A Study of Teaching and Learning Strategies for a Creative Sight-singing and Ear-trainig Program (창의적인 시창·청음 프로그램을 위한 교수·학습 전략 연구)

  • This study was to provide teaching and learning strategies to develop a creative sight-singing and ear-training program that aims to design student-centered education. Therefore, the characteristics of the sight-singing and ear-training as well as teaching and learning methods were analyzed through the literature review, and the following meaningful strategies were derived. First, a student-centered teaching environment was promoted by diversifying the teaching environment through small group activities and establishing a sustainable learning environment using MyEarTraining and Musescore applications. Second, teaching and learning strategies were proposed to improve sight-singing and ear-training skills by applying for various teaching and learning methods and cultivating the qualities of a pre-service teacher. This study is expected to be used as meaningful fundamental data in developing specific teaching and learning processes for a creative sight-singing and ear-training program.

Effects of Learner Motivation and Teacher-student Interaction on Learner Satisfaction in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 학습동기와 교수학생 상호작용이 학습만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to exam nursing students to verify the effects of self-directed learning readiness, teacher-student interaction, educational performance, stress and learner motivation on learner satisfaction. The study population consisted of second and third year nursing students at E university located in S city. Data were collected between June 15, 2016 to June 24, 2016, and questionnaire comprised items to measure general characteristics, learner motivation, teacher-student interaction, self-directed learning readiness, educational performance, and learner satisfaction. A total of 132 students were included for the final analysis. Learner satisfaction was positively correlated with self-directed learning readiness (r= .21, p= .018), teacher-student interaction (r= .39, p<.001), educational performance (r= .21, p= .014), and learner motivation (r= .75, p<.001). In addition, learner motivation was positively correlated with self-directed learning readiness (r= .24, p= .005), teacher-student interaction (r= .38, p <.001), and educational performance (r= .21, p= .018). Finally, learner motivation and teacher-student interaction were found to explain 59.7% of the variance of learner satisfaction. Our findings suggest strategies and interventions that boost learner motivation and teacher-student interaction which are required to improve learner satisfaction in nursing education.

  • Since learner-centered, participatory, real-situation education is stressed today, we need a new creative method for teaching computers to elementary school students. Nevertheless, there is scant research in this area. Therefore, in my study, I have analyzed the state of the methods of teaching computer literacy in the elementary schools. My aim is to develop a method of computer teaching in the real situation of elementary schools which will greatly improve the learning process. Creative teaching method gives students the initiation. And lead for then to join the activities for using the student's reciprocity. It is the students centered method. As a result of this study offering the educational teaching method of the creative teaching method for the improvement of computer literacy and learning attitude in the school society which has no knowledge brings the practical effects of computer attainments. Some limitation of the subject and theme of this investigation. Then requires the continual study for the of development creative teaching method with the extension experimental groups and educational subjects.

  • Rapid developments of Information and Communication Technologies(ICT) have made people learn with online contents allowing learning at onilne universities. The environments of offering educational contents at online universities differ from those at offline-based ones, so that alternative variables need to be considered in order to enhance learning effectiveness in online settings. In this study, the effects of Self-Regulated Learning(SRL) and motivation on learner-instructor interactions and academic performance in an online university were addressed. As a result, SRL and motivation not only directly affected both interactions and achievements, but also indirectly affected achievements via interactions. Also, learner-instructor interactions were directly effective on learning achievements. The implications of the research included comprehensive understandings of the structural relationships of teaching- and learning-related variables on learning. Suggestions were made based on the results.

  • Education is an intentional change of human behaviors. This change is implemented through the learning process of humans. The principles in the learning process and its psychological mechanism are based on learning theories. The objective insight about how they are related with school libraries as a basic organization supporting school education, what they can contribute and what their research methodologies are is a base for educational and academic research of school libraries. This study at first is to investigate learning and teaching theories for school libraries based on behavioral learning theories, cognitive learning theories and constructive learning theories which are general trends for learning theories. Then it is to introduce new theory 'library-based education approach (LBEA)'as an educational base of school libraries.

  • This study investigates the effect of play-based software education instruction strategy for improving computational thinking as a method of software education. The play-based instruction strategy is a teaching-learning strategy in which the presented code is navigated through play, and the functions are revised and newly reconstructed. We designed an education program with the play-based instruction strategy and applied the program to elementary students. In order to verify the effectiveness of the research, we examined the competence of computing thinking concept and computing thinking practice. As a result, the computing thinking concept and computational thinking practice were that the proposed teaching-learning model is higher than the direct teaching method.

  • We explored the method of teaching and learning of 3D based software which is useful for 3D content's authoring and utilization as a suitable tool of teaching and learning for 'Smart Learning' environments. To investigate the possibility of application in the field, we applied this software to 'Smart School' temporally. After that, we conducted a survey of learning satisfaction of students, and assessed the possibility of application in the field via one-on-one talk with teachers. As a result, we drew a positive conclusion for the applications, which are instructional medias in various subject areas, presenting materials for motivation, a tool for individual or cooperative presentation, and instructional medias for underachieving students or gifted students.

Teaching and Learning Programming: A Constructivist Approach (프로그래밍 교수-학습에 대한 구성주의 접근)

  • This study examined the cognitive consequences of constructivist teaching practices on the acquisition and transfer of programming with respect to the design of an instructional context that would encourage students to engage in reflective thought; the cognitive consequences of learning in the constructivist context; and the relation between the social and the individual in the teaching and learning process of programming. Students worked on a variety of programming and design problems in constructivist instructional contexts. The results indicated that between-group differences over repeated measures consistently favored students in reflective instruction. Rather than simple differences on measures, the pattern of mean differences over time conformed to a chain of cognitive consequences regulating the acquisition of programming. The implications of the study and suggestions for future research were discussed.

  • The informatics education pursues to improve computational thinking ability. The purpose of this study is to explore the instructional methods for the informatics education of the 2015 revised curriculum to be effectively operated at the school. To do this, we investigate the characteristics of information curriculum in 2015 curriculum and teaching and learning methods of informatics education. Through this, it is expected that it will be able to gain a viewpoint on teaching methods of informatics education curriculum and can help the direction of teaching and learning research of informatics education.

  • 본 연구는 성인학습자를 대상으로 효과적인 비대면 수업방법에 대한 개선점을 모색하여 교수자의 수업역량 향상에 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 PBL(문제중심수업) 교수법을 기초로 4주차 수업을 설계하고 웹엑스(Webex)를 활용한 교수법을 49명의 학생에게 적용하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고연령 성인학습자를 대상으로 디지털기기 활용법에 대한 사전 숙지가 필요하며, 둘째, 팀활동을 위한 웹엑스 세션별 수업은 강의실 수업에서 수동적인 학생들의 적극적인 수업참여를 이끌었고, 셋째, PBL(문제중심수업) 수업 방식은 비대면 수업에서도 학생주도의 수업을 이끌어 내고 활발한 상호작용을 통해 학생들의 문제 해결과 실천역량을 향상시킬 수 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과는 성인학습자를 대상으로 한 교수자의 비대면 수업 교수법에 기초적인 자료가 될 것이다.
