Evaluation of Tourism Development Impacts -A Case Study in Ganhyun Area, Wonjoo, Korea- (관광개발의 영향 평가에 관한 연구 -원주시 간현지역을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose underlying this study is to evaluate tourism development impacts from analyzing residents' and tourists' perceptions. Questionnaire surveys were carried on Kanhyun area in Kangwondo, Korea. Generally, residents in the area perceive positive economic impacts due to tourism development, however levels of employment and economic independence of the locality are perceived low. Sociocultural changes also bring negative aspects in life and residents' awareness of environmental impacts show far more negative. Tourists' satisfaction levels with the area and the management attributes are relatively high. Some suggestions are made based on the result of the survey to help the area to be more successful as a tourist destination. More comprehensive research is needed for the future study.

The Effects of Residents' Negative Tourism Development Impact Perceptions on Their Local Satisfaction and Attitudes toward Development : Focusing on the Moderating Effect of Social Capital (주민의 부정적 관광개발 영향 지각이 지역만족과 개발태도에 미치는 영향 : 사회적 자본의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • This study was focused on the role of social capital as a measure for managing the sustainable growth and development of tourist destinations. Its ultimate objective is to elucidate that social capital is an important tool used to promote the sustainable tourist development, where the tourist development has an effect on the residents' satisfaction with their regions and attitudes toward tourist development, who have lived in tourist destinations. It also verified the moderating effect of social capital on the influencing relationship between perceived negative effects of tourist development and residents' satisfaction with their regions and attitudes toward tourist development, by dividing Yeosu-si, in which over tourism has occurred, in Jeollanam-do into old downtowns and others. An empirical analysis of such effects shows that they are stronger in old downtowns in which tourist development has been concentrated, than in others which deviated from it. This suggests that social capital can be a measure for reducing the negative effects of tourist development or maintaining sustainable development and growth. It is thus necessary to develop and promote a variety of policies reflecting the characteristics of social capital, such as the basic ordinance for activating private-public governance, community clubs, village general assemblies and so forth.

동북아시아 관광동굴의 유형별 분포 특성

  • 관광동굴은 대표적인 자연적관광자원으로서 다른 관광자원과의 차별화된 특성으로 매우 높은 자원적 가치를 가지고 있다. 특히 동북아시아 관광시장의 성장과 관광객 선호도를 고려하여 볼 때 동굴에 대한 개발 가능성은 높은 편이다. 본 연구에서 동북아시아에 분포하고 있는 관광동굴을 조사하고 유형별, 국가별, 지역별 분포특성에 대한 요약은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 관광동굴은 총 116개이며 유형별로는 석회동굴이 가장 많다. 둘째, 국가별 분포를 살펴보면 중국, 일본, 한국 순이며 유형별로는 중국, 한국, 북한은 석회동굴이 많고 일본, 타이완, 홍콩은 해식동굴이 많은 특성이 있다. 우리나라의 경우 현재 내륙의 석회동굴과 제주도의 화산동굴, 해안가의 해식동굴의 관광자원으로 개발되어 있는데 그 외에도 다수의 자연동글이 분포하고 있어 관광개발가능성은 매우 높은 편이다. 관광동굴에 대한 보다 차별화된 개발전략은 내국인관광객 뿐만 아니라 방한 외국인 관광객에게도 훌륭한 관광자원으로 활용될 수 있다. 본 연구는 인터넷 홈페이지 자료에만 의존한 제한점이 있으며 향후 구체적인 통계 데이터와 국가별 관광객형태에 대한 비교분석을 통하여 동굴관광 활성화에 대한 연구가 필요하다.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a plan to promote the tourism of the island by developing the contents of the marine food tourism. Activation of island tourism should begin with developing marine food tourism content. In the viewpoint that the development of marine food tourism content is a priority, previous studies were examined and related cases were analyzed. For this purpose, this study reviewed and analyzed various literature, periodicals, government documents and newspaper articles published in Korea and abroad. As a result of this study, to develop the marine food tourism contents in Korea and to promote the island tourism, it is necessary to develop the marine food tourism contents as representative contents of the island tourism, develop and operate the high value added fusion food tourism product, And the development of marine food tourism products that meet the island tourism paradigm and changes in tourism patterns of tourists.

  • Tourists' needs are changing rapidly and new niche markets, such as nature tourism, eco-tourism, and marine tourism, are flourishing in response to consumer demand. Especially, the estimating demand & supply of manpower in marine tourism is a very important issue for basic tourism HRD policy. This research is focused on the estimation of growing demands of manpower and suggests the method to estimate the proper number of manpower in marine tourism industry.

  • 본 연구는 영월군에 속하고 있는 괴골굴과 주변지역을 대상으로 하여 동굴 내부의 가치성 판단과 개발 타당성의 평가를 하고, 주변지역의 자연, 인문, 문화자원 등을 종합적으로 관련시킨 개발 타당성을 조사함에 목적을 둔다. 이 동굴지역은 영월과 제천지역에 살고 있는 주민들의 휴식 관광지는 물론, 광역적 관광지원으로서 수도권을 비롯한 전국의 관광객을 대상으로 하며, 또한, 국민의 경제성장에 부흥하여 관광객의 증가 추세에 대처 할 수 있는 관광자원으로서의 타당성을 검토하고자 한다. 관광지리학의 연구 동향은 크게 네가지로 구분할 수 있는데, 관광자원에 관한 연구, 관광수요에 관한 연구, 관광객의 인지와 선호에 관한 연구, 관광 개발 및 계획에 관한 연구 등으로 분류할 수 있다. 이러한 분류에 의하면, 본 연구는 네번째의 관광개발에 관련된 논문이라고 볼 수 있다.(중략)

  • The purpose of this study is to development of North Korea tour product. From 10 years ago, Kumgangsan tour started with peace unikorea. But only south korea and north korea is uncertain on political issue also always tour is influenced. Kumgangsan, Gaesung and baekdusan tour is going to renew. So North Korea tour product is continuos of space connection of adjoining land under Kumgangsan, Gaesung and baekdusan tour product.

  • Although many korean cities are getting interested in promoting its attractiveness as a tourism destination, they have little distinguishing attractiveness. In order to reinvigorate competitive urban tourism, developing more charming tourism resources and studying urban contents including its historicity and regionalism regarded as an effective means. By examining old maps therefore, the purpose of this study is to indicate competitive contents of urban tourism focused on the case of Gangneung.

  • The southern coastal area of Korean peninsula maintains unique natural views, social environment and tourism infrastructure. Even though the coastal area has world-class tourism resources and a great potential for development, it was an outsider from the tourism development in Korea. The coast development has recently reemerged because of increased tourism demand in the Northeast Asia, however, increased interest for the outstanding marine tourism resources and the marine culture, improvement of accessibility to the coast Considering these characteristics, the southern coastal area will be grown to a marine resort-belt, which will serve as a marine tourism hub in the Northeast. In the long run, it can be developed for leisure residential space with environment-friendly well-being fashion, new growing area that continuously drives the local development and area for a mutual development between Yeongnam and Honam Region. To accomplish this vision, several strategic matters should be resolved. Mall strategic issues are as follows: the loosening related rules and regulations that limit the development, legislation of a special law for tourism promotion, supporting for investment in public service and strategic investment, establishment of a marine tourism route connecting China-Korea-Japan, formulating new planning for Hallyo-Haesang Marine Park, designation of special marine tourism development zone, and invitation of the World Expo 2012.

  • The travel pattern of tourists for the development of the tourist course is designed to collect and analyze tourist information based on the big data of the carrier to improve the quality of the tourist course. In particular, the analyzed data is used to derive empirical data that can estimate the effect of tourists' inflow into tourism, and to utilize the information as basic data for the development of the tourist course. In addition, the travel pattern of tourists for the development of regional tourism courses is to collect and analyze information on the route and duration of tourists' travel based on big data collected by telecom operators, credit card companies and other data to improve the quality of tourist course development, and to derive empirical data to estimate the effect of tourist inflow through the analyzed data, based on the characteristics of the tourism course and the data needed for the development of new tourist courses in the future.
