In 21st century, mankind greets an era of ubiquitous computing where physical and virtual space are merged through the innovation of digital and IT(Information Technology), meanwhile ubiquitous computing and network paradigm suggest a new direction which our future educational system should head for. A society where people, computers, and objects can be connected with each other anytime and anywhere, that is, a society of ubiquitous computing where everything in our living space are interconnected by a immense network system may bring a variety of changes into our educational environment in schools. In this study I analysed the forecast of school educational orientation and ubiquitous educational environment and facilities in developed countries, and on the basis of the result, I performed a fundamental work for formation of a ubiquitous classroom environment which is feasible in Korea. In the section of conclusion, I present a model of ubiquitous classroom as a scenario based on ubiquitous computing technology applicable to future classroom environment.

Recently, there are three major trends in building school facilities by government. First trend is to reconstruct facilities that have been built for 30 years. Second is the creation of a new town, new construction demanded from the redeveloping area. Finally, third is to build educational convenience facilities such as gymnasium, auditorium and cafeteria etc. When building or reconstructing school facilities, it is important to consider the 7th Education curriculum. The purpose of this study is to propose the guide line of the planning the dimension of Science Laboratory in in elementary school, corresponding to teaming contents and method.

교육정보화의 실현이라는 과제가 현재의 학교현장에 필요한 만큼 제7차 교육과정의 시작과 더불어 학습자의 지식과 능력을 육성하기 위한 미리 계획된 WBI(Web based Instruction)를 기반으로 한 교수 모형의 필요성이 강조된다. 본 연구는 WBI의 교육적 기능을 충분히 반영하여 교실에서 교사가 사용하기 쉽고 효율적인 학습자료를 구현하여 웹 환경이 조성된 교실에서 활용할 수 있도록 하였다. 이러한 구현을 위한 프로그램으로는 웹 환경에서 실행하는데 무리가 없고 소용량으로 에니메이션 효과를 극대화 할 수 있는 Flash MX를 사용하였고, 고등학교 ‘수학10-나’의 내용 중 교과서와 칠판만을 사용하여 수업하는 데는 한계가 있는 과정인 ‘도형의 이동과 부등식의 영역’을 주로 개발하였다. 학습자들은 학교에서 수업한 내용을 웹 환경을 이용하여 개별학습 및 반복학습을 할 수 있고, 교사들은 교실이나 멀티미디어실에서 웹을 통하여 본 연구에서 구현한 프로그램을 사용함으로 학교 수업의 효율성을 높이고자 한다.

크로우 아일랜드 초등학교는 미국 근대교육 및 학교 건축사에서 기념비적 위치를 차지하고 있다. 1940년 건립된 이래 현재까지도 초등학교로서 그 기능을 유지하고 있으며 진보적인 교육철학이 학교 건축으로 구체화된 사례로 학교건축의 원론적 가치들은 시대의 흐름에도 불구하고 유효함을 웅변해 주고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 크로우 아일랜드 초등학교의 계획 특성을 자기 수용형 단위교실의 구성, 아동중심공간의 실천, 통합디자인의 적용이라는 측면에서 살펴보고 그 의미를 고찰하였다.

Jaw motion tracking, which is introduced in recent case reports, is a method which records the patient's individualized pathway of the mandibular movements along with facebow transfer, and reproduces the information in the virtual space of computer-aided-design/computer-aided-manufacturing (CAD-CAM) software. In this present case, a collapse of the occlusal plane was observed, due the loss of posterior teeth for a long period. Full-mouth rehabilitation with an increase in the occlusal vertical dimension was planned. First, the patient's mandibular movements were recorded on the newly established jaw relation by jaw tracking, and this information was assembled with the patient's intraoral data to create a virtual patient. Implant planning and diagnostic wax-up was done on the virtual patient, leading the fabrication of the provisional prosthesis. On the newly established jaw relation with an increase in the occlusal vertical dimension, canine guidance of the provisional prosthesis was checked. Finally, the provisional prosthesis was carried out to the definitive prosthesis. Using the advantages of the technologies in the digital dentistry, the patient was satisfied with the function and the esthetics after the treatment.

This study is for the size calculation of classroom based on the size of human body and teaching tools. The curriculum of Elementary school has been changed since 1960. It has been reflected on the size of classroom of elementary school. The new education curriculum-the 7th curriculum- demands various activities in classroom. And the Ministry of Education repealed the statute about the facilities of the schools on September in 1997. So we need to different size of unit space of the classroom in elementary school because the size of classroom will affect the quality of education. It is generally known that a part of human body-size has an invariable proportion with human's status, age and weight. In this study, regression analysis is used to find out a part of human body-size of Korean. Then the size of classroom is calculated by the part of human body-size, teaching tools and the type of desk arrangement.

Excessive teeth wear can lead to reduced chewing efficiency, occlusal plane collapse, and facial changes. Full mouth rehabilitation with a change in vertical dimension may cause pain in the temporomandibular joint, masticatory muscle and teeth, so an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan is required. In this case, a 69-year-old man had excessive teeth wear with a loss of posterior support. We evaluated the degree of adaptation to the increased vertical dimension with the removable occlusal splint and provisional restoration. We report this case because the treatment result has been functionally and aesthetically satisfactory by providing stable anterior guidance, proper posterior teeth disclusion, and even contact of all teeth in centric occlusion.

The basic unit of school is a classroom and the aural environment of the classrooms is essential factor for education purposes. Therefore, many efforts have been undertaken for enhancing the acoustical performance of the classrooms in many countries. As a result, acoustic criteria including reverberation time and background noise level have been established in US and UK for school classrooms depending on the usage and size of the rooms. However, in Korea, there has been little researches concerning the room acoustical investigations of the classrooms. The present study investigates the current situation of the aural environment of the 15 classrooms in Korea including elementary, middle and high schools. The acoustic criteria measured include RT, $D_{50}$, STI, SNR and background noise level. As the results, it was found that the background noise levels of the schools adjacent to roads exceed the US and UK standard of 35 dB(A). Also, most schools have so low SNR that they may be interfered by noise, which may affect speech transmission. It was also revealed that some schools have longer RT than the US standard of 0.6 s, but they all have high speech intelligibility.

지난 20여년간의 비약적 경제 성장을 통하여 우리 사회는 모든 물리적 측면에서 양적인 성장과 질적인 발전을 거듭하여 왔다. 이러한 경제 성장기를 거치면서 우리의 삶은 다각도에서 변화를 겪었으며 건축환경에도 많은 변화가 있었다. 정보화, 세계화라는 시대적 흐름은 우리의 생활자체를 급속도로 변화시키고 있으며 업무용 시설을 포함한 모든 건축물이 대형화, 고층화 뿐 아니라 정보화, 현대화되고 있다. 그러나, 교육의 중요성과 이를 뒷받침해 줄 학교 시설의 중요성에도 불구하고 교육환경의 질적 개선은 상대적으로 낙후되어 있는 상황이라고 할 수 있다. 교육개혁위원회의 교육개혁방안이 계속적으로 나오고 있고 서울의 불암초등학교를 필두로 한 시설 현대화 시범학교가 시도별로 마련되고는 있지만 전반적인 교육 환경은 아직 열악한 상태이다. 특히 구도심부에 위치한 초등학교의 경우, 준공된 후 30년 이상 경과된 학교 건물을 사용하고 있는 경우가 적지 않아 안전상의 문제마저 안고 있는 실정이다. 따라서, 건물의 내구 연한이 그 한계에 달해 가고 유지보수비용이 계속적으로 늘어 경제성을 잃어 가고 있는 학교들을 대상으로 한 재건축과제가 신설 학교의 신축 또는 기존학교의 이전 못지 않은 주요 과제로 대두되고 있다. 더욱이 기존 학교의 재건축사업은 수업을 진행시켜가며 철거 및 신축공사가 단계적으로 수행돼야 한다는 어려움을 갖고 있다. 본 연구는 초등학교의 재건축을 위한 기본적인 자료를 정리하고 배치 및 평면 계획을 중심으로 한 계획 대안을 작성, 검토하여 대안별 장단점을 분석한 후 가장 바람직하다고 평가되는 안을 제시하는 것을 연구의 범위로 하였다. 계획안의 작성에 앞서 실시된 문헌조사 및 실측조사를 통하여, 신축되는 홍파초등학교에 필요한 시설의 내용 및 규모가 산정되었는데 특기할 사항은 좁은 대지임에도 불구하고 가능한 체육관 시설을 포함시키고자 하였다는 것이다. 홍파초등학교 부지는 $8,960m^2$ 정도밖에 안되는 좁은 부지로서 운동장도 제대로 확보할 수 없는 상황이었으나 체육관의 높은 활용도 및 장래의 필요성을 고려하여 소규모라도 계획되는 것이 바람직하다고 판단하였다. 열린교육에의 대응, 제반 특별교실의 확충, 식당 및 지하주차장의 확보 등 모든 시설이 현재 및 장차의 사용에 적합하도록 계획하여 현 시설의 1.5배 정도의 연면적을 갖는 신축 계획안을 작성하였다. 서울대학교와 광운대학교에서 분담하여 실시된 계획안의 작성을 통하여 총 4개의 계획안이 도출되었으며 이 대안들을 채광 및 환기, 학년별 zoning, 기능별 zoning, 열린교실의 정도, 지역사회에의 개방성, 재건축 공사의 용이성, 규모, 옥외공간의 활용성, 동선 계획, 조형성 등 10개 항목을 기준으로 평가하였다. 이러한 비교분석을 통하여 결론적으로 제1안을 최적안으로 제시하게 되었으며, 이를 바탕으로 구체적인 최종 설계안이 도출되기를 기대하는 바이다.
