The Effects of Consumer Value Cognition on Benefits and Attributes of Culture-Art Products (문화예술상품 소비자의 가치인식이 추구혜택과 상품속성에 미치는 영향)

  • Today's consumers perceive consumption as a representation of themselves. It is not simply an act that fulfills a consumer's physical and practical needs. Even in terms of life quality, consumers increasingly want to achieve an emotional and sensible experience through consumption. Consumers now make decisions based on their need to express their position in relation to other people, pursue emotional satisfaction, and try to improve the quality of life. Culture-art products that meet such internal and external demands of consumers have made significant improvements in both quantity and quality, because of the social interest and policy support. The recognition of personal and social values of culture and arts has brought about interest in and need for culture-art products. Businesses have agilely embraced such change and actively implemented various marketing strategies utilizing culture and arts. For example, businesses began to sponsor artists who produce culture-art products while building facilities for cultural and art performances or exhibitions. Businesses have also provided performances and exhibitions free-of-charge or at affordable prices. As a result, the supply in the market has started to exceed its demand as is often the case in many of other markets. However, such imbalance has occurred not because of over-supply but because of a lack of demand. Given these circumstances, the government and culture and art related organizations, which had mainly concentrated on the supply side, started to recognize the importance of creating personal and social values in culture and arts. As a result, the government and various organizations are now creating various strategies that include policy measures to achieve their new found goal. Unfortunately however, such efforts are not meeting the expectations. Focusing on above-mentioned circumstances and problems, this study aims to find measures to create demand for culture-art products in the internal conditions of those who consume culture-art products. In other words, given that the demand for culture-art products has not increased despite all external conditions to encourage consumption, this study aims to find the reasons in consumers' value judgment on culture-art products. Though there were recent studies on culture-art products that applied consumer behavior on marketing theories, most of them focused on peripheral aspects such as people's motivation for or satisfaction from watching culture-art events. Hence, there is a need to understand what kind of value consumers perceive from culture-art products and how such value cognition leads to consumption in a comprehensive manner. This study acts as follow-up to a separate study entitled "Qualitative Study about Value Cognition and Benefits of Consumer on Culture-Art Products". The current study aims to extend practical implications that enhance the effectiveness of marketing strategies among the producing and policy agencies in the industry. The purpose of this study is to investigate dimensions of value cognition, benefits and attributes of culture-art products, and identify the effects of consumer value cognition on benefits and attributes. The questionnaire was developed based on the conceptual structure of qualitative research and previous researches. It was composed of value cognition, benefits, attributes of culture-art products and demographic variables. This survey was conducted on-line and off-line among a total of 662 persons ranging from their teens to their 50's who were living in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, various metropolitan cities, and small and medium-sized cities. The data collected was analyzed by factor analysis and path analysis using SPSS WIN 18.0 and AMOS 16.0. This empirical study found that the dimensions of value cognition of culture-art products were categorized into personal goods, aesthetic goods and public property. This shows that the consumers perceive culture-art products as products that are worthy enough to pay the costs not just for personal benefits but also for their social values. Also the formation of value cognition for culture-art products requires special conditions unlike that for physical consumer goods and services, which simply require marketing stimuli. The dimensions of benefits pursued by consuming culture-art products were found to be composed of four types - pursuit of aesthetic benefits, pursuit of actual benefits, pursuit of emotional benefits, and pursuit of conspicuous character. This result implies that people consume culture-art products not just to pursue pleasure from emotional and intelligent satisfaction as well as social relations, but also to seek the needs and benefits embodied at a social level. The dimensions of attributes of culture-art products had seven different factors, - environmental, price, evaluation, people, artwork, composition, and personal relations - which is plentiful. This is because the attributes of culture-art products are very complicated compared to other consumer goods or services. Since culture-art products include not just cultural or artistic works but also all physical, human, environmental, and systemic elements of the products in a comprehensive manner, consumers perceive everything they experience in the process of consuming culture-art products as part of the products. The dimensions of value cognition was found to affect attributes of the products, mostly using pursued benefits as a mediating factors. This result is consistent with the result of qualitative research, and proves that applying the means-end chain theory in the reverse direction is reasonable. The result can be interpreted that consumers' value cognitions for culture-art products turns into actual benefits leading to consumers' decisions. Furthermore, this result reveals that when consumers choose culture-art products, they take into account the attributes of culture-art products depending on the benefits they pursue. These results confirm that despite their conceptual and abstract attributes, culture-art products have values that contribute to actual benefits for individual consumers and society. Hence, value cognition generates benefits to be pursued and this in turn affects the consumers' choices of attributes on products. Based on the conceptual structure of consumers' value cognitions on culture-art products and its dimensions, it is possible to find detailed methods to provide opportunities for education and training to form and reinforce positive value cognition on culture-art products. And through those methods, it will be possible to develop attributes of culture-art products according to the dimensions of pursued benefits, and allow conceptual products become the subject to valuable consumption in real life. These results provide theoretical understanding of consumer behavior in culture marketing and useful information to culture-art producers, companies that use culture and art, and government agencies that use culture-art as a mean to improve the public perception of quality of life. As a follow up on this study, there should be experimental studies that can develop criteria visualizing the demands of consumers who purchase culture-art products and identify their detailed attributes. Studies that compare characteristics of different areas within the culture-art product category and in-depth studies on a specific area or genre will also be needed. In order to develop marketing strategies for culture-art products, studies on the formation and reinforcement of positive value cognition on culture-art products and education for the development of consumer demand as well as on the development and differentiation of attributes of culture-art products depending on types of consumer groups should also follow.

The pedagogical Idea and its Development in the Gradute School Ulm (울름조형대학의 교육이념과 그 발전과정)

  • 50년대에 급속한 경제성장을 이룩한 서독은 수출증대를 위하여 대량생산제품의 개발을 통한 국제경쟁력 강화를 꾀하였다. 여기에서 디자인이 제품의 질적 요소로서 그리고 판매증진의 요소로서 이해됨으로써, 제품개발을 위한 디자인의 개발이 강하게 요구되고, 또한 디자이너 양성을 위한 대학의 필요성이 대두되었다. 이러한 사회적 요구에 힘입어, 울름 조형대학은 '53년 8월 그 문을 열게 되었다. 설립초기에서부터 이 대학이 가장 중요하게 내세운 것은 바우하우스의 계승이었다. 그러나 초대 학장 막스 빌의 현대예술 중심적 디자인 관과 바우하우스 교수법을 그대로 답습하는 기초교육과정은 - 과학적으로 객관화된 디자인을“정치적”으로 정립하고자 - 바우하우스 이념을 계승하여 새로운 사회건설을 지향하는 젊은 강사들과 대립되는 것이었다. '55년 토마스 말도나도가 학장직을 대행하면서부터, 과학과목들의 도입과 더불어 바우하우스 계승의 길이 새롭게 모색되기 시작하였다. 그러나 디자인의 과학화 과정에서 과학기술을 맹신적으로 따르는 기술교조주의라는 문제에 즉면 하게 되고, 디자인에서의 과학기술을 사회적으로 재정립하기 위한 방향이 모색된다. 이로부터 인본주의적 인공환경의 건설을 지향하는 사회적 디자인, 즉“환경디자인 Umweltgestaltung”개념이 개발되고, 이의 과학적 방법론이 연구되었다. 결국,“환경디자인”은 울름 조형대학이 궁극적으로 추구한 불변의 이상향이 되었고, 이의 실천을 위한 기본 방법은“유닛시스템디자인Unit System Design(Baukasten-Systemdesign)”이었다. 이와 같이 울름 조형대학은 바우하우스의 계승이라는 대 명제 하에 인본 적으로 객관화된 과학적 디자인 개발에 일관된 노력을 기울였다. 그러나 여기에서 나타난 - 후기산업사회의 인간 중심적 발전을 목적으로 새로이 정립된 - 인본주의라는“정치성”으로 인하여, 결국 '68년 9월 30일 그 문을 닫게 되었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 컴퓨팅 집약적인 현대와 미래 사회를 대비하기 위한 컴퓨터 교육의 목표를 계산적 사고 및 이를 바탕으로 한 협력적 문제 해결 능력의 향상으로 보고 이를 실현하기 위한 컴퓨터 교육의 전망과 과제를 제시하였다. 계산적 사고 향상을 위한 컴퓨터 교육은 컴퓨터과학을 전공하는 학습자 뿐 아니라 모든 학습자를 대상으로 이루어져야 하며 이를 위해 초 중등학교 컴퓨터 교육과정의 체계적인 개선 및 계산적 사고를 바탕으로 한 간학문적 융합 학습 활동의 설계 및 평가 전략의 개발이 요구된다. 또한 여학생, 특수교육대상 학생과 같은 정보 소외 계층 학습자들의 컴퓨터과학에 대한 관심과 참여를 조장하고 협력적 문제 해결 활동을 지원하기 위한 학습 환경을 제시하여야 한다. 따라서 이러한 과제를 해결하기 위한 새로운 접근으로 예술과 컴퓨터과학의 융합 교육 활동인 E-Textiles 프로젝트의 특성과 연구 동향, 국내 적용 방안을 제시하였다.

  • 본 논문은 딥러닝과 핸드 제스처, 미디어 파이프를 이용하여 비접촉식 키오스크를 만들어 (코로나19로 인한) 감염병 예방 및 대형마트에서 원하는 물건을 검색 후 편리한 구매를 위해 구현한 내용을 다룬다. 단순한 핸드 제스처 인식만을 이용한 것이 아니라 그림을 그리는 비접촉 제스처 인식을 더해 하나의 예술로써 제스처 인식을 더 많이 사용하고자 했다. 또한 하나의 손가락으로 그림을 그리는 것이 아닌 주먹을 쥐었을 때 그 중심을 인식해 그림을 그리는 방법을 이용해 기존의 방법보다 더 안정감 있게 그릴 수 있게 구현하였다. 현실에서 사용하기 위해 세부적인 기능들은 학습을 통해 기존보다 정확도가 향상된 미디어 파이프를 이용하였다. 빠른 처리 속도와 정확성에 초점을 두는 것이 아닌 하나의 미디어 아트로써 키오스크를 설계하였다.

  • 본 연구는 색, 색감, 색의 조화론 등 예술과 감성으로만 다루어지던 전문 분야의 내용을 과학적인 방법으로 해석하고, 계산해 낼 수 있는 연구들에 대한 관련 연구들의 동향을 분석하고, 정량적인 색의 조화 및 매치의 판단 방법을 제안한다. 이때, 과학적인 방법이란, 수치와 컴퓨터과학을 사용하여 색의 조화 이론을 체계화하여 빠르게 처리하는 근원적인 방법으로 정의한다. 또한, 색의 정량화를 위하여 기존의 대표적인 색채계들의 특징 및 성격을 분석하며 이를 통해 색채계에 기반하여 색을 수치화 한다. 색의 조화 및 매치에 대한 정량적 판단은 컴퓨터를 사용하는 일반 사용자들의 색과 색감을 향상시킬 뿐만 아니라, 시각, 영상, 산업 디자인에의 효과적 적용, 색을 통한 정신적 분석 및 치유, 색감 향상 교육, 유사색및 유사디자인 검색, 개인 맞춤형 색채 마케팅 등 다양한 분야에 활용될 수 있다.

  • 인물의 행동 및 이동을 인식하는 것은 다양한 분야에서 활용될 수 있다. 사람의 행동을 파악하여 니즈를 예상하고 맞춤형 콘텐츠를 제공하거나 행동을 예측하여 범죄나 폭력을 예방하는 등 여러 방면으로 활용 가능하다. 그러나 이동과 현재 위치 정보만으로 인물의 행동을 예측하기에는 한계가 있다. 본 논문에서는 실시간으로 사람의 이동과 행동을 인식하기 위해 Kinect v2가 제공하는 관절 정보와 YOLOv3를 이용하여 실시간으로 사람의 행동을 인식하는 시스템을 제작하였다.

Media-Aesthetical approach to the Computer-based Layer (컴퓨터 기반의 레이어(layer)에 대한 매체미학적 분석)

  • The recent aesthetical argument has been focusing on the interrelation between art and media. Now media is a kind of creative activity and dynamic factor which comprises aesthetic perception in itself compared to that of the past linear thingking era that was just a means of proving presence. Norbert Bolz, a leading media-aesthetician, puts the emphasis on the transformation of image, not the its dupe. He urges that this artistic form does not deliver the image of object, but means the objectless image itself. Therefore creativity is caused by an effect of a optional technic in the stage of technological environment where is under the control of the non-linear thingking system. In this context, this essay investigates to confirm the above mentioned aestheical views by analyzing the computer based layer as an detailed example, and to illuminate the designers creative activity where is deemed to be under its radical influence. Therefore it can be dedicated to the extension of the theoretical background in design, bridging between two practices accor ding to the Bolz's notion that the new aesthetical concept should be accompanied by ' the Design Science ', that is centered on the new media.

  • Due to the of evolution of digital technology, trends are moving toward personalization and customization in design (art), media, science. Existing mass media has been broadcasting to the general public due to technical and economic limitation and art works also communicate one-sidedly with spectators in the gallery or stage. But nowaday, it is possible for spectators to participate directly. We can make different products depending on the tastes of individuals who demand media or art. The essence of technology which makes it possible is 'interactive technology'. A goal of this research is to find out the true nature of the interactive design in multimedia contents and find the course of interactive communication design research. In this paper, we pass through two stages to solve this kind of problem. At first, we studied the concept of multimedia contents from the aspect of information revolution. Next, we decided our research topic to be 'visual reacting with audio' and made audio-visual art work as graphic designers. Through this research we can find the possibility to promote 'communication' in a broad sense, with appropriate interactive design.

  • Today, the city greatly increase the interest in the night, increasing the importance of building and landscape lighting is a trend. Landscape lighting and a combination of factors, especially the media has been expanding in the domestic media facade. The facade of the building for the implementation of the screen to install the LED, or are projecting the image through the projector. The facade of this study present a paradigm shift in traditional media based on interactive and works by combining the artistry of the item type, art, colors, patterns, and interactions were drawn into 5 main topics.   • The purpose of this study is to develop students' creativity and artistic sensitivity by developing a convergence education program that links various subjects, including mathematics, science, and art based on design. Design is done in almost every human activity that pursues beauty and implements cultural value through patterns and images. We have developed three programs for elementary school students and two programs for middle school students, taking into consideration the achievement standards and curriculum content appropriate for the 2015 revised curriculum. It was assessed by a panel of five educational experts during the development and demonstration courses to evaluate the feasibility of the development program. The development program can enhance the design literacy and design sense of elementary and junior high school students and can be used convergent educational contents that can be applied in the free-semester system activities of junior high school. Through this program, adolescents who will lead the future design society will be able to acquire the sense of design, literacy, and design ability as design consumers and producers.
