Purpose: High-quality hospice and palliative medicine curricula are necessary in Korean medical schools. This study evaluated changes in students' knowledge and attitudes toward both hospice and palliative care following the completion of a course on these topics, as well as the course's overall role in the basic medical education curriculum. Methods: Questionnaires measuring knowledge and attitudes were collected before and after the course from 76 fourth-year medical students, who had received instructions integrating both hospice and palliative care in 2016. Results: The questionnaire item "Select the correct answer on the use of opioid pain control in hospice and palliative care" changed the most in terms of number of correct answers pre- and post-course (3.50 and 5.32, respectively; P<0.001). Pre- and post-course, the numbers of students who answered "Strongly Agree" and "Agree" to questions concerning their attitudes toward hospice and palliative care ("I know the purposes and roles of hospice and palliative care") were 17 (22.4%) and 65 (85.6%), respectively (P≤0.001). Affirmative responses also increased for "As a pre-physician, I know when to describe and advise hospice and palliative care to patients", from 22 (28.9%) to 65 (85.6%; P≤0.001). Conclusion: This study showed that comprehensive hospice education in the form of an integrated educational course might promote changes in medical students' knowledge and attitudes toward hospice and palliative medicine.

The purpose of this study is to establish the standard curriculum for informatics by reflecting the changing information technology and social needs and based on the competencies that school at each level must have. To accomplish the purpose, the informatics curriculums of 8 countries were analyzed, and the learning elements of the curriculum were extracted with the body of knowledge of the higher-level informatics standard curriculum being the frame. To establish the standard curriculum, 51 experts reviewed it and their opinions were collected 10 times. As a result of this study, the competencies that need to be fostered through the informatics curriculum were defined, and the competency-centered curriculum, including the learning elements required to acquire the competencies, and the competencies that can be manifested through the learning element, was proposed. The implication is that the informatics standard curriculum, proposed in this study, laid down the foundation for establishing the informatics curriculum scheduled to be revised in 2022.

In 2020, civilized society's overall lifestyle showed a distinct change from consumable analog media, such as paper, to digital media with the increased penetration of cloud computing, and from wired media to wireless media. Based on these social changes, this work examines whether the use of computer media in the field of landscape architecture is appropriately applied. This study will give directions for new computer media classes in landscape architectural education in the 4th Industrial Revolution era. Landscape architecture is a field that directly proposes the realization of a positive lifestyle and the creation of a living environment and is closely connected with social change. However, there is no clear evidence that landscape architectural education is making any visible change, while the digital infrastructure of the 4th Industrial Revolution, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, autonomous vehicles, cloud networks, and the Internet of Things, is changing the contemporary society in terms of technology, culture, and economy among other aspects. Therefore, it is necessary to review the current state of the use of computer technology and media in landscape architectural education, and also to examine the alternative direction of the curriculum for the new digital era. First, the basis for discussion was made by studying the trends of computational design in modern landscape architecture. Next, the changes and current status of computer media classes in domestic and overseas landscape education were analyzed based on prior research and curriculum. As a result, the number and the types of computer media classes increased significantly between the study in 1994 and the current situation in 2020 in the foreign landscape department, whereas there were no obvious changes in the domestic landscape department. This shows that the domestic landscape education is passively coping with the changes in the digital era. Lastly, based on the discussions, this study examined alternatives to the new curriculum that landscape architecture department should pursue in a new degital world.
In this study, we analyzed the descriptions of the electron movement model and the oxidation number change model presented in the 2009 revised curriculum and textbooks. We also investigated chemistry education major teachers' conceptions of limitations of each model. The electron movement model and oxidation number change model were presented in the curriculum and the textbooks. However, hybrid model was also presented which fail to grasp the limitation of each model. The hybrid model explains redox reactions of covalent bond compounds by electron movement model or even if it explains redox reactions by oxidation number change model, this explanations have the problem of confusing the virtual electron movement with the actual electron movement. A questionnaire and interviews were conducted to investigate chemistry education major teachers' perceptions of redox reactions. As results, many teachers did not recognize the limitations of each model and had difficulties to distinguish redox reactions from acid-base reactions because of the hybrid model.
The ability to develop curriculums is a crucial factor in evaluating the expertise of a teacher who teaches culture & art education. Establishing a one-year plan for classes is an effort to create a well-designed curriculum for the year and also to foresee the big picture of classes in the corresponding year. A curriculum should not be composed of merely educational content or a series of knowledge and skills. It should be well-designed, based on principles of a coherent plan. This study examines organizational principles on which common curriculums are based on and looks at how a curriculum can be designed, especially for cartoon & animation classes, as part of Culture & Art education, and which factors should be considered in planning. In the process of forming such a curriculum, these steps should be followed: considering educational standards for cartoon animation classes; determining the learning experience, organizing the learning experience; and, lastly, evaluating the level of learning. In addition, effective teaching strategies that reflect the characteristics of a class on cartoon animation should be formulated. This study suggests actual examples of an effective annual curriculum for cartoon animation classes based on all the factors presented above.

In this study, we analyzed how the content and achievement criteria of the Geometry domain of Korean elementary school mathematics curriculum have changed. To this end, based on the analysis framework based on the 2015 revised curriculum, the achievement standards for each period were classified into continuous, extinct, and additional types, and their characteristics were examined. In the domain of Geometry, continuous achievement standards accounted for 51% of the total, and there were many achievement standards that remained unchanged in grade and domain. The extinctive achievement standard is 20.4% of the total, and the mathematics contents that were rapidly introduced due to the modernization of mathematics in the 3rd curriculum were eliminated the most from the 4th curriculum, and after the 7th curriculum, With the introduction of staged curriculum and the system of school year group, the contents of learning were either integrated or moved to middle school. The additional achievement standard was 28.6% of the total, and the achievement standard was added the most with the introduction of spatial sensory development in the 7th curriculum. The GAct that the additivel achievement standard is more than the extinction achievement standard in the Geometry domain is the result of the efforts to actively introduce the geometric contents appropriate to the times despite the great flow of curriculum revision of the curriculum reduction. It is hoped that the results of these studies will be used as basic data in the formation of new achievement standards in future curriculum development.
