신경회로망을 이용한 다층장갑의 방호성능 예측 (A Terminal Ballistic Performance Prediction of Multi-Layer Armor with Neural Network)

  • For a design of multi-layer armor, the extensive full scale or sub-scale penetration test data are required. In generally, the collection of penetration data is in need of time-consuming and expensive processes. However, the application of numerical or analytical method is very limited due to poor understanding about penetration mechanics. In this paper, we have developed a neural network analyzer which can be used as a design tool for a new armor. Calculation results show that the developed neural network analyzer can predict relatively exact penetration depth of a new armor through the effective analysis of the pre-existing penetration database.

예측필터를 이용한 확장칼만필터 고장검출 및 SDINS에의 적용 (Fault Detection for Extended Kalman Filter Using a Predictor and Its Application to SDINS)

  • In this paper, a new fault detection method for the extended Kalman filter, which uses a N-step predictor, is proposed. The N-step predictor performs the only time propagations for N-step intervals without measurement updates and its output is used as a monitoring signal for the fault detection. A consistency between the extended Kalman filter and the N-step predictor is tested to detect a fault. A test statistic is defined by the difference between the extended Kalman filter and the N-step predictor. The proposed method is applied to strapdown inertial navigation system (SDINS). By computer simulation, it is shown that the proposed method detects a fault effectively.

VHF 데이터통신 통달거리 예측 연구 (A Study on Estimation of VHF Datalink Range)

  • An Estimation of VHF datalink range for EW(Electronic Warfare) equipment in the sea environment was studied to predict the datalink range between transmitting and receiving station. We consider refraction and reflection in addition to the basic radar equation. The reflection especially includes propagation factor in case of spherical earth as well as flat earth. The estimation result can predict the real datalink range within 5% error.

  • LYNX ESM has not only ESM function but Datalink function. The LYNX boarded equipment Interface and Channel coding is needed for LYNX Datalink to support the mother ship with tactical data included threat radar analysis data of LYNX ESM, navigation data, Radar and Sonar of LYNX. The interface of loaded equipments are various protocol like as ARINC419/429, RS232, Synchro, Sync Serial. The Channel coding of Convolution-Scrambler-Interleaver-Bit Stuffing is applied for recovering the transmission data mixed with propagation errors in sea environment.

표적 가림 예측에 의한 기억추적 알고리즘 개발 및 구현 (Design of Autocoast Tracking Algorithm by the Prediction of Target Occlusion and its On-Based Implementation)

  • In this paper, the Autocoast algorithm is proposed for EOTS to overcome the target occlusion status. Coast mode, one of tracking modes, is to maintain the servo slew rate with the tracking rate right before the loss of track. The Autocoast algorithm makes decision of entering coast mode by the prediction of target occlusion and tries to refind target after the coast time. This algorithm composes of 3 steps, the first step is the prediction process of the occlusion by target-like background, the second one is the check process of the occlusion happened after background intensity variation, and the last one is the process of refinding target. The result of computer simulation, test under laboratory, and real test with EOTS shows the applicability for the automatic video tracking system.

분산도 분석에 의한 총열 잔여수명 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Prediction of the Remaining Life of the Barrel in Small Arms using Analyzing Dispersion)

  • This paper includes that there is the way to make the prediction of the remaining life of the barrel in small arms using analyzing dispersion. There are some ways to know the period to change the barrel such as the method of detecting the inner surface directly or inspecting the scratch using the optical sensor. However, it is a more easy way to check the dispersion for soldiers and the directors in a logistics command. Therefore, this study is conducted to focusing on the relation between firing round and dispersion. And the simple equation experimentally derives from pre-tests and analyses. Also, this equation is confirmed through the firing tests during the period of developing K11. In that sense, it can be easily applied to know the period of changing the barrel of small arms in the field army.

유한요소법을 이용한 궤도용 고무패드의 마모 예측 및 설계에 관한 연구 (Design Study on the Wear Enhanced of Rubber Pad of Track Assembly with Finite Element Method)

  • In this paper, we have proposed a wear growth prediction method on the surface of rubber pad of track assembly installed in high-speed battle tank i.e. the automatic model updating code interfacing with commercial finite element simulation software. Also, simple and resonable geometrical, material finite element model was established to be easily updated based on the empirical threshold value of contact pressure on the contact surface. From the iterative model update and analysis results, we discovered a weak point on rubber pad surface and suggested a new design concept for improving the wear performance of track assembly.

목표색상 재현을 위한 페인트 안료 배합비율의 예측 (Recipe Prediction of Colorant Proportion for Target Color Reproduction)

  • For recipe prediction of colorant proportion showing nonlinear behavior, we modeled the effects of colorant proportion of basic colors on the target colors and predicted colorant proportion necessary for making target colors. First, colorant proportion of basic colors and color information indicated by the instrument was applied by a linear model and a multi-layer perceptrons model with back-propagation learning method. However, satisfactory results were not obtained because of nonlinear property of colors. Thus, in this study the neuro-fuzzy model with merit of artificial neural networks and fuzzy systems was presented. The proposed model was trained with test data and colorant proportion was predicted. The effectiveness of the proposed model was verified by evaluation of color difference(${\Delta}E$).

용매 극성도의 이론적 예측 연구 (An ab Initio Predictive Study on Solvent Polarity)

  • We investigated molecular polarity by using theoretical means and comparing empirical solvent polarity. Our approach employed electrostatic potentials at the molecular surface calculated by density functional methods. A number of molecular descriptors related to molecular polarities were computed from molecular surface electrostatic potentials. Among computed molecular descriptors, the most positive electrostatic potential provided the best correlation with the empirical solvent polarities. A regression equation was developed in order to predict molecular polarities of molecules whose experimental solvent polarities were unknown. The new regression equations were utilized in estimating solvent polarities of cubane derivatives which are considered important precusors of high-energy density meterials.

  • This paper presents the features of an impact angle constrained open-loop optimal trajectory which is given by a function of initial conditions and optimal guidance gains. Using missile motion described by linearized kinematic equations and a proper form of performance index, an inverse optimal problem is suggested to investigate the gains related to the performance index. The flight trajectory and time-to-go can be shaped in terms of the optimal guidance gains. The results are evaluated by 3-DOF simulation.
