The process of selecting a small number of representative colors from an image of higher color resolution is called color image quantization. In a color quantization process, it is vet important to determine what colors should be preserve and the others not. In our study, by the idea of an image can be divided into interesting area and uninteresting area, we propose a color quantization method that preserves more colors in the interesting area of an image. We evaluated correctness of extracting interesting area and compared the quality of our method with the others.

A sub-picture slice structure is proposed which can perform the region-of-interest coding effectively, where the subjective quality can be improved by coding the region-of-interest in higher quality than the background region. In addition, the bit allocation mechanism is Proposed where the interval between quantization parameters of the foreground and background region is fixed. And the method to reduce the boundary effect between the foreground and background region is proposed. The foreground region is better protected to the network channel error than the background region. which results in the overall subjective quality improvement in the error prone environments.

In this paper, we propose a news article recommendation system that reflects users' areas of interest and reading habits. Users can select interesting subject then our proposed system displays interesting articles above the other articles. Also the proposed system reflects users' dynamic interests using analyse of user's reading habits. The method of dynamic interest applies the different weight values from users simply clicking and reading entire articles. When users read articles from specific areas, the prosed system increases the weight of these specific areas using XML structure information. Hence users can read their articles of interest with ease.

This study explores the attributes of local readers based on a discriminant analysis. Local readers are divided into three groups national newspaper reader, local newspaper reader, and national & local newspaper reader. A nationwide telephone survey was conducted in june, 2004 and gathered 2,063 cases. News subject and advertising appeared to play less important role in distinguishing among the three group examined. The most powerful discriminating variables were residence area and period of residence area. Education, interest of capital city news, job were found to be moderately important variables on Function 1, which distinguished between local newspaper reader and national & local newspaper reader. Generally, local newspaper reader showed higher interest on capital area news and lower interest on metropolitan area news. However, the result of a discriminant analysis indicated local newspaper reader was distinguished from national newspaper reader in terms of higher interest of metropolitan area news. Simultaneously, local newspaper reader was distinguished from national & local newspaper in terms of lower interest of capital area news.

The purposes of this study were to identify the effects of distraction strategies compared to usual pain management, and to compare the effects of passive and active distraction on pain responses of preschool children during immunization. A quasi experimental with non-equivalent control group posttest design was used. Participants for each group were 30 preschool children who visited a pediatric clinic to have influenza immunization. Children in experimental groups selected one of two distraction types. Pain responses were measured by children, parents, and researcher. Pain responses by children, parents, and researcher during immunization were significantly different between groups. Children in passive or active distraction group were more distracted than children in control group. Moreover, self-reported pain response by children($2.70{\pm}0.88$) and researcher($12.97{\pm}2.39$) in active group were higher than pain scores by children($2.27{\pm}0.64$) and researcher($10.63{\pm}1.65$) in passive group. Results of this study identified that distraction intervention is an effective method for decreasing pain responses in preschool children during immunization. Passive distraction is more effective than active distraction. Use of distraction strategies during immunization should be facilitated. Further research comparing distraction strategies by types and forms is needed.

A point of interest is a specific point location such as a cafe, a gallery, a shop, or a park. It consists of a name, a category, a location, and so on. Its information is necessary for location-based application, above all category is basic information. However, category information should be automatically gathered because it costs high to gather it manually. In this paper, we propose a novel method to estimate category of POIs automatically using an inner word and local context. An inner word is a word that contains POI's name. Their name sometimes expose category information. Thus, their name is used as inner word information in estimating category of POIs. Local context information means words around a POI's name in a document that mentioned the name. The context include information to estimate category. The evaluation of the proposed method is performed on two data sets. According to the experimental results, proposed model using combination inner word and local context show higher accuracy than that of model using each.

By identifying the relationship between Interest of Entrepreneurship and intention, this study clarifies the entire lifecycle process leading up to a college student's decision to start a business. We explore whether an individual's Interest of Entrepreneurship stemming from start-up activities and the interest of parents toward their children's start-up affect start-up intention. For this purpose, attitude toward start-up, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control, which are components of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), were set as parameters. Furthermore, start-up self-efficacy was established as a moderating variable to examine the relationships between factors and their importance. In addition, survey questionnaires were collected from 300 college students in Korea, and after excluding 18 insincere responses, a total of 282 were analyzed using SPSS 26 and AMOS 26. The main findings are as follows. First, an individual's Interest of Entrepreneurship has a significant impact on start-up intention, mediated by attitude toward start-up, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. Therefore, future college start-up education should apply the components of TPB to enhance its effectiveness, and various start-up activities should be provided to foster students' interest. Secondly, parents' interest in start-up has a significant impact on subjective norms and perceived behavioral control. Therefore, even if parents are interested in their children's start-up activities, such interest does not necessarily lead to favorable attitude. However, as it significantly impacts subjective norms and perceived behavioral control, start-up education targeting parents linked to these parameters could increase college students' Interest of Entrepreneurship and intentions.

떡과 한과는 수백 년 전부터 우리 식생활 전반에 걸쳐서 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있다. 슬플 때나, 기쁠 때나, 정을 나눌 때나 언제나 떡과 한과는 우리와 함께 해 왔다. 건강에 대한 관심이 고조되면서 세계의 많은 사람들이 한국음식에 관심을 갖기 시작하였다. 이에 따라 우리의 떡과 한과에 대한 관심도 높아져 신세대와 외국인 등 우리 떡에 대한 새로운 변화를 기대하는 사람들이 매우 급증하는 추세이다. 서양의 피자, 케이크, 빵류가 우리의 생활에 침투하였듯이 우리의 떡과 한과도 좀 더 연구 개발에 힘쓴다면, 서양의 문화에 자연스럽게 침투하여 세계인의 생활 속에 친숙한 음식문화도 자리 잡을 수 있을 것이다.

최근 온라인 뉴스는 대중의 관심사 및 트렌드에 따라서 다양한 종류의 기사들이 작성된다. 이러한 관심사 및 트렌드는 시간의 흐름에 따라 계속 변한다. 본 논문에서는 온라인 뉴스의 기사 제목을 이용하여 시간에 따라 변하는 관심사 및 트렌드와 관련된 단어를 추출하는 방법을 제안한다. 특정 기간 별 출현하는 뉴스들을 하나의 카테고리로 가정하고 자질 선택 방법에서 널리 사용되는 카이제곱 통계량을 이용하여 각 카테고리의 주요 단어를 추출한다. 실험 결과 특정 기간 별 관심사 및 트렌드와 관련된 단어들이 출현하는 것을 확인하였다.

최근 생활수준의 향상으로 식생활의 서구화와 식품의 제조 및 가공기술의 발달로 장기저장 식품 및 인스턴트식품의 이용도가 현저히 증가하고 있으며 이를 위한 식품첨가물에 대한 관심도 높아지고 있다. 식문화가 바뀌면서 당뇨병, 고혈압, 동맥 경화증 등의 성인병 질환이 급증하고 (1,2) 이러한 만성병의 증가로 식품과 질병과의 연계성에 관한 관심이 급격히 증가하고 있다. 이러한 경향에 따라 식물성 원료의 생리활성 성분에 대한 관심이 높아지고 국내ㆍ외적으로 생리활성 성분을 함유한 신소재 식물들을 원료로 이용하려는 시도가 많이 이루어지고 있다(3,4).
