  • To determine if water-jet nozzle moves and water jetting are effective according to the location of the fire, this study examined the automatic fire-tracking water cannon system and aan indoor hydrant system, such as water jet centered directivity, water jet range maintainability and water jet shape uniformity. First, an examination to find the center of fire accurately from this system design showed that the water jet centered test was accurate. Second, the water jet range test results showed that when water is jetted at the maximum water jet radius, the water jet shows an inaccurate result but within the allowable tolerance range. Finally, the water-jet shape test result confirmed that there are no problems in setting the block from the algorithm design.

  • In the urban and rural complex, taxis move from downtown to rural areas for business purposes, and operate a combined surcharge system that preserves losses when they back to downtown. However, complaints related to the abolition of the compound surcharge system are increasing due to deformed operation that does not fit the purpose of the system. When the combinedsurcharge system is abolished, the taxi industry can be hit hard by the decrease in profits, and local governments are inevitable to support it. However, it is difficult to set the size of the subsidy considering the decrease of actual income. This study is to estimate the income reduction in the abolition of the combined surcharge system by scientific and objective method by analyzing the DTG data and the sales data collected from the digital driving recorder installed in the corporate taxi of the urban and rural complex area (e.g., Tongyeong city). This study is meaningful in that it used DTG data to solve the current issues in the real region and suggested the use of new DTG data.

  • In this paper we have studied an optical system according to the aperture position of an off-axis TMA telescope for satellites. An off-axis TMA telescope should have high resolution and wide field of view (FOV). In addition, the optical system should have a wide tolerance range, because it is structurally located off-axis and is difficult to assemble. However, there are differences in performance and sensitivity according to the aperture-stop position, so it is important to select a suitable aperture-stop position. Therefore, in this paper we have designed each off-axis TMA telescope according to the aperture-stop position, and have analyzed the performance and sensitivity to suggest a suitable aperture-stop position.

  • This study derived a reverse engineering procedure for verifying the design identity of original parts and developed parts for PMA(Parts Manufacturer Approval) and STC(Supplemental Type Certificate) of metal brake pads for transport aircraft, which are critical parts among aircraft parts and equipment. In Korea, the regulations for reverse engineering procedures are regulated by the Parts Manufacturer Approval Guidelines, and in the United States, AC No. 21. 303-4. In the reverse engineering for the brake pad, the detailed procedures for each component were determined by selecting verification test items to confirm identity based on sample quantity, dimensional tolerance, mechanical property measurement, material, weight and volume characteristics for each component. In addition, as a result of analyzing the regulation of Korea and United States, in the case of Korea, it is necessary to establish technical standards for braking systems for transport aircraft and regulations related to flight tests.

  • SAR satellite can acquire clear imagery regardless of weather and the images are widely used for land management, natural hazard monitoring and many other applications. Automatic image matching technique is necessary for management of a huge amount of SAR data. Nevertheless, it is difficult to assure the accuracy of image matching due to the difference of image-capturing attitude and time. In this paper, we compared performances of MI method, FMT method and SIFT method by applying arbitrary displacement and rotation to TerraSAR-X images and changing resolution of the images. As a result, when the features having specific intensity were distributed well in SAR imagery, MI method could assure 0~2 pixels accuracy even if the images were captured in different geometry. But the accuracy of FMT method was significantly poor for the images having different spatial resolutions and the error was represented by tens or hundreds pixels. Moreover, the ratio of corresponding matching points for SIFT method was only 0~17% and it was difficult for SIFT method to apply to SAR images captured in different geometry.

  • We report the design and performance analysis of an off-axis three-mirror telescope as the fore optics for a new hyperspectral sensor aboard a small unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), for low-altitude coastal remote sensing. The sensor needs to have at least 4 cm of spatial resolution at an operating altitude of 500 m, $4^{\circ}$ field of view (FOV), and a signal to noise ratio (SNR) of 100 at 660 nm. For these performance requirements, the sensor's optical design has an entrance pupil diameter of 70 mm and an F-ratio of 5.0. The fore optics is a three-mirror system, including aspheric primary and secondary mirrors. The optical performance is expected to reach $1/15{\lambda}$ in RMS wavefront error and 0.75 in MTF value at 660 nm. Considering the manufacturing and assembling phase, we determined the alignment compensation due to the tertiary mirror from the sensitivity, and derived the tilt-tolerance range to be 0.17 mrad. The off-axis three-mirror telescope, which has better performance than the fore optics of other hyperspectral sensors and is fitted for a small UAV, will contribute to ocean remote-sensing research.

  • This study conducted a prototype development and evaluation by performing die-casting mold design, mold manufacturing, and injection condition optimization based on flow and solidification analysis to meet the needs of the coupling parts produced by die casting. Through flow analysis, the injection conditions suitable for 100% filling in the cavity were found to be a molten metal temperature of 670 ℃, injection speed of 1.164 m/s, and filling pressure of 6.324~18.77 MPa. In addition, solidification close to 100 % occurred in all four cavities when the solidification rate was 69.47 %. A defect inspection on the surface and inside the product revealed defects, such as poor molding and pores. In addition, the dimensions of the injected product were within the target tolerance and showed good results. Through the feedback of the results of flow and solidification analysis, it was possible to optimize the mold design, and the injection optimization conditions were confirmed to be a total cycle time of approximately 6.5 seconds. Good quality carrier parts with an average surface hardness of approximately 45 mm from the gate measured at 97.48(Hv) could be produced.

  • This study aims to determine the cause of structural defects occurring during aircraft operations and to verify the structural integrity of the improved features. The fracture plane was analyzed to verify the characteristics of the cracks and the fatigue failure leading to the final fracture was determined by the progress of the cracks by the repeated load. During aircraft operations, the comparative analysis of the load measurement data at the cracks with the aircraft design load determined that the measured load was not at the level of 30% of the design to be capable of being damaged. A gap analysis resulted in a significant stress of approximately 32 ksi at the crack site. Pre-Load testing also confirmed that the M.S. was reduced by more than 50% from +0.71 to +0.43, resulting in a sharp increase in aircraft load and the possibility of cracking when combined. Thus, structural reinforcement and the removal of the gap for aircraft cracking sites improved the defect. Based on the structural strength analysis of the improvement features, the bulkhead has a margin of about +0.88 and the fitting feature is about +0.48 versus allowable stress. In addition, the life analysis results revealed an improvement of approximately 84000 hours.

  • This study was a med at predicting running speed related to alignment factors of forest road, and recommending the improvement method of forest road construction using the running speed of vehicles. For these purposes, this study proceeds to select forest roads after reviewing the planning papers and maps, to measure the road alignment factors such as longitudinal gradient, width of roadway, radius of curve, length of curve, superelevation, and conditions of road surface on the subject forest road. It was found that the running speed of vehicle on forest road is mainly influenced by the conditions of road surface, radios of curve, compound gradient, length of curve, longitudinal gradient and so on. The average running speed of cargo truck showed lower value than that of the expected speed of 'Forest Road Construction Regulations and Rules', and the average running speed of loaded truck showed 70-85% of the speed of empty truck. According to the road conditions, the changes of running speed can be expressed mathematically in terms of the increment of radius of curve and longitudinal gradient. The results of the study on the running speed of vehicle subject to the alignment of forest roads make it possible for one to judge the quality of the existing and to be constructed forest roads, to select the structure of forest road to improve the running speed of vehicle on forest road.

  • This paper suggests the MMAS(Map Matching using Additional Surveying) method to improve the cadastral discrepancy search algorithm that currently does not include corrections of mis-represented parcel data. The MMAS is a method to search for cadastral discrepancy after correcting mis-represented parcel data using nearby anchor points confirmed by surveys. The MMAS first transforms the coordinate system of the digital cadastral map by overlaying anchor points obtained in the field surveying process over the corresponding edges of buildings and facility points on the digital topographic map. Then, it searches for cadastral discrepancy by checking if the area differences exceed the tolerance limit. This method improves the current method for searching for cadastral discrepancy by performing the process after correcting extortion of the digital cadastral map. This helps to identify cadastral discrepancies that are not detectable within the distorted digital cadastral map. With our experiment, this method identified more discrepancies compared to the method without the correcting the distortion of the digital cadastral map. We believe this method will be able to help the national cadastral re-survey by identifying potential cadastral discrepancy more accurately.
