Earthquake and Geophysical Observatory Network by Korea Meteorological Administration and Future Plan (기상청 지진 및 지구물리 관측망 구축 현황과 향후 계획)

  • 기상청은 2008년 현재 전국에 107개의 디지털 지진관측망을 운영하고 있다. 또한 지진관측 유관기관인 한국지질자원연구원, 한국원자력안전기술원, 한전전력연구원에서 각 기관의 목적에 맞게 지진관측소를 운영하고 있으며, 이들 지진관측자료의 공유를 목적으로 실시간으로 통합하는 통합지진과측망(KISS)을 2000년에 구축하여 지진분석에 쓰이고 있다. 한반도의 지진발생 현황은 1978년부터 2007년까지 776회로 약 26회/년 정도가 발생하였다. 최근 중국의 쓰촨성과 일본 이와테 지진으로 지진 및 지진예지에 대한 국민적 관심이 대두되고 있다. 한반도에서도 큰 규모의 지진이 발생할 가능성에 대비해 기상청에서는 지진관측망과 지진예지 목적의 지구물리관측망을 구축 중에 있다. 지구물리관측망은 INTERMAGNET에서 등록할 수 있는 수준의 관측소를 목표로 인위적인 자기장의 교란이 적은 지질학적인 요소들을 고려한 후보지 선정을 위하여 지구자기업무에 관한 기획연구(서만철 2007)를 수행 하였다. 그 결과 국가 중심 지구자기관측소의 위치는 충남 공주시와 청양군 사이에 있는 칠갑산 지역이 가장 좋은 후보지라고 제안하여 청양지역을 주변으로 국유림 및 군유지를 조사하여 충남 청양군 장평면 화산리 산 36-2번지에 후보지를 선정하여 최적의 입지 조건을 검증하기 위해 인천교육대학교의 이휘순 교수 MT탐사를 수행 주변의 배경잡음을 측정하여 양호한 조건을 갖춘 것으로 확인되었다. 지구자기관측소에는 Fluxgate Magnetometer 1대, Total field Magnetometer 1대, Theodolite 1대, SP(Self Potential) Monitoring system 1대와 장비들을 보호 할 수 있는 관측소가 설치될 예정이다

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of PBL in a college AD/PR class. This class was run under the theme of 'Sinchon Regeneration Project' in the 'Seodaemun-gu & University Collaborative Project Program'. As a result of the pre-post surveys, the authors found a significant increase in the place attachment to Sinchon, which was considered as a critical variable in this program. This research is an important study with high practicality in the area of cultural content production education PBL. The PBL teaching method can contribute to enhancing the class satisfaction and strengthening the competitiveness of students in cultural content related majors.

Document Management System using XML/EDI in Education Web (교육망에 XML/EDI를 도입한 문서 관리 시스템)

  • Public and private schools have close relationship with education-related organizations and they have exchanged formal documents to communicate each other. Introducing the XML/EDI used in electronic-commerce to the education web will make a great benefit for decreasing affairs in educational administration. In this paper, we implement a document management system using XML/EDI. This system makes it possible to treat documents which are not supported in current education-information-exchange system and can be added to the current system without any additional modification. We analyze the documents used in the current system and implement new types of tags suitable for education web. In addition, we difine new documents and DTD using only XML without any application software. This will have effects on reducing teacher's administrative work and enable teachers to concentrate on their teaching.

Development of an Web-Based English Learning System for Middle Schools (웹에 기반한 중학교 영어학습시스템의 개발)

  • Although distance education system based on WBI theory has already been generalized in domestic universities and some private academical institutes, the use of the system in the real fields of schools is in the early stage now. In this paper, we develop a model of English learning system for middle school students and improve students' learning methods through the system. The system also makes students study all the learning topics which they choose in the system freely and repeatedly. It was applied to the middle school students. The analysis of the application showed the following results. First, it was very effective for students to achieve the learning objectives of the course of English. Second, the system made students improve their abilities to study English and also increase their abilities to surf the Internet and glean useful information. Third, the system made it possible for students to accomplish individual learning.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze recognition cases on media education for disabled people, discovering tasks to improve media competence of disabled people and to find adequate supporting program. Semi-open type focus group interview is conducted with participation from media education teachers having teaching experience over disabled people. Main goal for this interview is to locate the aim, causes of disability, education methodology and revitalizing method for the media education for disabled people. Specifically, semi open type focus interview is selected to form questionnaires while catalyzing free discussion between participants. The intention of selecting quantitative research by FGI is to derive various recognition and experiences of participants by free discussions and opinion sharing. In addition, both teachers and learners are selected to find differentiated and common views towards the theme, realistically analyzing recognition experience from various angles.

Selecting Instructional Contents for Nutritional Education Program for Junior/Senior High School Students Through Instructional Analysis and Analysis of Entry Behaviors and Learner Characteristics (중ㆍ고등학생 대상 영양교육 내용 및 성취 목표 선정을 위한 교수분석과 출발점 행동 및 학습자 특성분석)

  • For the purpose of developing ‘Web-Based Nutritional Education Program’, this study did instructional analysis, analysis of entry behaviors and learner characteristics to select instructional contents for nutritional education program for junior/senior high school students. Survey questionnaires were distributed from October 21, 2002 to October 26, 2002 to a total of 564 junior/senior high school students in Seoul. The total number of questionnaires collected and used in our study was 479, which is 84.9% of the total questionnaires distributed. As a result of the curriculum analysis of ‘Technology-Home economics’, subjects related with ‘food and nutrition’ in the 7$^{th}$ educational course study result, lessons including the contents of food and nutrition were ‘nutrition and meal of adolescent’ in 7th grade, ‘family meal management’ in 9th grade and ‘practice of home life’ in 10th grade. According to the curriculum analysis, ‘nutrition’ and ‘food’ were chosen for the superior subjects of nutrition education program and four subordinate subjects per superior one were developed. Then, entry behaviors and learner characteristics were analyzed: life characteristics, internet usage, anthropometrics data and nutritional knowledge. Students were interested in using computer and preferred passive activity to dynamic activity. According. to the analysis of internet usage, WBI for students should composed active parts such as game, moving image, immediate reply and follow-up bye-mail, bulletin board and com- munity activity. Students’ BMI were in normal range but they were lacked nutritional knowledge. We wrote performance objectives that were specific behavior skills to be learned, the conditions under which they must be performed and the criteria for successful performance. The next step for developing the WBI nutrition education program would be based on the results mentioned above.

The Development of a Cosmetics Educational Convergence Program for Free-Semester System (자유학기제 화장품교육 융합프로그램 개발)

  • This study developed and proposed a cosmetics education program for middle school students for the free semester policy. The program was conducted for 20 sessions, two hours per week, based on theories and practice, and the teaching-leaning plan was made in the order of introduction, development, and summary. Through the program, students will have an opportunity to recognize the problems of misusing cosmetics and importance of the skin. Also, the program was developed in a way that encourages students to actively participate in the education so that it can lead to career development in the social and technical aspects. This study can provide basic data for students to acquire knowledge and practical education related to skincare and cosmetics use in the future.

A Study on e-Mentoring system Design for Guiding Learning After School (방과 후 학습지도를 위한 전자멘토링 시스템 설계방안)

  • The instruction based on mass production system has contributed to the materialistic abundance, but it caused the innate target of education, development of 'holistic human beings' to be lost. Accordingly, the mentoring has been highlighted as an alternative instructional method because it can support learners in the aspect of cognitive and affective domain. On the other hand, as an effort of overcoming time and place constraints of face-to-face mentoring, e-mentoring is being required. This research aims to propose the e-mentoring system design plan for guiding learning after school, which may support face-to-face mentoring. Based on literature reviews, the direction of design was set and the necessary functions were drawn. e-Mentoring system design plan proposed in this article may be helpful to practitioners who are interested in the enhancement of effectiveness and efficiency of mentoring programs. Also it is required that more practical study should be performed for developing the system and testing its effectiveness.

Analysis of Educational Effect for the Video Clip UCC (동영상 UCC의 교육적 효과 분석)

  • The Information and Communication Technology(ICT) is applied variously by advanced development, however that also causes the ethical problem simultaneously nowadays. It is emphasized the necessity of information and communication ethics and the scheme also is suggested that the student actually may produce and use their own UCC as an educational material which relates to ethics of information and communication in this paper. By doing that activity, student could learn themselves from what they've produced. Therefore they can approach the subject with more interests, beside the method how teacher has been teaching normally which can be described as cramming. The suggestion is phased by the steps as below; First of all, adequate guidance is selected and the aim of education is established to the method of education through producing UCC by analyzing the contents system of information and communication ethics. Second, it is analyzed educational effect along media of UCC. Third, it is analyzed educational effect along the producing format of UCC. Finally, the scheme is developed that student could be learned from UCC they have created. Therefore, students could be participated by themselves more actively to the education and manage the negative effects of ICT. They also could acknowledge and determine the right ethical awareness of information and communication, and develop more advanced ethical awareness by doing this activity.

  • The programming education of non-computer major undergraduates aims to increase the their problem-solving and coding skills so that the skills can be applied to various fields and motivate them to continuously study computer or programming. However, it difficult for them to recognize the necessity of programming knowledge and to find out how it can be used in their major. Therefore, the professor needs to give students a full explanation of their roles to play. In this paper, we revisit the necessity of programming knowledge for non-computer major undergraduates by looking at the convergence cases of ICT technology and the humanities and social arts fields. And we propose an instruction direction of programming learning for them.
