A Study on Development of Achievement Standards and Assessment Standards of Vocational Inquiry Section for 2005 College Scholastic Ability Test - Focus on Food and Nutrition Subject in the Field of Home Economics Order - (2005 수능 직업탐구영역의 과목별 성취기준과 평가기준 개발 - 식품과 영양 과목을 중심으로 -)

  • This study attempted, in accordance with the National Educational Curriculum, to develop achievement assessment standards for a course within the field of home economics which has been widely adopted by Korean vocational high schools, namely, the food and nutrition subject. Focus was also placed on strengthening the management of the curriculum for this food and nutrition course, as well as on establishing proper assessment standards by developing model assessment tools which can be used to assess the subject. The results of this study can be summarized as follows : First, based on an analysis of the related literature and materials. the desired notion of the achievement and assessment standards was established, and their significance ascertained the achievement and assessment standards for the food and nutrition course were set and the type of model assessment tool which should be developed, as well as the method in which it should be applied. was established Second. by analyzing the curriculums and the contents of the textbooks used in the food and nutrition subject, the researcher was able to compile the 70 factors which could to be used to develop the achievement and assessments standards, and then classify these into 6 main categories and 32 sub-categories. Based on the characteristics of these factors and learners' academic performance levels the number of factors was expanded to 89 in order to establish the achievement standards. In turn, these achievement standards were used, in accordance with the learners' achievement and teaming activity levels, to develop three different levels of assessment standards. namely, upper, middle, and lower ones. Third. a model assessment tool was developed which could be used by individual school units as a reference in terms of achievement and assessment standards, and that could be modified to meet each school's circumstances. In order to create the model assessment tool a 100-question questionnaire was formulated that contained various types of questions, such as essay, report, theoretical and practical, portfolio, as well as multiple choice-type questions. Lastly, the researcher introduced measures to effectively use the achievement and assessment standards developed for the food and nutrition course, as well as the model assessment tool in school units.

Analysis of Vocational High School Learners' Misconceptions on the Time-Efficiency of Algorithms (전문계 고등학교 학습자의 알고리즘 시간효율성에 관한 오개념 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore vocational high school students' understanding levels and misconceptions regarding the time-efficiency of algorithms. In this study, a questionnaire with nine questions was developed. The questionnaire is base on three misconceptions about the time-efficiency of algorithms that are examined through prior studies. The questionnaire was applied to 51 students who completed a programming course. The result shows that the students didn't sufficiently understand the concept of time-efficiency of algorithms and several common misconceptions appeared repeatedly. Finally, teaching strategies using simulation and assesment framework for algorithm's time-efficiency were presented and some recommendations were suggested for refining the curriculum relating computer programming and algorithms.

  • This study is a recognition type study on the usefulness of the field-practice program conducted by departments related to eating out and cooking. The purpose of this study is to derive the common types found among students who have experienced on-the-job training in special cases where the completion of on-the-job training programs, such as the Department of Culinary Arts and Engineering, are designated as graduation requirements and major required courses. By analyzing, we will explore and analyze the factors and issues that can affect the program participation process. As a result of recognition type analysis, a total of four types were derived, and each type was named according to its specificity as follows. Type 1 (N = 8): Sense of Purpose Setting type, Type 2 (N = 8): Interaction Skill Acquisition Types, Type 3 (N = 6): Major Practice Education Enlargement Type, Type 4 (N = 6): The Field Adaptability Improvement Type was analyzed for each unique feature type. Based on the results, it is suggested that efforts to systematize the field practice regulations, improve the government's field practice system plans, and discover new industries to provide opportunities for cultivating practical skills by supplementing the problems of the field practice regulations.

A Comparison between High School Students' Algorithmic Problem Solving and Conceptual Understanding by Types of Chemistry Problems (화학 문제 유형에 따른 고등학교 학생들의 수리 문제 해결력과 개념 이해도 비교)

  • We compared algorithmic problem solving and conceptual understanding of chemistry with three types (algorithmic, pictorial- and wordy-formatted conceptual) of problems. The familiarity, confidence, and preference to the three type of problems were also examined. The chemistry problem solving ability test was administered to 228 students from two top high schools in the province of Gyeonggi who were preparing the chemistry examination among the four optional subjects (biology, chemistry, earth science, physics) for enter university. After administrating the chemistry problem solving ability test, the degree of familiarity to some problems and the degree of confidence of their answers in a Likert scale were asked to the students. Besides, the students were asked to place preference to the type of problems in order. The students scored better on the algorithmic problems than on the conceptual problems (pictorial and wordy problems), and were also most familiar with the algorithmic problems. The students were more confident of their answers on both of types pictorial and algorithmic problems, and preferred pictorial problems rather than both of types algorithmic and wordy problems.

A Study of High School Students' Conceptions of Mixing Phenomena Related to Dissolution and Diffusion (용해.확산과 관련된 혼합현상에 대한 고등학생들의 개념 유형 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the types of conceptions of mixing phenomena related to dissolution and diffusion in high school students. The subjects of the investigation consisted of 108 students who took chemistry I course at 11th grade and 29 students who took chemistry II course at 12th grade. For this study, it was found that the many students had the alternative conception that chalk didn't dissolve in water because chalk was a nonpolar material. Most of the students understood the phenomena which carbon tetrachloride and water will not mix as the attraction conception. But many of the other students understood the phenomenon as characteristic of the materials such as difference of density. Many of the students understood the phenomenon of mixing ethanol and water constantly as ‘Attraction conception'. The phenomenon which is mixed ink and water was just accepted by the most students as the spreading of ink in water without understanding the reason of mixing. The phenomena of mixing iodine and carbon tetrachloride was understood as ‘Space conception' or ‘Attraction conception'. It could be inferred that the diverse alternative conceptions related to dissolution and diffusion phenomena were generated by the absence of entropy concept. Therefore, the explanations of science textbooks related to dissolution and diffusion phenomena need to change for students to understand them correctly.

Pedagogy of E-Learning in Engineering Classes Using Multimedia Contents: Case of K University (멀티미디어 콘텐츠 기반의 공과대학 이러닝 교수법 연구: K대학 사례)

  • Whether the engineering department of universities employs ideal usage of e-learning or not needs to be investigated as many engineering departments diversify the use of the e-learning elements for educational purpose. Applying the teaching and learning methods and characteristics would lead to better strategies which are applied to development of contents and deployment of the e-learning courses. This study examines the characteristics and approaches of the usage of e-learning elements used by some instructors who use multimedia contents in offline teaching and learning environment. The results of this study shows that the e-learning elements assist the face-to-face course and the interactions are manifested in the classroom rather than in online setting. Lecture, hands-on-practice, simulation, and PBL(Problem-based learning) are turned out to be the major teaching and learning methods. This study signifies the need for use of various teaching and learning methods by the instructors and provision of PBL environment.

  • The Paper Using the meta-analysis research method, first through literature retrieval to obtain 23 relevant empirical studies in China, and then using Review Manager for quantitative analysis, it is found that VR technology has a positive impact on students' overall learning effect and VR technology has a significant positive impact on all dimensions of learning effect (theoretical performance, operational performance, learning motivation, learning interest, learning attitude). There is no significant difference between the dimensions. Significant differences were found for moderating variables such as Discipline types, Teaching Length, and Teaching Method. No significant differences were found for the Academic segments and VR technology types.

Eye Tracking Analysis for High School Students' Learning Styles in the Process of Solving on Earth Science I (지구과학 I 문제 해결 과정에서 나타난 학습유형에 따른 고등학생의 시선 추적 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analysis eye tracking for high school students' learning styles in the process of solving in the behavioral domains of the College Scholastic Ability Test on Earth Science I. The subjects of this study were 50 students from two classes out of 4 classes in E high school in Chungcheong province. Among them, we conducted experiments by randomly sampling 2 students of each type of learning based on the criteria that they had not encountered the problem of Earth Science I from the past two years. The findings indicate that the item correctness rate of divergers, assimilators, convergers, and accommodators were higher in the knowledge domain, application domain, knowledge-understanding domain, and understanding domain. This confirms that there is a difference among the four learning styles in the level of achievement according to the behavioral areas of the assessment questions. The latter finding was that the high eye-share of AOI 2 appeared higher than AOI 1, 3, 4 in the course of solving the problems. This is because the four types of learners pay more careful attention to the AOI 2 area, which is the cue-or-information area of problem solving, that is, the Table, Figure, and Graph area. Therefore, in order to secure the fairness and objectivity of the selection, it is necessary that an equal number of questions of each behavioral domain be selected on the Earth Science I Test of the College Scholastic Ability Test in general. Besides, it seems to be necessary that the knowledge, understanding, application, and the behavior area of the inquiry be highly correlated with the AOI 2 area in development of test questions.

  • 본 논문은 전문대학 의료정보관련 자격증 문제은행을 개발하기 위해 여러 가지 자격증별로 중복되는 세부과목에 대한 통합관리와 반복적 모의고사관리, 문제관리(출제, 복사, 채점), 온/오프라인 및 원격지 학습을 가능하도록 시스템을 구성하였다. 이를 통해 실제 전문대학의 수업시간에 활용이 가능하도록 문제은행의 유형, 출력, 풀이방법, 답안의 조정이 편리한 웹 서비스에 중점을 두고 개발하였다. 또한 국가고시 5지선다와 민간자격증 4지선다 문항을 통합관리하며, 과목별문제출제 및 자격증별 비율에 맞는 문제출제도 가능하도록 설계하였다.

Design of Database Cache by Association Mining Method (연관마이닝에 의한 데이터베이스캐시 설계)

  • 효율적인 데이타마트 정보의 축척과 질의 정보 추출을 위한 연관 마이닝 방법을 적용하여 검색 속도를 빠르게 할 수 있도록 테이블을 생성하고 고객의 속성별 가중치와 선호기준을 입력받아 선호 점수를 계산하여 점수가 높은 과목을 우선적으로 검색할 수 있도록 기존 연관 알고리즘에서 사용한 단일 항목 입력 데이터 구조를 확장하여 다중 항목 연관 알고리즘(Multiple Item Association Mining : MIAM)을 이용하여 생성된 연관 검색 유형 테이블을 데이터베이스캐시화를 설계하였다. 동일한 알고리즘에서도 데이터베이스캐시 시스템을 적용한 시스템의 질의 처리 수행속도가 우수성을 이용하여 설계함으로써 효율적인 웹 서버 기능을 수행할 수 있음과 동시에 데이터베이스 캐싱의 주요 이점인 효율성 증대, 속도 향상, 비용절감의 효과를 얻을 수 있으므로 연구 설계하였다.
