Geovisualization of Coastal Ocean Model Data Using Web Services and Smartphone Apps (웹서비스와 스마트폰앱을 이용한 연안해양모델 예측자료의 시각화시스템 구현)

  • Ocean leisure sports have recently emerged as one of so-called blue ocean industries. They are sensitive to diverse environmental conditions such as current, temperature, and salinity, which can increase needs of forecasting data as well as in-situ observations for the ocean. In this context, a Web-based geovisualization system for coastal information produced by model forecasts was implemented for use in supporting various ocean activities. First, FVCOM(Finite Volume Coastal Ocean Model) was selected as a forecasting model, and its data was preprocessed by a spatial interpolation and sampling library. The interpolated raster data for water surface elevation, temperature, and salinity were stored in image files, and the vector data for currents including speed and direction were imported into a distributed DBMS(Database Management System). Web services in REST(Representational State Transfer) API(Application Programming Interface) were composed using Spring Framework and integrated with desktop and mobile applications developed on the basis of hybrid structure, which can realize a cross-platform environment for geovisualization.

The Generalization of the Area of Internal Triangles for the GSP Use of Mathematically Gifted Students (중등 영재학생들의 GSP를 활용한 내분삼각형 넓이의 일반화)

  • This study investigates how the GSP helps gifted and talented students understand geometric principles and concepts during the inquiry process in the generalization of the internal triangle, and how the students logically proceeded to visualize the content during the process of generalization. Four mathematically gifted students were chosen for the study. They investigated the pattern between the area of the original triangle and the area of the internal triangle with the ratio of each sides on m:n respectively. Digital audio, video and written data were collected and analyzed. From the analysis the researcher found four results. First, the visualization used the GSP helps the students to understand the geometric principles and concepts intuitively. Second, the GSP helps the students to develop their inductive reasoning skills by proving the various cases. Third, the lessons used GSP increases interest in apathetic students and improves their mathematical communication and self-efficiency.

  • This study seeks to explore the method of imagination through creative new thinking in cultural heritage education and the most effective model of education in education. Research methods were organized by the methods of reviewing literature, browsing the Internet, and comparative analysis of prior research. We hope to realize the need for differentiated Korean cultural heritage and make efforts to incorporate our identity in the design. In the process of visualizing information, the focus should be on identifying the structure, characteristics, and the correlation between pattern and trend analysis, and the heterogeneity analysis, and should be made with the characteristics considered. Texting, graphics, sound, animation, lighting, and Navigation are often used as the expressive elements of information visualization for educational models. To facilitate the understanding of learners, accurate information transmission visuals should be presented. To do so, the use of infographic can be the answer. It is necessary to develop appropriate multimedia visual data, such as the use of infographic to be applied, and to develop various infographic multimedia visuals. These work should not be merely a research dimension, but should be carried out with the aim of helping develop actual cultural heritage educational content.

  • 최근 디지털 교과서를 중심으로 교육 인프라가 전환되었다. 본 연구는 디지털 교과서의 상용화와 맞춤형 교육을 제공하기 위해 가상현실 기반 맞춤형 언어학습 시스템을 제안하였다. VR 에서 말하기, 듣기, 쓰기의 상호작용이 가능한 시스템을 구현하였고 자기주도적 맞춤형 학습이 가능하도록 학습요소를 시각화 하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 자기주도적 맞춤형 학습이 가능해짐에 따라 코로나-19 로 인해 양극화된 교육 격차의 해소가 가능할 것이다.

  • A computer clock has limits in accuracy and precision affected by its inherent instability, the environment elements, the modification of users, and errors of the system. So the computer clock needs to be synchronized with a standard clock if the computer system requires the precise time processing. The purpose of synchronizing clocks is to provide a global time base throughout a distributed system. Once this time base exists, transactions among members of distributed system can be controlled based on time. This paper discusses the integrated approach to clock synchronization. An embedded system is considered for time synchronization based on the GPS(Global Positioning System) referenced time distribution model. The system uses GPS as standard reference time source and offers UTC(Universal Time Coordinated) through NTP(Network Time Protocol). A clock model is designed and adapted to keep stable time and to provide accurate standard time with precise resolution. Private MIB(Management Information Base) is defined for network management. Implementation results and performance analysis are also presented.

Critical Reconstruction of The Korean Science Culture (한국 과학문화의 비판적 재구성)

  • This paper makes a preparatory attempt to reconstruct 'the Korean Science Culture' toward which I think the Koreans should direct and orient themselves rather than describe the history of the science culture in Korea. This task requires us to define 'science culture.' So I propose, based on the definitions of science culture so far made, to consider the model of 'Humanized Science Culture' as a regulating ideal of the Korean Science Culture. To support the model, analyzing the concept of 'science literacy' of the 2061 Project, I posit the model of KDSC (Korean Designer of Science Culture) as the Koreans who will actually come to design the Korean Science Culture. KDSC refers to 'a reasonable man' who will represent a desirable Korean, rather than to a natural Korean. Then I spell out the conditions of becoming a KDSC and scrutinize the philosophical backbones of those conditions. Finally, I make a few suggestions for developing a program of designing and implementing the Korean Science Culture from the viewpoint of a model of KDSC.

  • This paper introduces the futsal video analysis system consisting of an analysis program using object tracking technology and a web server that visualizes and provides analyzed data. In this paper, small and medium-sized organizations and amateur players are unable to provide game analysis services, so they propose a system that can solve this problem through this paper. Existing analytical systems use special devices or high-cost cameras, making them difficult for users to use. Thus, in this paper, a system is designed and developed to analyze the competitors' competitions and visualize the data using flat images only. Track an object and calculate the accumulated values to obtain the distance per pixel of the object and extract speed-related data and distance-based data based on it. Converts extracted data to graphs and images through a visualization library, making it convenient to use through web pages. Through this analysis system, we improve the problems of the existing analysis system and make data-based scientific and efficient analysis available.

  • 공동 활용 GPU 클러스터 시스템은 PBS, SLURM과 같은 작업 배치 스케줄러 및 Kubernetes, Openstack과 같은 클라우드 플랫폼 소프트웨어를 통해 다수의 사용자에게 공동 활용 서비스를 할 수 있다. 한국과학기술정보연구원(KISTI)에서는 슈퍼컴퓨터 5호기의 보조시스템인 뉴론을 SLURM 배치 스케줄러를 통해 다수의 연구자들에게 서비스하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 작업 배치 스케줄러에서 생성된 과금 통계 데이터를 R의 그래프 함수를 이용해 시각화하여 사용자 작업의 특성을 분석하고 효율적인 계산 자원 관리 정책을 수립할 수 있는 방안에 대해 논의한다.

  • 최근 인공지능 및 빅데이터 연구가 대두되면서 슈퍼컴퓨터와 같은 고성능컴퓨터를 이용하여 다양한 연구환경을 제공할 수 있어야 한다는 요구가 증가하고 있다. 이에 한국과학기술정보연구원(KISTI)에서는 슈퍼컴퓨터 등 고성능컴퓨터를 인프라로 활용하는 KI(KISTI Intelligent) Cloud를 개발하여 서비스하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 KI Cloud의 모니터링 기능의 설계 및 구현 방법을 기술하였다. KI Cloud는 다양한 자원으로부터 데이터를 효율적으로 수집하고, 데이터를 시각화할 수 있는 오픈소스인 Prometheus와 Grafana를 이용하여 모니터링 기능을 개발하였다.

An Exploration of Principles for Practice and Application of Science Education in Inclusive Education Settings (통합교육 환경에서 과학교육의 실천 원리와 적용 가능성 탐색)

  • In this study, we explored the meaning of science education in an inclusive education setting tram the view of the epistemological approach, and discussed the principles and theories for constructing an educational program. Also, we explored the possibility of inclusive education in science education by suggesting principles for practice: accommodating science curriculum macroscopically, adapting science curriculum microscopically, considering diversity in science instruction, sharing the differences in science teaching and learning, and restructuring the assessment system in science education. We also reviewed the case on learning basic concepts in optics for the visually impaired according to the principles discussed. In conclusion, we discussed the considerations for the practice of inclusive education in science education and inferred further research problems.
