A Study on Improvement of Korean Music Performance: Using Kano-Timko Model and Potential Customer Satisfaction Improvement Index (Kano-Timko 모델과 잠재적 고객만족지수를 이용한 국악공연 개선방안에 관한 연구)

  • Many Korean traditional music such as Jongmyo Jeryeak and Pansori are listed as UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage and are recognized for their value. However, compared to other genres, Korean traditional music shows various problems such as low proportion of paying audiences and bias of audience age. Previous studies in the performing arts point out that in order to solve these problems, it is necessary to analyze consumers. Existing previous studies on the Korean traditional music performance remained mainly to grasp the influence of performance quality of service on viewing satisfaction at the one-dimensional level. However, in order to meet consumer expectations, not only the satisfaction factor but also the reasons why performing art consumers do not consume performances. In addition, it is important to identify the factors that can cause service failure before the performance, to prepare countermeasures and to manage them continuously. In this study, the Kano-Timko model was used to classify the quality factors of Korean traditional music performances, and to identify the priority points of service failures of Korean traditional music performances through the potential customer satisfaction index. Through the results of this study, Korean traditional performing organizations and organizations will be able to prepare proactive countermeasures for service failures occurring in Korean traditional music performances and establish effective operational strategies to derive customer satisfaction. In addition, it is important to apply the concept of service failure in order to classify the performance quality of service that was identified only in a one-dimensional manner based on Kano model.

Influence of Service Quality and Visit the Motivation on Visitors Satisfaction, Behavioral Intention in Museum. -Focused on National Museum of Korea (박물관 서비스 품질과 방문동기가 관람객 만족도, 행동의도에 미치는 영향 연구 -국립중앙박물관을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of the study is to find factors to measure Museum Service Quality (SERVQUAL) and Visitors' motivation. The survey was analyzed with 214 questionnaires out of 230 ones and it was conducted by those who have once visited the National Museum of Korea. Pre-test was conducted from May, 2013. Deriving adequate Service Quality Measures in Museum, factor analysis was applied. From 29th of July 2013 to 23rd of August 2013, surveys were conducted through online and off-line. Using the SPSS 20.0 statistics, Population analysis was applied frequently. In order to ensure the reliability, cronbach ${\alpha}$ value was evaluated. Fit of the research model and the suitability of the path coefficients were evaluated through AMOS to ensure the validity and reliability. As a result, in terms of Analysis on Service Quality, it influenced significantly on the degree of satisfaction. Visitors' motivation also had partial influence on the degree of satisfaction. Moreover, Behavioral Intentions were also influenced by the degree of satisfaction.

The Relationship between Service Quality and Relationship Quality of Music Performances (음악 공연의 서비스 품질과 관계 품질 간의 관계)

  • Consumers' interest in performance art is increasing with the advent of the 'culture era', and there is a need for marketing strategies for market base expansion and research in order to achieve this. Therefore, the aim of this study was to empirically establish the effect of service quality factors perceived by consumers during musical performances on audiences' relationship quality. Research results showed that the quality of the physical environment and of results, i.e. service quality, affected commitment and satisfaction, and quality of interaction had a significant effect on satisfaction. Moreover, commitment and satisfaction with relationship quality had a significant effect on loyalty. This study confirmed which service quality elements were considered important for audiences' commitment and satisfaction when attending musical performances, and thus suggests opportunities to understand audiences' consumer behavior and better improve their relationship quality.

  • Due to IT(information technology) development, various ITs have been applied to tourism. Since June 2010, PDA guide service was launched in Kyungbok palace. This study tried to find how effectively the service is operated by comparing flow, satisfaction and reuse intention of PDA users with those of who have received guide service by professional interpreter. The result indicates that those who have received professional interpretation showed to be more involved, satisfied and have more intention to reuse. The paper explored the composing factors of PDA guide service, which are 'interpretation', 'design', 'ease of use', and 'stability of operation'. Among these factors, interpretation was analyzed to be only factor what affects users' involvement and also most influential attribute explaining users' satisfaction and reuse intention. 'Interpretation', 'stability' and 'ease of use' are shown to have impact on satisfaction, while 'interpretation' and 'stability' have significant effect on users' reuse intention of PDA guide service. The operational implications from these results are suggested.

Perceived Value, Satisfaction and Revisit Intention for Arboretum Visitors (수목원 방문자들의 지각된 가치, 만족 및 재방문 의도간의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the causal relationship among perceived value, satisfaction and revisit intention for visitors of the Korea National Arboretum. Three hundred respondents were selected by quota sampling, and well-known measurement scales utilized in marketing field were adopted in order to measure three variables with some modification to apply for arboretum visitors. Results of structural equation model showed that perceived value affected visitors' satisfaction, which in turn influenced revisit intention. Specifically, "emotional value" had the most significant influence on satisfaction, followed by "value for money" and "novelty value"; however, "social value" was not an influential construct. Based on calibration results, several strategies were suggested for the effective management. Authors advised that (a)improvement of measurement scale of value, (b)inclusion of self-congruity as antecedent variable to satisfaction, (c)changing revisit intention to word-of-mouth communication as a post-purchase behavioral intention, and (d)implementation of market segmentation should be considered for future research.

  • 본 연구는 실증주의적 연구방법에 근거한 스포츠마케팅 연구에 자연주의적 접근방법을 소개하고 Ethnographic 면접방법의 적용가능성을 제안하기 위한 목적으로 진행되었다. 이를 위해 스포츠마케팅의 선행연구들의 특성과 연구동향을 검토하고 해설적 연구와 질적분석의 필요성을 제시함과 동시에 Ethnographic면접 방법을 소개하고 스포츠마케팅 연구에 유용성을 제시하였다. Spradly(1996)가 제시한 12단계의 연구과정을 6단계로 축약하고 각 단계에서 의 연구내용을 제시하였다. 또한 스포츠마케팅의 적용분야로 스포츠상품의 생산자인 선수 와 관람소비자의 역할 규명 연구, 스포츠마케팅의 소비과정과 고객만족 연구. 매체를 통 한 소비상황과 서비스적 요인 연구, 스포츠마케팅의 연구영역 등에 적용가능성을 제시하 였다.

Effect of We-ness and Flow on the Spectator Promotion of K-League (우리의식과 플로우가 K-리그 관람촉진에 미치는 영향)

  • The aim of this study was to look for the cause of shortage of K-League spectators from a consumer's perspective and to offer solutions. For this, we offered enhancement method of the K-League spectators through dual path model based on existing relative researches. The first path involved consumer reaction to external factors of the K-League game. This path explained relational view(=we-ness) of consumers on K-League game(Hypothesis 1, 2). The second path explained personal view on K-League game. This path means consumer reaction to K-League game itself(Hypothesis 3, 4). The empirical study was based on a field survey and structural equation model. The results showed that we-ness positively affected team loyalty(Hypothesis 1) and the team loyalty positively affected spectating intentions(Hypothesis 2). It also revealed that flow of K-League game positively affected consumer satisfaction(Hypothesis 3). Finally consumer satisfaction was found to affect spectating intentions(Hypothesis 4). The significance of present study is to extend scope of research which is related with cheerleading of sports game. And this study emphasize the importance of we-ness and flow in sports game.

An Analysis of Demand-side Factors in Korea's Movie Industry (한국 영화산업의 수요 측면 변수 분석)

  • People generally focus on the supply side when conducting a study on the movie industry. However, to understand the movie industry better, one needs to analyze both sides - the demand and supply of movies. This paper analyzes demand-side factors that have long been taken for granted in Korea's movie industry. The study used data for 1991~2008 on the following demand-factors : the average ticket prices, the number of working days and hours, the average personal income, the number of spectators for the two major professional sports, cable TV, the number of movies released each year and the number of movie screens. This study shows that ticket prices do not conform to the law of demand. According to the law of demand, increasing price leads to a decline in demand. However, in reality, the number of viewers went up along with ticket prices. The study found that demand for movies was correlated to income levels and leisure time. An increase in the number of leisure hours and income levels pushed up demand. Contrary to general belief, a growth in the availability of substitutes, such as professional sports(soccer and baseball), did not result in a fall in demand for movies. The audiences for both sports and movies grew simultaneously as the amount of leisure time increased. Contrary to the general expectations that more diversified genres of movies will draw larger audiences by satisfying different individual tastes, the diversification had little impact, but the number of movie screens was positively correlated with audience size. In sum, changes in ticket prices and the quantity of substitutes had little influence on demand in the movie industry. Rather, it was the supply side of the industry that induced demand.

Getting Closer to Consumer Performance Experience: Research on Performance Experience Components through Online Post Analysis (소비자의 공연 경험에 다가가기 - 온라인 게시글 분석을 통한 공연 경험의 구성요소 탐구 -)

  • In studying culture consumption today, it is essential to understand and analyze the actual visitors' experiences in detail. This is deeply related to the fact that we can utilize subjective experience records that were previously inaccessible as data since plenty of people actually record many performance experiences in the media space such as social media. This study attempts to examine what elements actually consists of people's performance experience based on actual expression of the performance experience that exists online. For this, we collected two types of data. First, we collected posts which required performance recommendation on online platforms such as Jisik-In and Cafes to see how people describe what they want and analyzed data focusing on the modifiers. Results show that people mainly use modifiers that reflect the specific situation of the individual such as companion or age. In addition we analyzed how the experience was described after the show through the review posts of ticket booking site. Results show how expressions are centered around companions, revisit intentions, and viewing experiences besides elements such as story and music, which have been known as main satisfaction elements of performance experience in previous studies. In addition, we discussed the practical implications and limitations of the study as well as the theoretical discussion.

Current Conditions and Students' Perception on Mathematics Exhibition (수학체험전의 실태와 학생들의 인식)

  • The mathematics exhibition gives visitors a special chance to experience mathematics materials through a variety of exhibits. Thus, the study should be carried out by examining the impact on students' perception in the area of mathematics education. This study was conducted based on the three domestic mathematics exhibitions. I carried out the study, with the population of the middle and high school students consisted of 393 attendees and 135 volunteers at the exhibitions, to examine (1) the current condition of exhibitions' operating system and exhibits, (2) the reaction to the exhibits' contents, presentation methods, exhibitions' operating systems, and facilities, and (3) the cognitive and affective effects on the students' perception, engagement, and motivation. From the research-based study, I found more pros on the mathematics exhibition than cons. Therefore, in my opinion, the exhibition's role should be defined as an efficient supplementary method to complement the school curriculum. It is also necessary to develop the appropriate exhibits' contents reflecting the students' levels and needs. The government should provide enough financial supports to various mathematics exhibitions in order to install amenities and facilities for visitors.
