  • This is an implementation study towards the development of a strategy to improve the pneumonia adequacy evaluation index of regional public hospital and to confirm its effectiveness. One physician, eight nurses, one computer room staff, and one nursing professor working at a regional base public hospital located in N city participated in this study from March to October 2021. An implementation study was conducted based on the conceptual model of Zuber-Skerritt & Fletcher. The stages of planning, implementation, evaluation, and reflection were operated in two cycles, and the effectiveness was evaluated in the second and third quarters. Compared to the pneumonia adequacy evaluation index in 2019, all indicators reached 100% of the standard target in 2021. The results of this study therefore infer that to provide higher quality medical services in the future, it is necessary to apply medical quality improvement activities through practical research under multidisciplinary participation and cooperation and to review the applicability of clinical sites.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of problem solving ability and critical thinking disposition on communication competency of nursing students. The subjects of this study were 289 students at two universities located in C and G province. The collected data were analyzed by multiple regression analysis. The results showed that communication competency of nursing students was positively correlated with problem solving ability and critical thinking disposition. Communication competency was explained 40.6% of the variance in critical thinking and problem solving ability. Therefore, in order to improve the communication competency of nursing students, it is necessary to develop an educational program that improves critical thinking disposition and problem solving ability.

  • This study aims to examine the differences in the longitudinal relationship between academic stress, mathematics self-efficacy, and engagement in mathematics class according to the math achievement level. According to the results, academic stress, math self-efficacy, and math class engagement were stable over time for the high and low groups. Also, In the high group, math self-efficacy had a negative longitudinal mediation effect in the influence of academic stress to math class engagement. Whereas, in the low group math class engagement had a positive longitudinal mediation effect in the influence of academic stress to math self-efficacy. This means that the academic stress affects differently according to the math achievement level, and mathematics teachers should reflect these results in their teaching/learning strategies so that students can increase their mathematics self-efficacy along with their engagement in mathematics classes.

  • The purpose of the study is to understand the impact of nursing college students' awareness and self-esteem on nursing professionals. The research design of this study is a descriptive investigative study using convenient samples. The data collection collected structured questionnaires and Google's online survey methods for first- to fourth-year nursing college students at three universities in North Chungcheong Province. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS window 25.0 program as frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation, t-test and one-way ANOVA, and post-test as Scheffétest, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. The study found that 21.7% (==-.181, p<.001), 2.8% major satisfaction, and 24.5% (β=.420, p<.001), so it is recommended to use it as basic data to establish a curriculum and teaching learning strategy to improve major satisfaction.

  • This study aims to answer the following questions: 'Do university students who are satisfied with their online courses have higher academic achievement?' and 'What are the key self-regulated learning strategy factors that influence satisfaction and academic performance?'. To do this, this study conducted a survey of university students taking online courses and collected a total of 95 questionnaires. Research method used structural equation model. The results of the analysis showed that, First, satisfaction and academic achievement in university online courses were found to be unrelated. Second, the factors affecting satisfaction and academic achievement were found to be different. Time management was analyzed as a significant factor affecting both satisfaction and academic achievement, while interaction was found to affect satisfaction only. These findings can be used as a basis for developing practical policies to prioritize and support self-regulated learning as an effective teaching method in university online courses.

  • Circular motion has been one of the most difficult concepts for students to understand. To facilitate for students to form scientific mental models about circular motion, this study developed 4M learning cycle teaching model based on the integrated mental model theory and strategies. For this study, fifty-three eleventh graders at a technical high school in Inchon were taught for 3 class hours. We conducted tests of basic physics concept and mental model of circular motion before, after, and two months after instruction. In results, we found that there were statistically significant improvement in the test of basic physics concept and mental model related with circular motion after instruction. Especially, this teaching model affected learning effectiveness of Correctness and Coherence of mental model.

  • The arrival of the Smart Age has allowed the mature development of information and communication technology (ICT), which increasingly affects our societies and daily lives. Aligned with the contextual background, the Association of Information Systems, which comprised MIS professors, selected ICT-enabled Bright Society Initiative as a future agenda in December 2014. This study employs the Delphi method, which involves the three steps of brainstorming, clustering, and ranking, to deliver the main purposes of the research: finding the agenda items to examine the Bright ICT Initiative, ranking these items strategically, and discussing the subprograms. The research findings discover 11 major issues, and the importance of each issue is ranked by analyzing the survey. Furthermore, how the levels of the importance of each issue that affects individuals, corporations, and societies/nations differ according to age and gender is studied.

  • This study aims to develop a research methodology course for graduate-level students using an information-seeking behaviour model of distance learners. Based on a case study and structured survey, the factors that motivate and hinder information-seeking behaviours were identified. The motivating factor for students seeking information through the research methodology course was the necessity to obtain a master's degree, while the hindering factor was the challenge of balancing work and study. The course was developed by leveraging motivational factors and addressing hindering factors. The results of this study can serve as foundational data for understanding students' information-seeking behaviour and establishing teaching and learning strategies to enhance students' information-seeking skills when developing online courses.

  • This study investigated the characteristics of science-gifted elementary students' reflection of their science classes. To do this, 91 reflective journals of 20 science-gifted elementary students were analyzed in terms of 'productive reflection'. The results revealed that the mean score of the inclusion scores, which mean the number of aspects of teaching included, was 2.99 on a scale of 5 points and was not significantly correlated with grade level. Most of the reflective journals included the aspects of 'science-gifted students (93.4%)'. 'Instructional strategies and instruction for science-gifted education (70.3%)', 'subject matter knowledge (68.1%)', and 'curriculum for science-gifted education (57.1%)' were also frequently included. However, 'assessment in science-gifted education (9.9%)' was hardly included. The mean score of the integration scores, which mean the number of aspects of teaching integrated as an index of productive reflection, was 2.84 on a scale of 5 points and was not significantly correlated with grade level. 6.6% of the journals showed no integrations. 34.1% of the journals integrated only two aspects, 39.6% of the journals integrated three aspects, 25.3% of the journals integrated four aspects, and no journals integrated all five aspects. Especially, the integrations between 'science-gifted students (100.0%)' and the other aspects were included in all journals. The integrations between 'instructional strategies and instruction for science-gifted education (70.3%)' and/or 'subject matter knowledge (65.9%)' and/or 'curriculum for science-gifted education (53.8%)' and the other aspects were also frequently included. However, the integrations between 'assessment in science-gifted education (9.9%)' and the other aspects were hardly included. There were no statistically significant differences between experiment-centered instruction and theory-centered instruction in the inclusion and integration scores. However, there were more diverse inclusion and integration types, and more aspects tended to be included or integrated in experiment-centered instruction than in theory-centered instruction.
