Estimation of Cavity Vibration Frequency Using Adaptive Filters for Gas Flow Measurement (적응 필터를 이용한 공동진동주파수 추정에 의한 기체 유량측정)

  • In this paper, a hardware implementation of gas flow meter for accuracy improvement and saving repair costs at a field is investigated. An adaptive filter using LMS algorithms for estimating cavity vibration frequencies in noisy environments is also studied. The proposed cavity gas flow meter measures cavity sound signals in gas flow tube using microphone and signal processing systems estimate the cavity vibration frequency from the measured signal. The flow velocity and flow quantity can be calculated using the estimated cavity vibration frequency. Since cavity vibration frequency is corrupted by the environmental noise, an adaptive filter using NLMS algorithms is used for cancelling the environmental noise. Experiments using 1MS32OC32 digital signal processor are performed to show the effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • 본 연구에서는 공동주택의 바닥충격음 차음성능 향상을 위한 설계자료의 제시를 위해 천장구조가 서로 다른 공동주택을 대상으로 경량 및 중량 바닥충격음의 현장측정을 통하여 공동주택의 천장구조에 의한 바닥충격음 변화특성을 분석하고 차음성능을 평가하였다. 측정대상 건물에서 천장을 설치한 경우가 비교적 높은 충격음 차음성능 분포를 보이는 것으로 나타났으며, 바닥슬래브 하부 천장에 공기층과 완충재를 함께 설치하는 것은 기존 공동주택 등에서 경량 및 중량 바닥충격음 차음성능을 향상시키기 위한 효과적인 방안임을 확인하였다.

Q measurement of two port RE cavity by scattering parameters (산란행렬에 의한 2단자망 RF 공동공진기의 Q 측정)

  • A method of measuring Q of a two port cavity by scattering parameters is proposed. The scattering parameters of a two port cavity resonator are derived by a lumped equivalent circuit model as a function of cavity parameters, including the cavity Q. These can be also obtained by direct measurement with a modern network analyzer, The results show good agreement with those from other well-known methods. This two port measurement can provide additional information such as the coupled power ratio, which is one of the important parameters for the beam accelerating cavities.

  • Integrated cavity output spectroscopy(ICOS) is a simple, non-intrusive absorption measurement technique that can detect and quantify trace-level gas species. The spectral absorbance of a gas is quantified from the integrated optical output of the modulated high-finesse cavity containing the sample which is irradiated by a wavelength-swept laser source. We constructed an experimental setup by using a tunable single mode external cavity diode laser operating at the wavelength near 765 nm and a Fabry-Perot cavity with length modulation achieved by a piezoelectric transducer where one of the cavity mirrors sat on. In the experiment performed on minute oxygen gas at the wave-length near 764.5nm, we demonstrated the minimum detectable absorption of $8.45\times10^{-8}cm^{-1}$.

  • To determine detection capabilities of locating steel bars and delamination inside concrete, commercially available nondestructive testing (NDT) equipments have been tested. The equipments include two radar systems and two electromagnetic method systems. The inclusions are a 19 mm diameter steel bar and 50 mm thick delamination embedded at different cover depths from the surface of concrete specimens. For the steel bar, attempts were made to determine the size of the bars by changing the diameter of the bars. A sample result of measuring horizontal spacing between doubly reinforced bars is presented in this paper. Experimental results on various measurement cases are discussed. Application of numerical modeling technique for the simulation of radar measurements and improved output display of radar measurements are also presented.

  • Pressure Sensitive Paint(PSP) means a reacting paint in pressure. PSP can measure continuous pressure field by analyzing the oxygen quantity using optical method. The surface pressure of down stream after the sonic jet that injected transversely into the supersonic freestream was measured by PSP technique. Moreover the effect of various rectangular shaped cavities in front of the jet was measured by PSP technique. A comparison of the PSP results with conventional pressure tap and CFD indicates good agreement. Until now, the results of numerical analysis were compared with the discrete points such as the results of pressure tap. In this study, the whole region pressure was measured using PSP technique and its results were similar to CFD. Therefore, the flow phenonenon of cavity downstream was clearly grasped.

A Comparative Study on the Centrality Measures for Analyzing Research Collaboration Networks (공동연구 네트워크 분석을 위한 중심성 지수에 대한 비교 연구)

  • This study explores the characteristics of centrality measures for analyzing researchers' impact and structural positions in research collaboration networks. We investigate four binary network centrality measures (degree centrality, closeness centrality, betweenness centrality, and PageRank), and seven existing weighted network centrality measures (triangle betweenness centrality, mean association, weighted PageRank, collaboration h-index, collaboration hs-index, complex degree centrality, and c-index) for research collaboration networks. And we propose SSR, which is a new weighted centrality measure for collaboration networks. Using research collaboration data from three different research domains including architecture, library and information science, and marketing, the above twelve centrality measures are calculated and compared each other. Results indicate that the weighted network centrality measures are needed to consider collaboration strength as well as collaboration range in research collaboration networks. We also recommend that when considering both collaboration strength and range, it is appropriate to apply triangle betweenness centrality and SSR to investigate global centrality and local centrality in collaboration networks.

  • The flow of combustor in scramjet engine has supersonic speed so that the residence time and mixing ratio are very important factors for the efficient combustion. This study used open cavity(L/D=4.8) as a fuel/air mixing model. Laser schlieren visualization and pressure measurement were carried out to observe the flow characteristics around a jet orifice and a cavity at the time of fuel injection. As a result of 10ns laser schlieren, unsteady flow which was around the cavity could be observed effectively. Pressure was measured that momentum flux ratio(J) was changed. And the change of critical ignition point could be observed by the momentum flux ratio changed.
