  • The purposes of this study are 1) to analyse the importance and performance of the success factors in steps of Formation process Of Cooperation NetWork(FoCNW) of educational institutions and businesses, and 2) to draw the success factors that need improvement. To achieve these purposes a survey research was conducted with a group of 1,098 (professors, teachers and workers in charge of cooperation at universities, technical colleges, vocational high schools and businesses which are equipped with a cooperation system), and 339 questionnaires were analyzed. The major results of the study are as follows. Firstly, while cooperation workers showed high recognition on the importance of success factors in steps of FoCNW, their performance of those factors was relatively low. Secondly, both the recognition of importance and performance of success factors in steps of FoCNW was higher in educational institutions than in businesses. Thirdly, the success factors in need of improvements from both educational institutions and businesses are 'collecting outer information and consulting' and 'publicizing cooperation competency', 'setting cooperative activities (programs) and contents of agreements', 'managing cooperation quality formally', 'drawing plans for sustainable cooperation improvement' and 'diffusing cooperation network'. The success factors in need of improvements from educational institutions are 'perceiving necessity of and forming consensus on cooperation' and 'deciding and supporting the worker in charge of cooperation', and 'participating and sharing of organization members'. The success factors in need of improvements from businesses are 'deciding goals and performance strategies', 'developing mutual understanding and checking possibility of cooperation with potential partners', and 'evaluating cooperation activities and their outcomes and providing feedback' and 'adjusting contents of agreements and deciding whether to maintain cooperation'. Therefore, efforts from each partner to improve those factors and support from related organizations are necessary.

To achieve these purposes, the study developed a questionnaire by deriving the areas and items for the operation of apprenticeship schools, and analyzed 121 completed questionnaires of head and senior teachers who manage the apprenticeship programs across the nation after conducting a survey. The findings of this study can be summarized as follows: First, the teachers of apprenticeship schools found all the operation areas of the schools are important but difficult. • This study was conducted to provide basic data to establish health promotion and chronic disease management education programs and educational plans for well-aging by investigating the educational needs for health promotion and chronic disease management by life cycle. This is a descriptive correlation research study, and collected and analyzed through a structured questionnaire targeting 330 adults over 19 years of age registered at Gallup Korea. The results of the study were perceived health status 3.11 points (SD=.72), health promotion behavior 2.27 points (SD=.47), and health-related quality of life 0.92 points (SD=.10). Health-related quality of life was found to have a positive correlation with perceived health status (r=.472, p<.001) and health promotion behavior (r=.122, p<.026). The priority of educational needs and contents for health promotion and chronic disease management was the highest in chronic disease management. There was a significant difference according to the life cycle (p=0.001), and it was found that the mature stage was more likely to be aware of the level of knowledge, the need for education, and the willingness to participate in education compared to the youth. Through the results of this study, it is necessary to develop a comprehensive customized program that is subdivided according to the life cycle when developing health promotion and chronic disease management education programs for well-aging.

  • With the end of the HFA (Hyogo Framework Action) in 2015, SFDRR (Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction) was adopted as a new agenda for disaster risk reduction at the 3th WCDRR (World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction), held in March 2015. Continued understanding of the international agenda for reducing disaster risk is critical to disaster risk reduction at the national level as well as international level. Therefore, in this study, we analyzed major changes in the international agenda for disaster risk reduction as the transition from HFA to SFDRR, and analyzed South Korea's major achievements in the HFA and the implementation status of SFDRR in South Korea. In addition, SFDRR emphasizes the role of science and technology in policy making, and examined research trends in science and technology. 49.9% of the efforts were made to prevent the disasters during the disaster management stage, and plans related to priority 1 (40.4%) and 4 (35.8%) were mainly promoted. Science and technology research and development for disaster management were analyzed as active, but 79.7% of the tasks were related to priority 4, and it is necessary to develop all four priorities. Recently, disaster management using next-generation disaster prevention technologies such as satellite technology and big data is required, and it is expected that it will contribute effectively to mitigate disaster risk through establishment of education and policy to support it.

We also established a well-form structure of the job analysis results, completed a DACUM research chart, and consequently built a video editor's job model in TV broadcasting and video production areas. The proposed model is expected to be used as a fundamental material for a future job organization of video editors in TV broadcasting and video production areas, a development of the educational curriculum, and a priority decision of on-the-job training programs.

  • The purposes of the study were to identify a comprehensive competency list related to the jobs of nutrition teachers and to compare the competency needs for nutrition teachers and dieticians' competency levels. Job functional areas and a competency list for nutrition teachers were developed based on a review of literature and revised through expert panel reviews. A total of 53 competency statements associated with 11 job functional areas were specified. Questionnaires were distributed to 457 dieticians engaged in school food service and 148 responses were returned (response rate: 32.4%). Excluding incomplete responses, 142 questionnaires were used for data analysis. Approximately half of the respondents were enrolled in an 1-year nutrition teacher certificate program, 25% in a graduate school of nutrition education, and 19% had completed an 1-year nutrition teacher certificate program. The dieticians highly rated requirements of the competencies related to sanitation and employee safety, nutrition counseling, nutrition education, and teaching practices; in contrary, their competency levels for nutrition education, nutrition counseling, and teaching practices were low. Respondents' competency levels were significantly lower than the required competency levels of effective nutrition teachers in all functional areas. A quadratic analysis based on the requirement and self-evaluation of the competencies revealed that priorities of education programs targeting school nutrition teachers or students preparing to be nutrition teachers should be placed on improving competencies related to nutrition education, nutrition counseling, teaching practices, sanitation and employee safety, menu management, and human resource management. These results can be used to develop curriculum materials for basic and continuing professional education for nutrition teachers. It is necessary to review and update competencies regularly to reflect environmental changes in school food service programs.
