  • The study concluded that in order to achieve a single sign-on through the federation ID management method must be used among many other methods so to establish a combined approval service that gives access to education related information provided by the 16 city and provincial offices of education and the KERIS(Korea Education & Research Information Service). The federation ID management method allows the usage of authentication policy and enables transfer of ID information to other institutions through standardized processing. Therefore by establishing single sign-on through the federation ID management method allows individual city and provincial office of education to maintain the already existing approval services while combining user identification database.

  • With an increase in urban crimes in various forms, this study is intended to analyze the effectiveness of the service design that presented a new model resolving crime risks through differentiated thinking paradigm and problem approaches. The empirical case addressed in this study is 'the project to create resident-driven safe community in Duryu-dong, Dalseo-gu, Deagu though service design'. This project is evaluated as having prepared a prevention-oriented local safety system through a preemptive and resident-centered process. The project was promoted as a 'natural monitoring capacity building program' for residents to prevent local crimes, a 'social role expansion program' for local safety, and 'crime prevention environment design', which provides comprehensive solutions for residents' safety. Here, designers act as exerts in designing a task-based platform that can be driven by residents rather than a visual environment improver, and reorganizing the local ecosystem by expanding the opportunities for residents to interact. This case identifies the role of service design as binding the solidarity of local residents beyond the improvement of the crime environment and giving them the potential capacity to maintain a safe living space in relation to a safety issues of community.

  • Advanced countries are very active in deploying the National Information I infrastructure which provides universal service to promise fruitful quality of futuree life. Even in the distributed environment, we can closely converse, work together, and share information in a very convenient way. This is actually enabled with the help of groupware technology, which are currently focused and researched in a larger popularity. The aim of this study is to design a portable pack for group communications management to support the development of groupware application. In the paper we begin with technical survey, continue to build our own model for group communications man agement, and design its architecture and procedure. We also suggest group addressing mechanism under Internet environment such as how to create IP multicast address and IP port number dynamically and as a globally unique value for the communication session, with the help of the hierarchical and distributed address managers. We also indicate the reliable data transmission services to remedy the unreliable feature of the UDP multicast services, and finally the architecture/ applied to support the practical applications is briefly discussed for verification of the designed concept.

Implementation of FPGA-based Accelerator for GRU Inference with Structured Compression (구조적 압축을 통한 FPGA 기반 GRU 추론 가속기 설계)

  • To deploy Gate Recurrent Units (GRU) on resource-constrained embedded devices, this paper presents a reconfigurable FPGA-based GRU accelerator that enables structured compression. Firstly, a dense GRU model is significantly reduced in size by hybrid quantization and structured top-k pruning. Secondly, the energy consumption on external memory access is greatly reduced by the proposed reuse computing pattern. Finally, the accelerator can handle a structured sparse model that benefits from the algorithm-hardware co-design workflows. Moreover, inference tasks can be flexibly performed using all functional dimensions, sequence length, and number of layers. Implemented on the Intel DE1-SoC FPGA, the proposed accelerator achieves 45.01 GOPs in a structured sparse GRU network without batching. Compared to the implementation of CPU and GPU, low-cost FPGA accelerator achieves 57 and 30x improvements in latency, 300 and 23.44x improvements in energy efficiency, respectively. Thus, the proposed accelerator is utilized as an early study of real-time embedded applications, demonstrating the potential for further development in the future.

  • This study was designed to implement Activity-Orientated Career Education for college students, using the web-based interface. A draft web interface was designed by Rapid Prototyping and was thereafter taken to experts to review and determine the designs, in order to achieve the purpose of the study. Firstly, the sequence of activities of career education was run in accordance with the systematic order of Action Learning, in order to understand the overall design direction. Secondly, the design of the study may result in virtuous cycle-to-cycle. According to two major design directions, on the learning environment platform, the interface consisted of, knowing who I am; knowing who others think I am, knowing the job world; career decisions; career action plans; action planning; individual and co-evaluation; reflection; etc. These steps were designed to be implemented in accordance with strong interactivity of Wiki and Web 2.0 designs. This study was able to implement career education experiences centered around the activities of students at university, as well as experts, in order to increase the accessibility of Career Based Education on the web.

  • This study is to think a new arena of collective play culture at the university campus festival for digital generation used to be individually consuming play in cyberspace. While cyberia is virtual cultural space by providing gigantic platforms in which producers and consumers meet, this space has characterized as individuality and disembodiment, that is why recalling the collective play culture at the off-line. This article is to examine the characteristics and meaning of the recent campus festivals during the history of Korean college festivals, and to analyze proposals of play-contents applied by various theories. The 2016-7' proposals include several kind of board game and experimental theatre sublimed philosophical reflection, which shows a kind of attempt to escape from the cultural industrial logic, however they are characterized by Ilinx(drinking culture) and Alea(board game) emphasized more than Agon, and Mimicry combined with paidia rule strongly. Under the neoliberalism, college students' gloomy reality is represented emasculating of the structure of competitions in the context of an unreal world and Mimicry of experience stay in front of the limen before entering the embodiment.

  • 한국의 고천문 자료는 삼국시대 이후 근대 조선까지 다수가 존재하여 세계적으로 드문 기록 문화를 보유하고 있으나, 한문 번역이 많이 이루어지지 않아 학술적 활용이 활발하지 못한 상태이다. 고문헌의 한문 문장 번역은 전문인력의 수작업에 의존하는 만큼 소요 시간이 길기에 투자대비 효율성이 떨어지는 편이다. 이에 최근 여러 분야에서 응용되는 인공지능의 적용을 대안으로 삼을 수 있으며, 초벌 번역 수준일지라도 자동번역기의 개발은 유용한 학술도구가 될 수 있다. 한국천문연구원은 한국정보화진흥원이 주관하는 2019년도 Information and Communication Technology 기반 공공서비스 촉진사업에 한국고전번역원과 공동 참여하여 인공신경망 기계학습이 적용된 고문헌 자동번역모델을 개발하고자 한다. 이 연구는 고천문 도메인에 특화된 인공지능 기계학습 기법으로 자동번역모델을 개발하여 이를 서비스하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구 방법은 크게 4가지 개발을 진행하는 것으로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 첫째, 인공지능의 학습 데이터에 해당되는 '코퍼스'를 구축하는 것이다. 이는 고문헌의 한자 원문과 한글 번역문이 쌍을 이루도록 만들어 줌으로써 학습에 최적화한 데이터를 최소 6만 개 이상 추출하는 것이다. 둘째, 추출된 학습 데이터 코퍼스를 다양한 인공지능 기계학습 기법에 적용하여 천문 분야 특수고전 도메인에 특화된 자동번역 모델을 생성하는 것이다. 셋째, 클라우드 기반에서 참여 기관별로 소장한 고문헌을 자동 번역 모델에 기반하여 도메인 특화된 모델로 도출 및 활용할 수 있는 대기관 서비스 플랫폼 구축이다. 넷째, 개발된 자동 번역기의 대국민 개방을 위해 웹과 모바일 메신저를 통해 자동 번역 서비스를 클라우드 기반으로 구축하는 것이다. 이 연구는 시스템 요구사항 분석과 정의를 바탕으로 설계가 진행 또는 일부 완료되어 구현 중에 있다. 추후 이 연구의 성능 평가는 자동번역모델 평가와 응용시스템 시험으로 나누어 진행된다. 자동번역모델은 평가용 테스트셋에 의한 자동 평가와 전문가에 의한 휴먼 평가에 따라 모델의 품질을 수치로 측정할 수 있다. 또한 응용시스템 시험은 소프트웨어 방법론의 개발 단계별 테스트를 적용한다. 이 연구를 통해 고천문 분야가 인공지능 자동번역 확산 플랫폼 시범의 첫 케이스라는 점에서 의의가 있다. 즉, 클라우드 기반으로 시스템을 구축함으로써 상대적으로 적은 초기 비용을 투자하여 활용성이 높은 한문 문장 자동 번역기라는 연구 인프라를 확보하는 첫 적용 학문 분야이다. 향후 이를 활용한 고천문 분야 학술 활동이 더욱 활발해질 것을 기대해 볼 수 있다.

  • This paper describes our experience to design and implementation of a collaborative system framework that allows to develop certain collaborative applications such as 3D animation, computer game, and industrial design. The collaborative system enables users, who located in geographically long distance, to do collaborative work in a single virtual space. The proposed system basically consists of client and server system. The goal of proposed system is to support scalability, portability, and platform independent. In order to achieve these, the server is implemented in Java platform and is adopted to the hybrid architecture which takes the advantages both in centralized and decentralized collaborative system. We construct the server base on its functional characteristics so called User Manager Server (UMS), Session Manager Server (SMS), and Information Server (IS), The UMS manages the users who are taking part in the collaborative operations. The SMS supports the conferencing in the proposed system. The IS provides the connection methods among the UMSs. For user's convenience, we implement the client using Visual C++ in Windows. We also expend the functions of 3D Studio Max to distributed environment by means of the plug-in module, and facilitate the chatting and white board functions as well.

  • As major industries become information -centered, business transactions and information -sharing processes are being computerized and automated, which ultimately re-defines electronic commercial transactions in a broader context. Business documents are the basic tools for corporate transactions. The use of business documents in electronic commercial transactions has increased markedly and this sphere is rapidly being extended to include information sharing between companies. XML(extensible Markup Language) was selected as the focus for this thesis. XML can help to make a complicated and data-rich document easy to share. The thesis proposes a business XML document editing system, comprised of a style document editor for business XM document structure, business documentation, and business document presentation, along with a business document transformation system which makes a transformation possible regardless of platform or using various corporate document standards.
