  • Recently, citizen participation and user - oriented design are becoming increasingly important in the urban space design process. The Children's Park has also begun to discuss the need to reflect children's opinions and needs as well as existing ways and means of participation to reflect these opinions and ideas. In this study, a design education program for children was constructed and user opinions accessed via this design education were reflected in design and applied to the Children's Park. The training program consists of five weeks of educational programs, textbooks and teaching methods related to existing research, design education for children and participatory design programs. This program was used as a pilot of Eogong-6ho Children 's Park(No. 6 Children's Park), located in Gwonseon-gu, Suwon, and reinterpreted the results of the workshop for 5th grade students at Sunil Elementary School. This design education program is distinguished from other workshop programs on how to organize and operate participating professors and textbooks, and has a program base that can reproduce the entire process. In addition, it is necessary to verify the effects of user participation through research, such as monitoring the use of children's parks after completion, as well as the application of more diverse design methodologies to children's parks and the way they reflect children's opinions.

  • The purpose of this research was to develop a web based visitor utilization analysis program for a more structured national park visitor management. Rather than employing the current human resources to understand and manage the visitor utilization, the database could classify and analyze information hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually etc, and use entrance/exit information to understand visitor usage period. Also with a web based park usage analysis program, visitor monitoring could be done without any limitation in regards to time and space. The visitor use analysis program developed by this research will not only achieve a more structured and efficient visitor management, but also will provide basic information to make park management decisions.

  • Many different Visitor Guide Programs are active in order to explain the park-visitors of the superiority of National Park ecosystems and to make them aware of the importance of national park conservation. One of those VGPs is Nature Observation Trail. In this study, we analyzed the course and program of Sangui Nature Observation Trail in Juwangsan National Park. We suggest new course and interpretation plates to make explorers understand their contents easily.

  • The National Park Service is making efforts to create a safe environment by installing rockfall prevention facilities (rockfall prevention nets, fences, and Piam tunnels) in areas at risk of falling rocks. However, the occurrence of falling rocks is increasing every year due to torrential rains caused by climate change, abnormal temperatures in winter, and aging of the ground, and the need to improve the existing rock risk area management plan has emerged. In this study, a pilot area at risk of falling rocks was selected for the Hwanggol district of Chiaksan National Park among Korean national parks, and rockfall analysis was performed using the Rockfall program, and monitoring was conducted by applying a countermeasure method combined with the measurement system to the pilot area. Through this, a rockfall management plan was proposed for continuous management and monitoring of rockfall.
