and oral health belief on scaling experience and oral health education experience, a logistic regression analysis was made. And a multiple regression analysis was made by selecting general characteristics and oral health behavior as independent variables and by selecting oral health belief as a dependent variable. A statistical package SPSS for Windows ver. 12.0 was employed to make all the statistical analysis. As a result of making the logistic regression analysis, benefit that was one of the subfactors of oral health belief had something to do with oral health education experience, and the subfactors that exerted an influence on scaling experience were benefit, susceptibility and barrier. When the multiple regression analysis was carried out to find out influential factors for oral health belief, monthly mean income had an impact on susceptibility and barrier among the subfactors of oral health belief, and self-rated oral health status affected seriousness and barrier. There were differences among the taxi drivers in oral health belief according to their own characteristics, and oral health belief was linked to oral health behavior. Therefore oral health belief and oral health behavior should be taken into account when it's planned to promote the oral health of taxi drivers.
